Enjoy a rejuvenating getaway for body and mind at a secluded, 13-room hot spring Accommodation with two gardens and its own private natural hot spring source.

Throughout your stay, we aim to offer more than relaxation—an experience that helps you and your loved ones become more beautiful. Drawing on the power of nature—local ingredients, Onsen, and our two gardens—we create moments that nurture beauty. Beauty takes many forms: outward qualities such as firmer skin, shinier hair, and a lifted appearance, as well as inner wellness such as detoxification, peace of mind, and renewed intellectual curiosity. Stroll through our two gardens and enjoy seasonal flowers and dappled sunlight—unwind your mind while giving your body a pleasant sense of exertion. Revitalize your skin, hair, and spirit with the renowned Okunetsukawa hot spring waters flowing directly from our private source, along with our in-house bath amenities “Yumoribito.” Savor carefully selected Izu seafood and the region’s distinctive mountain vegetables grown across its varied elevations. Enjoy gastronomic cuisine that delights both eye and palate, bringing energy to body and soul. As the journey lingers in memory, so does a sense of beauty in both mind and body. We invite you to experience it for yourself.

  • Although it is located in a place that is hard to reach without navigation—after driving quite a while up a narrow uphill road from the national highway—once you step onto the property, you immediately feel like you are at an Izu Onsen. The sound of wind chimes in the lobby eased half of my driving fatigue, and while the large public bath and open-air bath were of course wonderful, the indoor bath in the Room was exceptional and completely melted away my tiredness. The bathtub, water volume, and water temperature were all perfect. Another highlight you can’t experience in a city apartment was the sheer amount and power of hot water from the shower—it was impressive. Dinner featured an excellent salt-grilled ayu and lava-grilled beef, along with a variety of dishes served on many different plates that were fun to look at. And the rice was delicious.

  • We stayed here to celebrate my husband’s birthday, as he loves Onsen. They picked us up at Izu-Atagawa Station, and noticing that my husband had difficulty going up and down stairs, they kindly drove us around to an entrance where we could enter the Accommodation without climbing the stone steps. The semi-open-air bath in our Room was also fed directly from the source, and we thoroughly enjoyed plenty of hot water. A bathrobe was provided as well, which we were very happy about. At the large public bath, both towels and bath towels were available, and there was even a small pouch you can use when going to the dining area—overall, we felt their attention to detail was excellent. The meals were served at just the right pace, and everything remained delicious through to the end.As a birthday surprise, they took photos of us during dinner and gifted them to us in a photo frame—thank you very much. The photo included the date and a comment, making it a wonderful keepsake. This is an Accommodation we were truly satisfied with and would definitely like to visit again.

A free-flowing Onsen fed directly from the source, carefully tended by our bath steward.

To deliver the finest free-flowing Onsen straight from the source, it takes essential expertise that factors in the day’s weather, air temperature, and the condition of the Onsen itself. While most Accommodations have abandoned this craft and rely on mechanical control, we have remained committed—since our main branch was founded over a century ago—to temperature and Onsen management by skilled artisans known as “Yumori.” Keeping a natural spring source of around 100°C at a consistently perfect bathing temperature is, in fact, an extremely difficult task to maintain throughout the year as daily weather and temperatures change. Human skin is so sensitive that even a 1°C difference from the ideal 42°C can feel “too hot” or “too lukewarm.” With the sincere wish for every guest to enjoy an Onsen that is always just right, our Yumori measure and adjust the temperature each day by hand at the wrist. Even across Japan, Yumori are rare. Please experience this traditional Japanese craftsmanship that has nearly been lost.

Mikagami Terrace

To celebrate our 110th anniversary, we installed a reflecting pool on the lounge terrace in July 2024 and renewed it as the Mikagami (Water Mirror) Terrace. You can now enjoy reflections of the garden on the water’s surface. In the evening, it is illuminated. We named it the Mikagami (Water Mirror) Terrace because the water looks like a mirror. On the surface of the black reflecting pool, you can see seasonal reflections: fresh greenery, hydrangeas, and rhododendrons from April to June; crape myrtle and wind chimes in August; and autumn leaves in November. At the center of the reflecting pool on the Mikagami Terrace, we have placed roots from a 200–300-year-old Japanese cypress tree. These roots were gifted to us after trees were felled during renovations at Jisho-in Temple in this area. Like our garden and trees, the Mikagami Terrace will also be refreshed with seasonal changes to its furniture and décor throughout the year. Please feel free to stop by for a relaxing break before or after your stroll through the garden.

Bamboo Grove Garden “Hidamari”

The bamboo grove garden “Hikaridamari” rests within a primeval bamboo forest and a woodland of towering trees such as zelkova. Inspired by the dappled sunlight filtering through the trees and the gentle glow of bamboo lanterns, we named it Hikaridamari. In addition to the large trees and bamboo, a variety of seasonal plants take root here, including hydrangeas and autumn foliage. We offer spaces where you can immerse yourself in nature, such as an approximately 200-meter bamboo path, a dappled-light terrace, and gazebos. Bamboo crafts—such as bamboo lanterns and woven bamboo spheres—are placed throughout the grounds and are illuminated at night. By day, enjoy the sunlight while listening to the stream and rustling leaves; by night, under the lights, discover an entirely different atmosphere.

Japanese-Style Garden Hagoromo

The Japanese-style garden “Hagoromo” is surrounded by a wide variety of plants, from trees and flowers to moss. In Satsuki, it is dressed in fresh greenery; in Kannazuki, in autumn leaves—changing its attire with each season. Inspired by this “leaf robe,” we named it Hagoromo. Within Hagoromo, walking paths are fully equipped so you can enjoy a more comfortable stroll. In addition, many of the lounge areas and Rooms are designed to overlook Hagoromo. Please enjoy its seasonal attire as you stroll through the garden, from the lounge, or from your Room.
