Notice from the Accommodation

  • Announcement: Tochigi Local Sake Tasting Set (Three Varieties)

Thank you very much for your continued patronage of Ashio no Yado Kajika.

We would like to introduce our “Three Tochigi Local Sake Tasting Set.”
After soaking in our 100% natural hot spring water in the stillness of an Ashio night surrounded by mountains, enjoy a luxurious moment as you quench your thirst with Tochigi’s finest local sake.

    ■ Three carefully selected Tochigi sakes
Tochigi is a hidden gem for sake lovers, blessed with pure water and high-quality rice. From among its many renowned labels, we have carefully selected three distinct varieties with different flavor profiles.

    1. Seikai (Nikko City, Imaichi) — Watanabe Sahei Shoten
A naturally brewed junmai sake long loved by locals.
With no added brewing alcohol or sugars, it offers a well-balanced harmony of rice-derived aroma and flavor. Exceptionally smooth on the palate, it gently complements our rustic satoyama cuisine.

    2. Daina (Otawara City) — Kiku no Sato Shuzo
An extra-dry junmai sake characterized by refined acidity and a crisp, pleasantly bitter finish.
Its sharp mouthfeel tightens the clean umami, leaving a refreshing sensation with every sip. A proud pour that cuts through the richness of meat dishes with its excellent clarity.

    3. Tentaka Nama Sake (Otawara City) — Tentaka Shuzo
A “nama” (unpasteurized) sake that is never heat-treated from storage through bottling.
Inside the bottle, the yeast remains alive and active even now. Please enjoy its vibrant freshness and gorgeous aroma unique to nama sake.

    ■ Paired with satoyama cuisine
Our dinner course highlights seasonal ingredients unique to Tochigi.
By tasting these three distinctive sakes side by side in small amounts, you’ll discover new layers of flavor in each dish.
Surrounded by Ashio’s abundant nature, spend a soothing time enjoying delicious sake and Onsen.

All of us on staff look forward to welcoming you.
