At the foot of Mount Rokko lies Arima Onsen, said to be the oldest in Japan. The kunugi tree, with its budding, fresh green, autumn leaves, and bare branches, may symbolize the joys of the seasons. Two golden hot springs with different mineral compositions and a radon-rich silver spring spread out as if hidden within the forest. Enjoy moments of relaxation, rest, and conversation amidst the natural hot springs and serene environment.

    From the person who greeted us outside the Ryokan to the Shuttle Service staff, the front desk, and the Room attendant, every staff member we interacted with was pleasant and courteous, which made our stay very comfortable. Every dish was delicious, and we enjoyed each one with delight. The Onsen also had both Kinsen and Ginsen baths, plus an open-air bath—completely satisfying. I recommended it to my parents as soon as I got home!

  • It’s been a while since I last visited Choraku.

    I stayed in a newly renovated Room and enjoyed a brief escape from everyday life, surrounded by the warmth of wood. Choraku is an Accommodation where you can enjoy both the gold and silver hot springs, so if you’re looking for a place to stay in Arima, I would recommend Choraku without hesitation. Flowers were beautifully arranged throughout the building, and their thoughtful hospitality was truly appreciated. The meal served in the Room was delicious, and I especially enjoyed the fun conversation while they explained each dish—I couldn’t stop laughing. The extra-large TV wasn’t working properly, but the front desk staff came right away and fixed it. Shortly after I returned home, I received a thank-you letter from Choraku. I travel often, but I have never stayed anywhere with such attentive service. I also booked through IKYU.com, and there was a surprise roast beef dish at dinner. I would like to take this opportunity to thank IKYU.com as well.

    Friday, July 10 to Sunday, September 6, 2026 (tentative)

    This open-air pool uses natural radon spring water and was renovated in 2022, surrounded by the greenery of Arima.

    Please enjoy activities suited to your condition, such as sunbathing, Onsen bathing, exercise bathing, and water walking.

    *Please refrain from moving around inside the building in swimwear only. Be sure to wear a cover-up when coming to and from the pool.

    Pool size: 25 m (length) × 15 m (width) × 1.2 m (depth).

    Children may not use the pool on their own; please enter with an accompanying adult.

    The entrance/exit is located in front of the elevator on the 3rd floor of the West Wing.

    [For guests staying at our Accommodation] *If you wish to use the pool, please inform the front desk at check-in.

    Free hours: On your stay date 14:00–17:00 / Next morning 9:00–10:30
