[Notice Regarding the Introduction of the Hiroshima Prefecture Accommodation Tax]
Thank you for your continued patronage of SUN HOTEL FUKUYAMA.
In accordance with the enforcement of a Hiroshima Prefecture ordinance, an Accommodation Tax will be introduced for staying guests from April 1, 2026.
Accordingly, the Accommodation Tax will be charged separately from the Accommodation Fee as outlined below. We appreciate your understanding.
■ Tax amount and taxable stays
The Accommodation Tax is levied based on the accommodation charge per person per night (excluding tax; room only).
- If the accommodation charge is JPY 6,000 or more: JPY 200
- If the accommodation charge is less than JPY 6,000: Not taxable (JPY 0)
[Examples]
If one guest stays in one room for JPY 10,000: The per-person charge is JPY 6,000 or more, so JPY 200 will be charged.
If two guests stay in one room for JPY 10,000: The per-person charge is JPY 5,000, so no Accommodation Tax applies.
*The accommodation charge does not include consumption tax, meal charges (breakfast), parking fees, or other incidental service charges.*
■ Guests exempt from taxation
No Accommodation Tax will be charged in the following cases:
- When the accommodation charge per person per night is less than JPY 6,000 (excluding tax).
- When children/pupils/students of schools defined under the School Education Act (excluding universities) stay as part of a school event (e.g., school trips) and submit the designated certificate.
■ Payment method / Receipt
Payment: Please pay at the front desk at check-in.
Accepted payment methods: Cash and credit cards/cashless payment methods accepted by our hotel.
For advance payments: Even if you have prepaid your Accommodation Fee online or via other means, the Accommodation Tax must be paid separately on-site.
Receipt: We can issue either a Receipt for only the Accommodation Tax or a Receipt showing an itemized breakdown combining it with your Accommodation Fee.
We apologize for any inconvenience this new tax may cause and sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions about this tax system, please feel free to contact us.
