This was our second stay at Kamenoi Hotel Hikone.Just like last time, the staff were wonderful and the meals were delicious, so we chose to stay here again without hesitation.This time I was traveling with my 88-year-old mother. During dinner, she said the chair backrest hurt her bones, so I asked a staff member if we could borrow a cushion. They immediately brought us a large cushion, and after that my mother was able to comfortably enjoy about an hour and a half of dining.The dishes were served one after another at just the right timing while still warm, and everything was very delicious.The next morning, when we went to the Room for breakfast and gave our room number, I was surprised to see that last night’s cushion had already been placed on the chair backrest—it truly moved me.We enjoyed a delicious breakfast with gratitude for the staff’s thoughtful care.Thank you very much.

The shop staff were also very friendly and helpful.We stayed in a Deluxe Corner View Triple (with bath), and the sunset reflected on Lake Biwa from our Room was absolutely beautiful—my parents were truly impressed by the view. The view from the large public bath on the 6th floor was also excellent. Since the Room was 50 m², it felt spacious and we could relax comfortably.Dinner was a local seasonal kaiseki course, and we were able to enjoy Omi beef sukiyaki. Everything else was delicious as well, and we were completely full. It was a shame we couldn’t try the late-night soba because we were too full—I really wanted to, as it looked so good...In the Room, there was a basket with bath towels and small towels, which we used for the large public bath. However, there was only one towel hanging by the sink, which was inconvenient since three of us were staying. At minimum, we would have liked one per person (three in total).The Shuttle Service bus was very convenient—we really appreciated being taken to Hikone Station free of charge!

This Accommodation stands on the lakeshore where gentle ripples from Japan’s largest lake, Lake Biwa, lap against the shore. On clear days, you can enjoy stunning views of Chikubu Island and Takejima floating on the lake, as well as Mt. Ibuki.
An open and airy front desk and lobby
The entrance lobby features a design inspired by the stone walls and terrain of Hikone Castle. With wall surfaces reminiscent of castle roof tiles, a reception counter styled like stone masonry, and carpeting inspired by the moat, traditional culture is reinterpreted in a modern design.

The lobby lounge features a distinctive large bench inspired by the shape of the stonework at Hikone Castle. We look forward to welcoming you for a relaxing time at the Hotel.
