Since its opening in 2002, this Ryokan in Arima has been cherished by many as a Property renowned for its cuisine. The chef believes that a true master chef is one who explains the dishes thoroughly to the guests and brings them joy through the dining experience. This philosophy, considered the essence of culinary art by Tadamichi Ota, gave birth to the concept of "Guest-Front Cooking." To allow guests to enjoy Tadamichi Ota's essence of Guest-Front Cooking up close, the Ryokan has been transformed into a luxurious haven featuring a counter-focused restaurant and six exclusive rooms equipped with private open-air baths with Kinsen hot spring water, emphasizing privacy and comfort. Skilled in traditional ink-line marking, Heikichi was known locally as “Sumiya no Hei-san” (“Hei from the ink shop”). From this nickname came the house name Tanpei, later renamed “Tanpei,” and it has since been operated as the oldest Accommodation in Tango Town to this day. The spirit of hospitality of “Sumiya no Hei-san” has been passed down through six generations and continues today.

Known as the “inner retreat of Takayama,” Hida-Furukawa is a charming town lined with traditional townhouses, white-walled storehouses, and the Setogawa River where carp swim. Our Accommodation has been welcoming guests here for over 180 years. This Meiji-era building, showcasing the craftsmanship of Hida artisans, is designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan. Our 18 guest rooms are spread across three buildings, each with its own character: Shogetsuro, a merchant-style building (built in 1905); Kogetsuro, built in the Sukiya style (early Showa period); and Kangetsuro (built in the Heisei era), offering views of Honkoji Temple and the Araki River from the front. Celebrating its 100th anniversary in the 4th year of Reiwa, "Ryokan Wakamatsu" was established in Hakodate in Taisho 11 (1922). For nearly a century, it has been cherished as a long-established Ryokan offering the finest hospitality in Hakodate Yunokawa Onsen. In Showa 29, it was honored to host His Majesty the Emperor during his tour of Hokkaido, and in recent years, it has been awarded one star in the "Michelin Guide Hokkaido." While inheriting the rich history and traditions of the past, we invite you to indulge in a luxurious moment with the hospitality refined over the years.

The first-generation owner, Tadayoshi Ota, was a connoisseur so esteemed that Rosanjin described him as "the most notable man in Hokuriku, a national guest of Kanazawa, and a great figure in tea gatherings." It is said that tea masters, connoisseurs, and gourmets, including Dono Masuda, frequently visited from Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, drawn by Tadayoshi's hospitality. His attention to ingredients and dedication to tableware were so exceptional that they were even passed down to "Hoshioka Saryo." As Rosanjin remarked, "He did not use tea as an ornament for himself nor as a business," reflecting the heartfelt and unpretentious hospitality that was the philosophy of Yamanoo. After the war, adapting to changes in lifestyle, "Yamanoo" was reborn as "Kanazawa Yamanoo." The current owner, Tatsuya Motoya, is the fifth generation since Tadayoshi. While time has passed and the name has changed, the spirit of hospitality, "one guest, one pavilion," has been faithfully carried on since its founding.

Located about a 5-minute taxi ride from JR Tendo Station, "Tendoso" has been in operation for over 100 years since its founding as an eel restaurant in the early Meiji era. This small-scale accommodation features only 11 rooms, focusing on providing personalized hospitality to each guest. All guest rooms offer the enjoyment of Onsen. The property includes unique spaces such as "Rijin-kyo," a detached single-story building with traditional Sukiya-style architecture, and "Azumatei," a suite blending modern functionality with the aesthetic charm of Japanese-Western design. As you leisurely walk up the gentle slope from the station, you will notice the brick-built Beppu City Community Hall. This Scandinavian architecture, constructed in the early Showa period, showcases a lesser-known beautiful aspect of Beppu. In this hillside corner lies Momoya. Its serene presence harmonizes with the residential area. A Japanese-style garden unfolds with moss-covered stones over time and seasonal flowers and fruits. Kaiseki Yado Shiosato was established in 1953 and has been operating as a Ryokan in this Banshu region for many years. Starting as a very small Ryokan with only 3 Rooms at the time of its founding, we have gradually grown with the support of our local guests. In 2003, marking our 50th anniversary, we underwent a complete renovation and have since been operating as a Property with 11 Rooms. Today, we welcome not only local guests but also many visitors from other prefectures through introductions and recommendations. Shiosato is still in the process of growth. We will continue striving to be a Property where guests can feel our daily evolution.
