    The carefully prepared healthy cuisine, the clean and stylish Room, the luxurious amenities, and the bath where you can relax while listening to the gentle murmur of the river—everything was deeply satisfying and made for a truly wonderful stay.What left the strongest impression on me was the hospitality of all the staff. There were several international staff members as well, and seeing them serve guests earnestly in Japanese and make an effort to embrace Japanese culture was truly heartwarming.This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again. Thank you very much for such a wonderful time.

  • It was a wonderfully relaxing stay.

    We stayed here to celebrate my sister’s birthday, and it was a deeply satisfying 3-day, 2-night stay that truly refreshed both body and mind in a nature-filled setting. The Room was very clean, and we enjoyed listening to the kajika frogs from the balcony and relaxing to the sound of the river as time passed slowly. The in-room bath was wonderful, but the open-air bath (Reservation required) was exceptional. Seeing fireflies after dinner on both nights became a lifelong memory.The meals—both dinner and breakfast—were simply outstanding. Everything was delicious, and we looked forward to every meal and finished every bite with excitement. Each dish felt like art, and it tasted just as amazing. Thank you for such a feast.The staff’s hospitality was truly top-class, and we felt comfortable from start to finish. What stayed with me most was after check-out: they saw us off and kept waving until our car disappeared from view. My sister and I left feeling genuinely grateful, and even after leaving the Ryokan, we remained filled with happiness.We would love to return whenever we need to soothe our hearts again.

Notice from the Accommodation

To provide a more comfortable, higher-quality stay, we have reviewed our services. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, but the following changes will take effect as outlined below.

1. Changes to the welcome drink service (effective February 19, 2026)
Until now, we have delivered welcome drinks to your Room. Going forward, we will use that time to better assist you with guidance and explanations during your arrival.
Instead, we will increase the variety of tea bags provided in your Room so you can enjoy them at your preferred time.

2. Change to usage time for the private open-air bath “Yuba Issun” (effective March 1, 2026)
To ensure smooth turnover between guests and maintain a clean environment, each session will be changed from 30 minutes to 25 minutes. The remaining 5 minutes will be used for turnover and light cleaning.

3. Change to Reservation method for the private open-air bath “Yuba Issun” (effective March 1, 2026)
To reduce congestion at check-in, the Reservation method for the private open-air bath will be updated. You will be able to make a Reservation from your Room via QR code. The maximum number of sessions remains unchanged at up to two.

4. Discontinuation of Diamond member benefits (effective February 2026)
As part of this service review, IKYU.com Diamond member benefits will end from February 2026 onward. Reservations already made will remain eligible as before.

Yamado is located right in the middle between the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Japan. As a result, fresh ingredients from various regions gather here. We are delighted to serve you with specialty ingredients from the northeastern Tohoku region, including the "Ginsatsu" brand chicken developed in collaboration with Yamado in Nishiwaga, Iwate, and the "Shirokinton" brand pork, a pride of Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture.

This area, stretching from Iwate to Aomori, is considered the birthplace of "Matagi." Matagi are true masters of the mountains, with unparalleled knowledge of nature. We source rare mountain game from them and dedicate extraordinary time and effort—many times more than usual—to craft it into exquisite culinary masterpieces.

In November 2017, the premium local chicken brand "Ginsetsu" was born in Nishiwaga, Iwate. Yamado played a role in its development. The rare local chicken "Nanbu Kashiwa" is raised stress-free in the cool summer climate and with mineral-rich snowmelt water. Through carefully researched processing methods, it has been crafted into <Local Chicken Ginsetsu>, renowned for its refined and exquisite flavor.

    The number of available slots remains unchanged: up to two slots per guest room—one on the check-in day and one the following morning.

    As part of our service review and operational adjustments, we regretfully inform you that benefits for IKYU.com Diamond members will end from February 2026.

■By train / From Tokyo: Take the JR Tohoku Shinkansen to Kitakami Station, transfer to the JR Kitakami Line, get off at Hotto-Yuda Station, then take a taxi or local bus (about 10 minutes).
From Akita: Take the JR Ou Main Line to Yokote Station, transfer to the JR Kitakami Line, and get off at Hotto-Yuda Station.

■By car / From Tokyo: From the Tohoku Expressway, take the Akita Expressway via Kitakami JCT. Exit at Yuda IC and head toward Yukawa Onsen. About 15 minutes from Yuda IC.
From Akita: Exit the Akita Expressway at Yuda IC and head toward Yukawa Onsen.

■By air / There are flights to Akita Airport from Haneda, Osaka (Itami), Nagoya (Komaki), Nagoya (Chubu Centrair), Sapporo (New Chitose), and Seoul (Incheon). From Akita Airport, we recommend renting a car: take the Nihonkai-Tohoku Expressway from Akita Airport IC via Kawabe JCT toward Kitakami on the Akita Expressway. Exit at Yuda IC and head toward Yukawa Onsen. About 1 hour 25 minutes from the airport.
There are flights to Iwate Hanamaki Airport from Osaka (Itami) and Sapporo (New Chitose). From Iwate Hanamaki Airport, we recommend renting a car: take the Kamaishi Expressway from Hanamaki Airport IC via Hanamaki JCT onto the Tohoku Expressway toward Tokyo. At Kitakami JCT enter the Akita Expressway, exit at Yuda IC, and head toward Yukawa Onsen. About 1 hour from the airport.
