In recent years, extremely high summer temperatures have become increasingly common, with temperatures exceeding 40°C observed almost every year. In response, the Japan Meteorological Agency invited submissions for a name for days when the maximum temperature reaches 40°C or higher and designated them as “Kokusho-bi.”

This Hotel is a cool highland retreat where you can enjoy refreshing mountain air without experiencing “Mousho-bi” (extremely hot days). Even during peak midsummer from July to August, there are days when the maximum temperature falls below 25.0°C—offering a crisp climate that hardly feels like midsummer. To help more guests discover these “special cool midsummer days,” we are inviting the public to submit name ideas for days when the maximum temperature stays below 25.0°C.

On the Yunohana Highlands—where average temperatures are as much as 5°C lower than central Tokyo—you can relax while avoiding extreme heat and severe heat.
