This high-quality Japanese-modern Room is designed for comfort and ease of use, including step-free interiors. Relax and unwind as the scenery of Lake Suwa changes from moment to moment throughout the day. *The 7th-floor suites have steps on the way to the Room. The "Mikobzen" dining course at Kamisuwa Onsen Shinyu changes its menu four times a year to reflect the seasons: spring, summer, autumn, and winter.     A Trip for Three with My 94-Year-Old Mother

    Thank you for promptly lending a wheelchair for my mother, who has difficulty walking. The uniforms were lovely, and everyone was kind. We had a Reservation for the day before the Lake Suwa Fireworks Festival, and we were glad we could see about 15 minutes of fireworks from our Room. The view from the Room was wonderful, and the open-air bath in the Room was very relaxing. However, there was some slippery buildup on the step leading into the Onsen bath, and I slipped and fell, hitting my back hard on the edge of the step. I ended up with bruising and a small cut. Adding anti-slip measures would make it safer. I’m relieved that my mother did not fall. There is no beer vending machine on site, and room service is only available until 8:30 p.m., so we were told to buy beer at a convenience store about 5–10 minutes away. This was disappointing for my husband, who wanted a beer after bathing. The barrier-free setup in the Room was very convenient. For meals, my mother loves sashimi, so it was disappointing that there wasn’t any this time. The beef shabu-shabu and eel rice were delicious. Thank you for taking care of us.

    The dinner atmosphere is like a casual Japanese pub.

    Although the dining area is described as private rooms, the partitions are only minimal, so voices carry clearly even from several sections away. As guests drank, loud laughter and conversations made it difficult to enjoy the meal. It was disappointing and felt far from a relaxing Accommodation.

    A wonderful Accommodation

    This was my first visit. From the warm welcome at the parking lot to the guidance throughout, everything felt pleasant, and the meals featured locally inspired dishes—especially the soba, which was excellent. I joined a tour because I thought visiting Suwa Taisha on my own would be difficult, starting with finding parking. Thanks to the detailed explanations and safe driving, we were able to get around smoothly even during Golden Week, and it was absolutely the right choice. It’s easy to see why Shinyu has so many repeat guests. If I have another chance to visit the Suwa area, I would love to stay again.

About Allergy Accommodations At Kamisuwa Onsen Shinyu, we have established the following three policies so that guests with allergies can enjoy their meals as safely as possible. 1. [Allergens We Can Accommodate (6 items)] We can accommodate only six of the seven specified allergens, excluding wheat: eggs, milk, shrimp, crab, peanuts, and buckwheat. If you would like this accommodation, please inform us when making your Reservation. * Please note that wheat cannot be removed because it is included in essential seasonings used in Shinshu cuisine, such as soy sauce and miso. * We are unable to accommodate ingredients other than the six items listed above. 2. [No Guarantee & Bringing Your Own Meals] Because we use the same kitchen for dishes that may contain allergens, we cannot guarantee complete removal of allergens. If you require complete elimination for safety reasons, please refrain from dining with us. Only when we are unable to provide meals due to allergies or similar reasons, guests may bring their own meals; please contact us in advance in such cases. 3. [Requests Accepted Up to 1 Week Before Check-in] If you would like allergen removal accommodations, please contact us at least one week before your stay. * Requests made shortly before arrival cannot be accommodated. * If you have any questions, please contact us directly by phone or email.
