Ako City, Hyogo Prefecture. A renovated traditional Japanese house with only 5 guest rooms.

Located in the Kariya area of Ako City, where the charm of a historic castle town still remains, this property was established as a sister inn to Ako Onsen Shiosai Kirara Shokichi. Preserving as much as possible of buildings constructed during the Meiji and Taisho periods, we spent over a year renovating them with a focus on restoring them to their finest condition of the time. Enjoy a stay that blends into the town of Ako at an unhurried pace.

  • I stayed in February, and as soon as I got home I made a Reservation for June. Last time was Nadeshiko, and this time it was Tsutsuji. The Tsutsuji Room is a maisonette, with a spacious cypress bath on the first floor. The bath was wonderfully relaxing.I had been looking forward to the meals because they were even better than expected last time. Once again, everything was delicious and very satisfying. This is an Accommodation that makes you want to try every Room, and enjoy the cuisine again in different seasons.

  • We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. It is conveniently located, within walking distance of sightseeing spots. While there is no Onsen on-site, we were able to use the Onsen at an affiliated Hotel, and Shuttle Service was provided. The Room had been nicely renovated with plenty of wood, creating a warm atmosphere. The meals were thoughtfully prepared, and we enjoyed them very much.We would definitely like to stay again.

Breakfast

[Breakfast]

Dishes finished right before your eyes in our open kitchen by our chef. Fluffy, delicious rice cooked in a traditional pot, and miso soup rich with the umami of fish stock. Our homemade tofu is served with Ako salt from spring to autumn, and as hot tofu (yudofu) in winter. Among them all, our signature item is the dashimaki tamago—rolled omelet brimming with dashi. We look forward to welcoming you with a selection of dishes that make mornings even more enjoyable.

[City Walk]

Conveniently located near Banshu-Ako Station and Otemachi Street, our property is an ideal base for exploring the town on foot. Right next door is Kagaku-ji Temple. Ako Castle Ruins, Oishi Shrine, and many other temples, shrines, and restaurants are also within walking distance. Our staff will be happy to recommend nearby places to visit and dine—please feel free to ask.

[Access]

An 8-minute walk from the nearest station, Banshu-Ako Station. Head south from the station, pass the “Oshiro-dori” intersection, then turn right at the second intersection without a traffic light (about 150 m ahead). Our property is located next to Kagakuji Temple. If you are arriving by car, we have a private gravel parking lot (approx. 12 spaces) directly in front of the property. Our property may not appear on some car navigation systems. We recommend searching for us on Google Maps. *Ako Interchange is ETC-only.
