The calm, traditional Japanese-style tatami rooms are ideal for groups and families and come equipped with a humidifying air purifier. The Onsen uses 100% natural spring water with no added water or heating, offering benefits for beautiful skin and weight management, while the large public bath and open-air bath overlook Zao’s magnificent natural scenery.

  • Wonderful hospitality.

    The staff work diligently and provide attentive, thoughtful hospitality. There are enough staff members, so it never feels hectic or overwhelmed, and they seem to have the capacity to respond calmly. The Shuttle Service was also warm and pleasant. Overall, you can feel their commitment to offering the very best service. The private-source Onsen is available anytime; the water quality is excellent, and alternating with the cold bath is especially effective. The lounge offers coffee and other drinks for long hours, always replenished, making it very convenient. The traditional furnishings throughout the property and the tableware used for meals are refined and soothing. The food was delicious as well—carefully prepared with homemade yuba, local vegetables, and Sendai beef. There is also great attention to detail in the bedding and tea set in the Room. I would definitely like to stay again.

  • A highly recommended Onsen Ryokan with attentive service.

    The staff provided consistently courteous service, and we had a very comfortable stay throughout. While the building shows its age, the interior is well cleaned and carefully maintained, which really comes through. The Onsen is spacious and open, and the amber-colored water left our skin feeling smooth; it was deeply relaxing. Both dinner and breakfast were highly satisfying—homestyle dishes, yuba (tofu skin), Sendai beef, and the tomato juice at breakfast were outstanding. The shower and bath water temperature was a bit on the hot side, but that felt like part of the authentic Onsen experience. This is an Accommodation we would gladly choose again if we have the chance to visit the area.

Our property is the only one in Togatta Onsen to offer sodium bicarbonate spring water. The gently amber-tinted, silky water is popularly known as the “beauty-skin bath.” The name “Baden” in “Badenya Soho” comes from a spa therapy system passed down in Baden-Baden, Germany. Our first owner founded this inn with the hope that guests would enjoy Togatta’s four seasons through our Onsen and leave feeling healthy in both body and mind. Please take your time and savor our signature Onsen.
