A special time spent in a high-quality Kyoto townhouse on the famous Yasaka Street in Higashiyama, Kyoto.

Commonly known as Yasaka-no-to, the Five-Storied Pagoda of Hokanji Temple. Just about 30 meters from Yasaka Street, where you can view this iconic pagoda, lies Reikaku Yasaka. The surrounding area exudes an exceptional atmosphere, featuring Michelin-starred restaurants and other high-end dining establishments. In addition to exploring the Higashiyama area, including Kiyomizu Temple, Kodaiji Temple, and Yasaka Shrine, there are many attractions within a few minutes' walk, such as Kenninji Temple and Rokuharamitsuji Temple. The original structure of Reikaku Yasaka, a traditional Kyoto townhouse, is approximately 100 years old. It once had a height difference of 30 cm between the left and right sides of the house. While it was not in the best condition, extensive restoration work has transformed it, preserving the charm of the old townhouse while giving it new life.

The first floor features a Room with warm wooden flooring and a Japanese tatami Room where you can relax while enjoying the view of a Japanese garden crafted by professional gardeners. On the second floor, you can observe large wooden beams (commonly known as Goronbo) from the time of construction, firmly supporting the tiled roof. There are two Rooms: one with wooden flooring and one with tatami.

Reikaku Shimizu Gojo and Reikaku Yasaka

At Reikaku, you can choose between two different types of traditional townhouses. At Reikaku Kiyomizu-Gojo, you can enjoy the unique atmosphere of a neighborhood lined with similar townhouses. The townhouse itself is almost entirely preserved from 100 years ago, making it feel like a small museum. Additionally, there are many famous temples and restaurants within walking distance, so you are unlikely to feel any inconvenience. At Reikaku Yasaka, you can also enjoy the charm of a townhouse that retains the atmosphere of 100 years ago, while being just a few minutes' walk from tourist attractions and renowned restaurants.
