During wartime, it served as an officers' club for the army, and post-war, it was requisitioned by the U.S. military. Designated as a historic building by Otaru City and recognized as part of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's "33 Modernization Heritage Sites," this architectural gem has been brought back to life after years of closure. While preserving the nostalgic charm and architectural beauty of its historic structure, the building has undergone a bold renovation, transforming it into a boutique Hotel that reflects a modern sensibility.   • The location is great.

    We stayed here to celebrate a special anniversary. Thank you for your thoughtful hospitality. We were able to relax very comfortably. Having a coin laundry on-site also helped us have a great stay. The canal was nearby, and the location was perfect for a walk. I’m glad I was able to purchase the hotel’s Travelers Notebook goods. It became a wonderful memory for us.

    This Hotel was recommended to me by ChatGPT, which understands my preferences and personality, and I was extremely satisfied with the result.Not only were the building and interior design wonderful and stylish, but the staff were also very kind and pleasant. Breakfast was served in such a beautiful space that it took my breath away, and everything was delicious—especially the scones, which were outstanding.As this trip was for my husband’s birthday, we used the anniversary Plan. They prepared non-alcoholic champagne and a very tasty cake, making it a lovely surprise. Neither of us drinks alcohol, but if we had more time, we would have liked to visit the bar as well.Perhaps because it was a weekday in May, there were many foreign visitors both in town and among the guests. Since it rained, being able to borrow the coin laundry facilities and a shoe dryer was incredibly helpful. If I had to mention one thing, it would be helpful if there were guidance on how many minutes are needed for roughly how much laundry. (At 100 yen for 25 minutes, I suspect even one T-shirt might not fully dry...)I initially thought the price was per person but then realized it covered two people as well—which surprised me even more. There’s nowhere else where you can get this level of quality and satisfaction at this price!Thank you for such a wonderful day.
