Known as the Ryokan that hosts major shogi title matches such as the Kisei Championship, our property is registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of Japan. The atmosphere of this former Edo-period village headman’s residence lets time pass slowly and helps you forget the bustle of everyday life for a while. Please relax in extraordinary spaces such as the Shuhitsu-no-Ma room where Emperor Meiji once took a rest, and our lobby with an irori hearth that has marked time for over 280 years. Departs our Accommodation at 10:00 In time for MAX Toki No.318 departing at 11:37 Shuttle Service to Iwamuro Station and Yahiko Station is also available between 15:00–17:30. *In November and during the first three days of New Year’s, shuttle service to Yahiko is not available due to heavy congestion around Yahiko. ■Cuisine■ *Dinner / Kaiseki cuisine expressing the essence of Japanese culinary artistry will be delivered course by course to your Room. *Depending on party size, you may be asked to dine in a private dining room. “Each dish is carefully prepared with delicate technique—kaiseki cuisine that expresses the essence of Japanese cooking.” Because we decide each menu based on high-quality ingredients procured on the day, we do not set the contents until then—this is our head chef’s commitment! Making full use of Niigata’s fish, vegetables, rice, and seasonal ingredients available that day, we deliver “the best flavors of each season” with sincere care. *Yahiko Shrine: approx. 10 minutes by car (travel time may increase due to traffic depending on season such as New Year visits). ■Large Public Bath■ Surrender yourself to a bath scented with ancient hinoki cypress; before you know it, your mind will gently unwind.
