The adjacent spa “Agaryanse,” featuring two private natural hot spring sources, is a popular Facility with nine types of baths, five kinds of hot stone saunas, and a spacious rest room overlooking Lake Biwa. Guests can use it free of charge. A free shuttle bus also runs from Ogoto-Onsen Station to the Accommodation for easy access. The building is old, but it felt clean. There were paintings displayed everywhere, which was lovely. The Hotel staff were also very courteous. However, after checking out, I stopped by again in the evening because I decided there was a souvenir from the Hotel that I wanted to buy. When I told a man at the front desk—someone I had not seen before—that I was not a guest with a Reservation for that day, his attitude felt a bit cold, so I deducted one star. The female front desk staff were all polite and helpful. Thank you very much.
We stayed with four adults: my parents in their 80s and my husband. The exterior felt a bit old, but the inside was well cleaned and didn’t feel dated at all. Above all, every staff member’s service was unbelievably wonderful—we were truly impressed! They handled everything kindly and courteously. The half-buffet breakfast was just right for our older household (laugh), and everything was delicious—we ate until we were full. My husband used the Hotel bath in the morning and said it was a little small, but since you can freely use Agaryanse from daytime, it wasn’t an issue. The only downside was that the elevator is small, so with luggage plus four people, not everyone can fit... (laugh). When we visit Shiga again, we will definitely stay here again.

Enjoy a luxurious space where you can relax all day—featuring one of the largest open-air baths in the Kyoto–Shiga area with panoramic views of Lake Biwa, one of Kansai’s hottest saunas, five types of stone sauna (additional 300 yen), doctor fish, carbonated baths, fitness facilities, spa treatments, a TV-equipped recliner area, library corner, dining area, popular theater performances, and more. Our facility is connected to Agaryanse via a corridor, so you can move between them even while wearing your yukata.
At Agaryanse, you can enjoy two Onsen. The first natural hot spring, “Bihada-no-Yu (Beauty Skin Bath),” is a simple hot spring at about 40°C, known for benefits such as relief of neuralgia and muscle pain, frozen shoulder, and skin-beautifying effects. The second natural hot spring, “Daiko no Fukkatsu (Revival of Lake Biwa),” is a bicarbonate and chloride hot spring at about 36.5°C, known for benefits such as minor cuts and burns, and general health promotion.
Family-friendly for guests with small children
No need to worry that you can’t use “Agaryanse” when traveling with a baby! Children under 3 and children who are not yet potty-trained may bathe in the Family Spa (separate areas for men and women).
About 5 minutes by scheduled Shuttle Service bus from JR Ogoto-Onsen Station or Hieizan-Sakamoto Station (no Reservation required). Of course, guests arriving by car are also very welcome. Free large parking lot available! Each space is 5 m × 2.5 m, making it easy to park large vehicles and vans.
