At Hotel Neuschloss Otaru, all 58 guest rooms, whether Japanese-Western style or Western style, feature a private open-air bath. I made a Reservation for the Junior Suite (Double, Non-Smoking) (Double). The Room was cute with a great view, and my girlfriend was thrilled. Thank you for changing our dinner from in-room dining to a window-side table at the restaurant where we could see the sunset. The French cuisine and drinks while watching the sunset were exceptional. The sommelier explained the dishes and wines in detail, which made everything even more enjoyable. The bath in the Room was wonderful as well—everything was perfect. When I come to Otaru, I will definitely want to stay at this Accommodation again.
We stayed in a corner Japanese-Western style Room.It was very spacious and relaxing.The in-Room bath also had a large tub, so we could soak comfortably.It’s a bit dated, but we liked the retro atmosphere.Both dinner and breakfast were delicious.In particular, the Shiraoi beef filet steak was very filling and we were completely satisfied! The seafood appetizer was well seasoned, the abalone was large, and everything was delicious!The breakfast pot-au-feu had a gentle flavor and felt comforting. We were also happy to be able to enjoy sparkling wine in the morning—and it was delicious!One disappointing thing was that although all Rooms are non-smoking, there was a slight smell of cigarette smoke.I’m not sure if someone broke the rules or if it wasn’t non-smoking in the past, but since we don’t usually smoke or stay around smoke, it stood out. To be honest, it was only “kind of… (cigarettes?)” level, but because we would definitely like to stay here again next time as well, I wanted to mention it in hopes that it can be improved.It’s a little away from central Otaru, but with a car it’s no problem at all. With its quiet setting and wonderful views, we highly recommend it!

Depending on the season, from the Room, open-air bath, restaurant, and the surroundings of the Hotel, you can be enveloped by breathtakingly beautiful and moving sunsets. Spring brings refreshing sea breezes, summer offers the vibrant blue sea, autumn showcases sunsets sinking into the ocean, and winter features waves adorned with dancing white flowers. Throughout the seasons, you can also witness the twinkling "isari-bi" (fishing fire) floating on the calm night sea.
From the restaurant 'Brau Küste', you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the vast Sea of Japan in a high-quality setting. Hokkaido, Otaru, and the Shiribeshi area are treasure troves of delicious ingredients nurtured in a rich environment. You can experience the four seasons of Hokkaido.
The Rooms include "Western-style Rooms (Twin/Double)", "Japanese-Western-style Rooms", and Barrier-Free Rooms. Additionally, the top floor features four Suite Rooms, all equipped with open-air baths offering ocean views.
