Taste and compare local sake from Shizuoka with our sake tasting set. We offer five carefully selected local sakes from Enshu, Sunshu, and Doshu, served in small sake cups. Please enjoy them leisurely with your meal. ■Special Offer■ Shizuoka Local Sake Tour (Sake Tasting Set of 5) Plan. A set of five sakes worth 2,000 yen is included with your stay. ~Examples of Famous Sakes~ - Garyubai (Garyubai)・Hoshou Ginjo Named after the powerful branch shape resembling a dragon lying down, said to be planted by Lord Ieyasu himself. It features a floral ginjo aroma followed by the matured scent unique to unfiltered sake. - Hakuin Masamune (Hakuin Masamune)・Kimoto Junmai・Made with Shizuoka sake rice "Homare Fuji" Named after the Zen monk who revived the Rinzai sect, celebrated in Suruga as "Two things too good for Suruga: Mount Fuji and Hakuin of Hara (now Numazu)." This sake is distinguished by its luster and rich aroma. ■Dining Location■ Dinner and breakfast will be served either in a private dining room in the restaurant area or in your Room. You can enjoy the open-air bath in your Room at your leisure without worrying about time. The beds are Simmons beds for ultimate comfort. From the Room, you can enjoy breathtaking views of Mitsuhama's sea and Mount Fuji across Suruga Bay. The semi-open-air bath in the Room is equipped with sashes to protect against rain and wind. *Please note that the Room is non-smoking. I came with high expectations, and while the view and the Facility were great...
I booked the best Room and arrived with high expectations, but the meals were disappointing. The painting collection—on par with a museum—was wonderful and truly enjoyable, and I was also lucky to watch the ever-changing views of Mt. Fuji. However, the dining, which was my biggest highlight, fell short: aside from the grilled fish at dinner and the dried horse mackerel at breakfast, there was nothing I found tasty. The dinner appetizers were so poor that it was a real letdown. The sashimi lacked freshness despite being by the sea, and the ingredients were chopped too finely. The meat was tough and poorly seasoned; dinner even included an entire boiled egg that didn’t taste good, dried vegetables, pumpkin that was too hard to eat, and bland, dry chicken. It felt like costs were being cut—and on top of that, the flavors weren’t good. Although it looks like a high-end Ryokan and both the Facility and staff are excellent, the meals were extremely disappointing.
