The interior had been nicely renovated. Some trash from the previous guest was left behind, so the cleaning was a bit disappointing, but we were still able to spend a comfortable stay in the spacious Room. The Onsen also has great water. All of the staff were kind and provided courteous service. The meals were fairly standard but tasty, and we left feeling full. Thank you very much for your hospitality.
Yahoo!トラベルユー... 8/1/2026At first glance, the property felt quite old, but the view of koi in the pond and crossing the bridge to get to our Room was charming and atmospheric. The Room was spacious and very clean, and although the Onsen is old, the water was excellent. I was especially happy that dinner was delicious. However, while it suited me since I don’t like very hot baths, some guests may find it a bit lukewarm. Next time, I plan to visit just for the Onsen.

Introduction of the Accommodation

The serene main gate at night, a different world beyond the noren.
As you pass through the temple gate, a natural-colored noren with a family crest gently glows in the evening light, while stone-paved paths lit by lanterns guide your steps. Stepping into the 4,000-tsubo water garden, the scent of cypress and the night breeze brushing over the river surface blend together, distancing you from the noise of the city. A curtain of tranquility rises to release your mind and invite you into another world. With a deep breath, your journey begins.

A vermilion corridor reflecting the clear stream, lights swaying on the water mirror
Gentle ripples drawn from the clear stream of Yomichi River sway at your feet, while the vermilion-painted corridor resembles a floating flower path on the water. The soft glow of lanterns reflects off the railings and trees, offering a luxurious promenade where you can enjoy seasonal beauty without getting wet, even on rainy days. As you walk further, the scenery reflected in the water mirror changes, compelling you to capture it with your camera.

Open-air Bath with a Starry Sky View at Shisuien
The tiered stone-crafted open-air bath offers a unique design that seems to extend into the sky. Stars reflected on the water's surface blend with rising steam, creating an illusion of heaven and water merging as one. The gentle radioactive spring water soothes fatigue, and as you recline in the bath, the sound of the river becomes a lullaby, bringing a profound sense of relaxation that makes you forget time.

Take a moment to breathe deeply in our lobby.
The lounge in the lobby offers a prime seat with a full glass view of the garden. Enjoy freshly brewed coffee in a space filled with the scent of cypress, accompanied by the soothing sound of a mountain stream. Guests are welcome to use this space freely from arrival to checkout, whether for reading, chatting, or remote work—spend your time as you wish.

Serene Comfort in the Japanese-Western Room "Katsura" Overlooking a Seasonal Garden
The Japanese-Western style room "Katsura" at Shisuien offers a high-quality stay where you can enjoy the comfort of both tatami and beds while gazing at the expansive Japanese garden through the windows. Relax your mind and body with quiet moments reflecting seasonal changes and a soothing Onsen bath. Perfect for family or couple stays.
A Relaxing Moment
A tranquil Onsen accommodation surrounded by greenery offers a soothing retreat. The expansive Japanese garden resonates with the sound of a gentle stream, showcasing seasonal beauty. Enjoy a peaceful moment in this quiet hideaway away from everyday life.
