Shirahama Coganoi Resort & Spa

We stayed here for a family trip. There were plenty of kid-friendly facilities such as the pool, illuminations, and a playroom, and we had a great time! Our children were thrilled and kept saying, “We want to come again,” so we were very satisfied as parents. The Onsen was wonderful, and we really appreciated having unlimited towels available at both the Onsen and the pool—it made everything comfortable and stress-free. The staff were also polite and kind. The only thing that bothered us was having to wait for the elevator at times. As for dining, there were occasional lines at dinner buffet stations where chefs cook in front of you, but it wasn’t a big issue. At breakfast, since it’s split into two time slots, there were lines during our time; however, I think that’s unavoidable during busy mornings. It was a lovely Hotel that made us want to return!

One of the highlights of my first trip to Wakayama was staying at this resort & spa Hotel. There’s the ocean, both outdoor and indoor pools, an Onsen and a sauna, and since I booked a Plan with breakfast and dinner included, I wanted to enjoy everything. However, once I started the Wakayama mobile stamp rally, I ended up spending more time on activities outside the Hotel... so in the end I didn’t get to use the pool even once or go swimming in the sea. Still, the weather was great, so I enjoyed the beautiful views along with the Onsen and delicious meals.It was also wonderful to see how hard everyone at the Hotel was working—at the restaurant, housekeeping, around the Onsen area, and more. The only reason I deducted one star for Facilities is that there weren’t many elevators, so depending on the time of day there was often a wait. But since I enjoyed taking in the scenery along the way, it didn’t bother me.Thank you very much! I’d love to visit again.
