Yanagawa is a beautiful water city where 930 km of canals, unchanged since the Edo period, spread throughout the town and boats glide by. The Tachibana family has long stood alongside Yanagawa’s history. During the Edo period, Ohana began as a villa of the Tachibana family, lords of the Yanagawa Domain. From the Western-style building constructed in the Meiji era as an authentic guesthouse, you pass through to a grand 100-tatami hall—beyond which lies a magnificent garden composed solely of pine trees. With the renewal of our accommodation wing, we are being reborn as a space where you can more fully enjoy the appeal of cultural properties still preserved by descendants of this former daimyo family. "Kinokawa Onsen Registered Tangible Cultural Property Inn Mikiyama" is a Japanese Ryokan with a 300-year history, located in the heart of the nostalgic Japanese Onsen town, Kinokawa Onsen. Renowned author Naoya Shiga made this Property his regular stay, where his famous short story "At Kinosaki" was born. The wooden architecture, built in 1927 and recognized as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan, along with a 300-tsubo Japanese garden, retains its charm. In November 2013, the Property underwent a major renovation of its lobby, dining area, and large public bath, transforming into a modern Japanese Ryokan that blends history with contemporary design.From the Room's veranda, guests can enjoy the changing seasons in the garden, or lose themselves in a book in the library. Shuzenji, where Shuzenji Onsen Yukaido Kikuya is located, is a historic Onsen town steeped in legends related to Kobo Daishi. The current Kikuya was once referred to as an annex. It is said that there was also a three-story main building at the time. Even the renowned author Natsume Soseki stayed in the main building. Back then, Kikuya owned approximately 40 to 45 cho (hectares) of forest land, and there were generations of mountain keepers. Additionally, there were always about 20 craftsmen, including gardeners, plasterers, and carpenters. At that time, many landscaping projects were undertaken, such as creating rest areas for guests who stayed for extended periods, which required such a workforce. During the era of the main building, there was a grand banquet hall called Kikuya Sanso, boasting an astonishing number of tatami mats.

With a proud history and tradition spanning more than 100 years, Nara Hotel is perched on a scenic hill in Nara Park and adjoins the former Daijoin Garden, a designated cultural property.
