I stayed in a Casual...
I stayed in a Casual Room, but I was surprised by how small it was—more like a Business Hotel. The photos, likely taken with a wide-angle lens, made it look spacious, but in reality the space between the beds was so narrow I could only move sideways. The photo also seemed to show the beds set farther apart than they actually were, and honestly it felt close to misleading. I was also surprised that a Hotel of your class would have such a small Room, and I question whether this price is appropriate for this Room. Since it rained throughout my stay and I ended up spending most of my time inside, the cramped space felt especially difficult, and I am very disappointed.

It feels like a clean Business Hotel.
The facilities, bath area, and Room were all clean and tidy, making for a very comfortable stay. There was a great variety of food we enjoyed, along with many kinds of alcohol and drinks—it felt like a luxurious Business Hotel. The staff were very kind, and check-in and payment were smooth. The weather wasn’t great, but it was still a fun golf trip. The misty garden had an almost magical atmosphere and was lovely too.

We stayed in a room ...
We stayed in a room with an open-air bath, but it was a recirculating type where you can’t run fresh hot water yourself. It wasn’t an Onsen—just regular hot water. It made me wonder whether the tub is cleaned each time, which was a bit concerning… The buffet, though, was flawless—every dish was excellent! Each item felt carefully prepared, and everything tasted great. The fried chicken, shrimp risotto, roast beef, bread—everything was delicious. There weren’t many dessert options, but they were all tasty and I was very satisfied. The lemon tart and chocolate cake were so good that I ended up having several. The large public bath also had a great view and felt wonderful to use in the morning. The tourist spots were crowded and not that enjoyable, but the Hotel was great, so it turned into a really nice trip!

It was a satisfying stay.
We arrived a little early, but the check-in process was handled quickly and efficiently, which was very helpful. The Room was clean, and the open-air bath was very relaxing. It was also nice that the living area and bedroom could be separated with sliding doors. Although the buffet restaurant was very crowded, we were able to dine without much waiting, so it felt stress-free. The soft-serve ice cream was my favorite. Overall, it was a satisfying stay except that the shop didn’t have a wide selection of products.

Pros
Pros The food was very delicious. We chose a larger Room this time, and it was spacious and clean. The footbath in front of the front desk is very pleasant and relaxing when the weather is nice. The staff were very friendly. Points to note No matter how much we lowered the air conditioning, it quickly went back up and felt hot. My husband was too hot to stay in bed and moved to the sofa, but it seems he couldn’t sleep. We booked a Room with a large bath, but it was farthest from the front desk building, so the bath area was quite far—we only managed to go once. I think older guests or those with mobility issues should check at the time of Reservation. Although we booked a Room with a large bath, it was on the first floor and covered by trees right in front of us, so we couldn’t see Lake Ashi—the view was disappointing. There were some drawbacks, but we enjoyed the tasty buffet dishes. Next time, I’ll choose the Room more carefully— I think a Multiple Night Stay would be more enjoyable, so I’d like to come for a Multiple Night Stay. Please make it possible to adjust the room temperature properly.

Before leaving, I made a Reservation for next year.
It was a wonderful Hotel located beyond the Hakone Checkpoint, tucked away past the main sanctuary of Kuzuryu Shrine. The building is relatively new, with a bright beige-toned interior, and from the front lobby you can enjoy panoramic views of the water feature and Lake Ashi. I waited about 10 minutes in line at the staffed check-in counter, but just as it was my turn, I was told to use the check-in machine first and sent back to the entrance. I wish the staff member at the entrance had guided me correctly before I queued. Highlights - The in-Room open-air bath is ceramic and features automatic filling with water-level detection - The large public bath is clean; washing stations are separated; sauna available - Room air conditioning is perfect; air purifier provided; no beverages - The buffet is consistently high quality - Free-flow alcohol is available at night - The eel, seafood dishes, and langoustine risotto were delicious - Soft serve ice cream uses branded fresh milk - Coffee machine and chilled tea are also available - Staff service was smooth, including clearing dishes promptly - They took a photo of my wife and me together by the water feature Next time, I’d like to take a walk around Lake Ashi and visit Kuzuryu Shrine’s main sanctuary.

Perfect!
• This was my third stay, the first in a year. • It’s one of my favorite places to escape the heat during the summer. • The ingredients seemed better than they were a year ago. Everything was delicious. • The chopsticks have been changed to ones with built-in rests, which was convenient. • Dinner is served in time slots, and with the numbered ticket system as well, so there was no need to wait in line unnecessarily—very nice. • In the large public bath, the body wash, shampoo, and treatment bottles were labeled “B.S.C,” which made them easy to identify. • I could see that various improvements are being made day by day. • Nothing felt lacking or excessive—it was just right, and I had a very comfortable stay!

The Facility is lovely, but there were many small issues for the price, which was disappointing.
I stayed with my daughter. The Accommodation was stylish and very clean, the staff were pleasant, and the food was delicious—there were many great points. However, considering the Accommodation Fee, there were several disappointing details in the service and operations. What concerned me most was the Shuttle Service from Odawara Station. In advance, I received an email saying it would be “in the plaza near the statue inside the West Exit (Shinkansen Exit) rotary,” but as a first-time user of Odawara Station, the entire rotary looked like a “plaza,” and I couldn’t tell where to wait. Although I arrived 15 minutes before departure, I couldn’t find the bus. Even when I received a call from the Hotel and was told it was a “blue bus,” there were multiple blue buses visible from the station, so it still took time to locate it. More specific guidance—such as “directly under the statue”—would be helpful. Also, while the bus had “Hanaori” signage, there was no sign on the right side of the vehicle (the side visible from inside/outside of the station). The signs near the left-side door and in the window above-left of where the driver sits were not visible from that direction either. If “Hanaori” were displayed on both sides of vehicle body including right side facing station , it would be much easier to find. In addition, it seemed that driver was speaking with someone at Hotel on smartphone; seeing us arrive he said something like ,“Ah two people just came.” Since shuttle drivers are often first staff guests encounter before arriving at Hotel ,I felt more appropriate phrasing such as,“They have arrived now,” would better suit hospitality standards. There were also other small issues: toothpaste residue that appeared to have been left by previous guest remained in sink area (which shocked me), facial steamer/beauty device in room could not be operated based on manual alone and did not work when switched on (after trying various things we realized it worked once water added),and there were unnatural iron creases on yukata collar so we requested replacement. These minor shortcomings added up. Each issue alone is small, but having several occur during same stay left impression that for this price range, the operational attention to detail is lacking. The cleanliness, the meals, and friendliness of staff are all strong points, and my daughter enjoyed her stay very much. However for me,it fell short in terms professional service commensurate with price.I hope this Accommodation will continue improving its service further.

At the end of summer
I made a Reservation the day before and visited. It was so good that I’m leaving this as a record. I forgot to pick up my key during the self check-in, and a kind, smiling staff member who spoke fluent Japanese helped me out. Since I arrived around 5:00 p.m., there was only one parking space left. Thinking dinner might be in trouble too, I quickly made a Reservation using the QR code shown at check-in. I managed to get the last available 6:15 p.m. slot and went straight to the bath—so I was rushing a bit. The view from my Room was of the parking lot, so in the end I spent more time enjoying the bath and relaxing in the lobby with its great views. The baths switch between men and women early in the morning, and both sides have spacious open-air baths. The breeze over the reclining bath was wonderful, and in the morning—with light rain and insects chirping—it was perfect. Since there’s no roof over the open-air area, heavy rain would be a bit tough. I couldn’t find a shower cap, so I covered my hair with two towels as protection from the rain while bathing outside. Having towels available in the bathing area was really appreciated, and it felt like an advantage over other Accommodation options. Dinner felt like it had slightly fewer choices, but everything was delicious—especially the skirt steak, clam rice (and maybe eel), plus soft-serve ice cream. Alcohol is self-serve with a wide selection; there were even some surprisingly good sake labels, which made me happy. This is just my personal request, but it would be great if you could add one more type of white wine. For breakfast, expecting crowds, I went just after 7:00—but that turned out to be a mistake. Holding my tray, I stood in line for ages; I think it took more than 20 minutes before I could even get food. Being able to drink beer from morning makes this an ideal place for guests on a Multiple Night Stay. Next time, I'd like to stay in a larger Room with an Ashinoko Lake view.

It was even better than I expected.
This was my first stay, and thanks to the early-booking discount, I was able to stay at a very reasonable price. From the moment I arrived at the front desk, the staff’s warm smiles and hospitality were truly relaxing. The Room was very clean, and what surprised me most was that, for this great value, all towels for the large public bath were provided in the bath area—an impressive service. Dinner, which I had been looking forward to, featured seasonal ingredients with delicious seasoning that brought out their natural flavors, and the restaurant staff were very attentive and made it a pleasant experience. I used the free Shuttle Service to Odawara; even between checkout and departure time, they stored my luggage and there was a complimentary café service near the front desk—overall it exceeded my expectations. I would love to stay again with friends or family.

The best.
From the moment we arrived, the front desk provided thorough and attentive explanations.\nThe view was, needless to say, outstanding.\nThe bath was also great—both towels and bath towels were always stocked there, so we didn’t need to bring any from the Room.\nEvery meal was delicious, and the French-style plated dishes were wonderful as well.\nThis is an Accommodation we’d love to return to.\nThank you very much for your warm hospitality.

A bit disappointing.
First, the front desk staff were Chinese, and I couldn’t understand what they were saying at all. The meals were also more disappointing than the Reviews suggested. It was a clean Hotel, but it felt like a maze.

It was great.
There were self-service machines for check-in and check-out, but overall it was very good. Since it was a casual room, it felt a bit small, but there was an open-air bath on the balcony, so I could rinse off sweat right away and even take a nap. For dinner, I had the new experience of scanning a QR code to reserve a time slot. The dinner selection was extensive and delicious. The desserts were also plentiful, so I ate too much. The large public bath had plenty of towels replenished and was clean and enjoyable. I would like to stay again.

We had a relaxing stay.
This was a Hotel I had been wanting to stay at, so I rated it highly overall, including the joy of finally being able to visit. The Room was clean, and it was nice to take off our shoes and relax. The bath area, including the changing room, also felt very clean, and the open-air bath was spacious and pleasant to use. It was also convenient that we didn’t need to bring towels from the Room. We enjoyed both the breakfast and dinner buffets. The reason for giving it a 4 is that at check-in, the front desk staff member didn’t make much eye contact and it felt rushed and somewhat like an assembly line, which bothered me since I had been looking forward to coming. As for dining, there were many dishes that adults could enjoy, but at dinner there were few options with flavors suitable for children, so I included that in my rating as well. We learned partway through our stay that if we asked the staff they could prepare a children’s plate; when we requested one, they kindly accommodated us. We really appreciated it. Overall we had a comfortable stay—it was a Hotel I’m glad we tried and would like to visit again.

This is an Accommodation you’ll want to stay at again.
We stayed during the summer vacation period for a three-generation family trip. Even when it was busy, check-in/out was smooth thanks to self-service machines in addition to the front desk. The international staff also spoke polite Japanese, which left a great impression. The Room was clean and well maintained, and we didn’t notice noise from neighboring rooms. (You can hear some voices in the hallway.) Water is provided from a purifier/dispenser, so there are no bottled waters. The samue loungewear, baskets, and sandals can be used throughout the Hotel, so we were able to relax the entire time. All of the food was delicious, and with many live cooking stations we could enjoy freshly made hot dishes as well. The sashimi, eel, roast beef, and more were especially good. Drinks including alcohol were included in both dinner and breakfast buffets, so my father—who loves drinks—was very satisfied. It was our first time at a Hotel that offers alcohol in the morning; for guests on a Multiple Night Stay or those who aren’t driving, being able to drink from morning feels like quite a luxury. Towels are available at the footbath area and Onsen inside the Hotel, so it was great to be able to drop by empty-handed. The ice cream on the parfait we ate on the scenic footbath terrace was incredibly delicious! Everyone in our family was very happy—it became a memorable trip. Thank you very much.

Always very satisfied.
We have stayed here every year during the Obon holiday period for three consecutive years. The delicious buffet and the private bath I enjoyed with my son—everything was consistently excellent and we were very satisfied. We will definitely visit again. One small request: it would be helpful if the Japanese labels on the shampoo and other amenities in the large public bath could be printed in slightly larger text, as I couldn’t read them due to age-related farsightedness (laugh).

A summer getaway to Hakone to celebrate my wife’s birthday.
I’ve visited Hakone several times on day trips, but this time we took a three-day, two-night summer getaway before my wife’s birthday. We used a hometown tax donation coupon and enjoyed a Multiple Night Stay at Haori. It was a wonderful Accommodation that lived up to its reputation. We also received an unexpected Room upgrade, and were able to relax in a spacious Room and spend a truly restful time. It became a memorable trip—thank you very much. The morning footbath terrace felt exceptionally refreshing.

An extensive buffet selection!!
The dinner and breakfast buffet were extremely satisfying. There was a wide variety, and every dish was very delicious. Since the portions are served in small sizes, you can try a lot of different items. Drinks are also all-you-can-drink, so you can enjoy them without holding back. It was also nice that we were guided to our seats at the entrance. The panoramic view of Lake Ashi from the Room was very relaxing. However, it was inconvenient that cosmetic amenities could only be used by going to the bath area. Also, it was disappointing that the Room cleaning was not thorough and there were hairs left behind.

Beautiful view
The Hotel itself was clean and well maintained. The guest room entrance was narrow, so it was a bit difficult to take shoes on and off and to move luggage in and out. As our room faced the lake, we enjoyed a great view and could relax. The meals were beautifully presented, well seasoned, and delicious. The bath was also spacious and relaxing. However, it was a little confusing at times when going between the main building and the accommodation wing, and we occasionally got lost.

Request for a reserved breakfast time slot
Breakfast is extremely crowded from 7:30 to 8:30, and entry is restricted at the entrance. Guests must take a number and wait, resulting in many people standing in front of the entrance for a long time. Some guests even felt unwell or had to return to their Room, and the line did not move smoothly. I strongly suggest introducing a breakfast Reservation system at check-in, along with dinner preferences. Even if the stay is otherwise pleasant, no one wants to leave with an unpleasant memory from the final meal. Please make improvements so that guests can enjoy their next visit comfortably. Other than that, I consider it a very good Hotel.

Just one more step.
We stayed as a group of four across three generations, including my elderly mother-in-law, using two Rooms. We usually choose small Hotels or Ryokan, but this time we opted for a large Hotel with breakfast and dinner buffets because my mother-in-law’s mobility has declined and she now needs some assistance. So we checked in thinking that as long as it was “worth the price,” that would be fine, without expecting much hospitality. However, perhaps reflecting Japan’s recent inbound tourism trends, there were many international staff members—and I was impressed by how sincere and courteous their service was, even more so than many Japanese staff. [Guest Rooms] The Room was clean. Aside from a single step at the entrance where you remove your shoes, the interior was barrier-free, which felt very considerate for older guests. We did have a few minor issues—no toilet slippers set in my mother-in-law’s Room, an unlocked window latch, and an in-room phone that wasn’t working—but everything was addressed promptly. It also seemed the information was shared among staff properly; I felt their system for handling issues is well established. [Large Public Bath] There were plenty of washing stations. The Onsen is diluted and heated, but it was clean and comfortable to use. [Lobby] The outdoor reflecting pool in the lobby area is a well-known photo spot online. However, the adjacent footbath area was almost always full at night because multiple overseas families sat there for long periods drinking beverages. If you want to use the footbath seating, it may be better to go around check-in or check-out time. [Other] We did not use the spa services. What disappointed us most was the lack of a proper shop. There are no convenience stores within walking distance around Kojiri. Yet inside the Hotel there is only a small “souvenir corner” near the front desk—this was very disappointing, and I hope they expand it. Another point is having places to relax outside of your Room. A nearby TAOYA property is all-inclusive; this Hotel is not (it simply offers free alcohol during dinner and breakfast). Still, aside from the Rooms and baths, there really isn’t anywhere to spend time (laugh). Even if paid options were available, I wish there were more spaces—for example by making better use of part of the free rest area near the large public bath. That’s why I rated Facilities/amenities 3 stars. Overall though, I felt it’s a good Hotel at an affordable price. Thank you for taking care of us.

It was a comfortable Accommodation.
This was our first stay as a family of three. Just like the photos on the website, the view was wonderful, and the Room was clean and not outdated. Since you take off your shoes before entering the Room, we could relax without feeling tense. In the morning our child fell off the sofa bed, but because it was a tatami area, it didn’t seem to hurt. The Accommodation itself wasn’t large and felt cozy, so getting to meals and the bath was easy. When we went to the lobby in the evening, there was even a violin performance—it was lovely! Many of the staff were from overseas, but everyone spoke excellent Japanese and assisted us politely. On the other hand, we didn’t have a great impression of one Japanese staff member at the dining venue. The coffee machine wasn’t working, so I asked someone nearby for help, but there was no communication such as “Please wait” or “This should be fine.” They put in coffee beans and pressed buttons several times, but it still wouldn’t start…? In the end I managed to get it working myself, but I would have appreciated a kinder response. The food—both fish dishes and side dishes—was very delicious, and especially the sweets exceeded our expectations! Each dessert portion was small (which was ideal since I wanted to try many). The pudding was silky smooth, and for the almond tofu dessert (annindofu), the peach on top was very juicy—far beyond typical dinner buffet desserts; it felt like dessert-shop quality!! There were a few things that differed from what we had confirmed in advance via chat on their website, but overall it’s an Accommodation we’d definitely like to visit again. Next time we’d love to invite our parents and stay again.

Hmm.
I stayed here several times about two years ago. Back then, the dinner buffet had many small dishes, and I remember it feeling very Japanese. This time, after a long break, I was a bit disappointed. The alcohol is now self-serve, and there are more large shared platters, so it felt like it has moved away from what it used to be. I understand there may be cost considerations, but I would appreciate having the option to select alcohol for an additional fee and a better variety of small dishes. The staff were very kind and helpful.

Evolving.
This was about my fifth stay. This time it coincided with a fireworks festival, and I got to enjoy the luxury of watching the Lake Ashi fireworks from my Room! What I love about Hanaori is being able to relax all day in samue loungewear. And when it comes to Hanaori, the highlight is definitely the food. The menu changes in various ways each time I visit. When it first opened and I visited for the first time, everything was so delicious that I ate too much (laugh). Nothing felt pre-made; rather than typical Hotel-style cuisine, my impression was that high-quality ingredients were carefully prepared, and it was truly delicious. However, at that time the desserts were a bit underwhelming compared with the rest. From around my previous visit, the dessert quality improved, and this time every dessert was delicious—I felt they had really stepped up their game. I was also happy to see that even the soft-serve ice cream, which had been just so-so before, had improved. There were so many options that it was almost too much (for both my stomach and choosing). Since I’m the type who wants to try everything, you might even consider narrowing down the selection of desserts. Even when I wanted seconds, I couldn’t finish them all (laugh). Overall, I’d felt like the meals had gradually declined compared with my first stay. This time there was no hassun course platter anymore, but the content was better than last time and very tasty! It made me want to come again. I could really feel your wonderful efforts—constantly improving through creativity and evolution. I’m looking forward to what’s next. Thank you for such an enjoyable and comfortable stay.

A long-awaited return visit—more satisfying than ever.
This was our first return in about seven years, and it had become all-inclusive with complimentary drinks. Even better, the craft beer we love was also free, which made us even more satisfied. The private bath was clean and we were very pleased. We also used the bath included for the next morning, but it was a little disappointing that it wasn’t an Onsen. Overall, though, we were more satisfied than before and would like to visit every year.

The meals were delicious, and there was a wide variety of desserts, all of which were excellent. However, it was a long walk from the Room to the main floor. With slippers that were difficult to walk in, getting to meals and the bath felt far and inconvenient.

We celebrated our anniversary.
We stayed as a family to celebrate my mother’s 88th birthday. From the time of our Reservation, you kindly helped us with various requests and arranged a Room that made it as easy as possible for my elderly mother to get around. I called several times with questions, and everything had been properly noted, so the conversations went smoothly. Our stay was very comfortable. There were several staff members in training, and they all assisted us with great care. They also took commemorative photos for us several times. We would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

Maybe I expected too much?
I made a Reservation because it was a Hotel around Lake Ashi with good Reviews, but I ended up disappointed—perhaps because my expectations were too high. Disappointing points The hallway in the accommodation building was hot. The lounge area after exiting the large public bath was unusually humid and hot, so I hurried back to my Room. Was there a mechanical failure? The buffet did not meet expectations. The salad was not fresh, with dried vegetables on display, and the steak was tough and not tasty. Even the rice didn’t feel flavorful. The eel varied in quality and sometimes had small bones, which was disappointing. There were no black soybean natto—only regular natto. The fruit selection was average. Since I don’t drink alcohol, I wanted more non-alcohol options—not only non-alcoholic beer, but also non-alcoholic plum wine or cocktails. At the footbath area, the floor-chair mat was left wet, so I used it with a towel underneath. I would have appreciated staff checking regularly and replacing it with a dry mat. Good points Lake Ashi and Togendai Port were right in front of us. The staff service was good. Our Room on the 5th floor of the accommodation building near the lobby had a great view. Bath towels and face towels were provided in the large public bath. For those planning to stay here, I recommend reading Reviews carefully and considering lower ratings as well as high ones—especially recent Reviews rather than older ones. The buffet is also rated lower than before; don’t come expecting gourmet food. I am intentionally leaving these candid comments in hopes that the manager and staff will make improvements.

We had a wonderful time.
This is my favorite Hotel. The Onsen is spacious and relaxing, the meals are delicious, and there is a great variety of desserts. With the all-inclusive plan, drinks are unlimited as well, so I was very satisfied. The menu had changed since my last visit, and I was glad to see the beef steak return and to enjoy piping-hot tantan noodles. The only slight disappointment was that the free massage chairs I had been looking forward to were removed. Thank you for preparing a souvenir in my Room this time as well. I will continue to stay here in the future.
