Sky Onsen Accommodation with Rising Steam

A hidden accommodation surrounded by the great nature of Hakone, boasting the highest altitude (935m). Enjoy a soak in the milky white onsen while gazing at a sky full of stars, offering a unique "healing and breathtaking view" that only Yunohana can provide. Experience warm hospitality with modern Japanese-style rooms and seasonal cuisine that brings out the "colors" of each season.

  • Although it was my first stay, the price was affordable and I was very satisfied with the meals, the Onsen, and the location. It was a little out of the way, so it felt like being in the forest and I could relax at a leisurely pace. Thank you very much.

  • My father, who loves sulfur hot springs, has made this Hotel his favorite, and we stay here every year.Highlights of Hakone Yunohana Prince Hotel- The sulfur open-air bath, renovated last year, is spacious with a gentle sulfur scent in the air and yunohana floating on the surface.- You can enjoy free coffee in the lounge.- There is a sunken kotatsu-style table by the window in the Room, which is very convenient.Meals are served in a large banquet hall; the portions are just right and everything tastes great. In a good way, I like that there aren’t excessive Facilities or services. That said, the staff service and the Hotel itself feel exactly as you’d expect from Prince. With these features at a price lower than average, it offers outstanding value for money.

Notice from the Accommodation

  • Enjoy a summer escape at Hakone’s highest point, “Yunohana” — a cool and refreshing getaway in Hakone.

Yunohanazawa, home to Hakone Yunohana Prince Hotel, is known for its refreshingly cool summer climate—there are days even in peak midsummer (July to August) when the maximum temperature stays below 25.0°C.

    ■ “Kokusho-bi” officially named for days with maximum temperatures of 40°C or higher — Done
In recent years, extremely high summer temperatures have become increasingly common, with temperatures exceeding 40°C observed almost every year. In response, the Japan Meteorological Agency invited submissions for a name for days when the maximum temperature reaches 40°C or higher and designated them as “Kokusho-bi.”

    ■ Now accepting name ideas for midsummer days when the maximum temperature is 25.0°C or lower!
This Hotel is a cool highland retreat where you can enjoy refreshing mountain air without experiencing “Mousho-bi” (extremely hot days). Even during peak midsummer from July to August, there are days when the maximum temperature falls below 25.0°C—offering a crisp climate that hardly feels like midsummer. To help more guests discover these “special cool midsummer days,” we are inviting the public to submit name ideas for days when the maximum temperature stays below 25.0°C.
    ・Submission period: Wednesday, July 1, 2026 – Friday, July 31, 2026
・How to submit: Place your suggested name in the ballot box set up in the hotel lobby

At eye level with the clouds—and sometimes even above them—Hakone Yunohana Prince Hotel is located at one of Hakone’s highest elevations.
It is an Onsen Accommodation at Hakone’s highest altitude. At Hakone Yunohana Prince Hotel in 2025, there were only four midsummer days (30°C+) in July, five in August, and zero in September. On the Yunohana Highlands—where average temperatures are as much as 5°C lower than central Tokyo—you can relax while avoiding extreme heat and severe heat.
