Sukiya-style detached house

The detached houses scattered throughout the garden of Kotohira Kadan, a Property established in the 4th year of Kan'ei, serve as symbolic representations of the inn. Various highlights are featured, including hanging scrolls of Kanzan and Jittoku, paintings by Komuro Suiun, and Edo-period fusuma paintings. These detached houses, where literary figures and artists such as Mori Ōgai, Kitahara Hakushū, and Yosano Akiko stayed during their visits from the Meiji to early Shōwa periods, offer a serene setting. As you gaze upon the garden, which vividly reflects the seasons with plum and cherry blossoms in early spring, fresh greenery in early summer, autumn foliage, and a snowy landscape in winter, you may find yourself envisioning the scenes of Kotohira once depicted by these literary greats. It might even feel as though you've traveled back in time.

Fujimidai, Shougetsu Terrace, Sansuikaku

Three accommodation wings are situated around the garden: Fujimidai, Shogetsu Terrace, and Sansuikaku. Each offers uniquely styled rooms. Fujimidai features a variety of room types to suit the purpose of your trip, including Japanese-style rooms, special Japanese-Western rooms, and rooms with open-air baths. The rooms at Shogetsu Terrace are spacious Western-style rooms with views of the temple town and Sanuki Fuji. Additionally, the rooms at Sansuikaku, renovated in 2019, allow guests to enjoy the charming scenery of the Japanese garden, which changes its expression with the seasons.

Konpira Onsenkyo is a hot spring area located in Kotohira Town, known for the Kotohira-gu Shrine and Konpira Kabuki Theater.

In the warm climate, Kagawa's renowned brands such as "Sanuki Mitsuchiku" (Sanuki beef, Olive pork, Sanuki chicken) are carefully cultivated, along with fresh seafood from the Seto Inland Sea, mountain delicacies from Kagawa, and the famous Sanuki Udon noodles. The spacious Garden Lounge on the 3rd floor of the Shogetsu Terrace, where you can relax freely during your stay, is filled with the sounds of jazz and equipped with Facilities such as a library and massage chairs to ensure a comfortable time. From the terrace, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Sanuki Fuji and the townscape of Kotohira, as well as a footbath called "Tsukimidai," where you can leisurely gaze at the beautiful moon floating in the night sky. In the detached spa "Bankunmei," nestled in the garden, you can relieve daily fatigue and stress, promoting both mental and physical well-being.
