I’m a Yamagata resident. I was satisfied with both the food and the Onsen. The breakfast and dinner buffets were especially outstanding. The ramen served at the breakfast buffet and the beef bowl with Yonezawa beef were exceptional. At the dinner buffet, the handmade soba was particularly delicious. There was also imoni, which visitors from outside the prefecture may enjoy, but locals will enjoy it even more. The Accommodation rate was affordable, and you can enjoy wonderful food and an Onsen at a great price. I’m glad I stayed here. I’ll be back.

It was rainy on the day we arrived, so we couldn’t use the open-air bath we had been looking forward to, which was a bit disappointing. The next morning, I went to the open-air bath first thing at 6:00 and enjoyed it. With the indoor bath on B1 and the open-air bath on the 9th floor, it felt a little inconvenient to use.

It was conveniently located with easy access to Kumano Hongu Taisha. The Accommodation was new and comfortable, and the meals featured dishes inspired by Wakayama—there’s no other way to describe it than pure happiness. Being soothed by nature and the Onsen made this an amazing trip. I’ll definitely come back! If I had to mention one thing, could you consider setting time limits for the lounge? I could hear people staying there for long periods chatting, and since I couldn’t use it, that was a little disappointing.

Great value for money, directly connected to the station, and I was very satisfied with the clean interior and Room!! However, I couldn’t help but be concerned that the air conditioning is centrally controlled throughout the building… It was very hot after taking a bath, and while staying in the Room it felt a bit chilly at times (June). Other than that, the service was very pleasant, and since it’s on a high floor the view was great—I had a comfortable stay! I’d like to stay again!

The Room, baths, and meals were all wonderful. Both the in-room bath and the private Kashinoki-no-Yu Onsen were excellent. When I mentioned that the handle on the bath basket had come off, they responded immediately. As for the food, when I told them I have gout and can’t eat pork, they adjusted part of the meal. Every dish was delicious, and you could really tell how carefully everything was prepared. The soba was also great. All of the staff we spoke with in various situations were very pleasant, and it truly became a memorable trip. The view from the Room was amazing as well. There was a light mist over the mountains, and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery. It rained at night, but that actually made it even more relaxing with the sound of rain—I didn’t feel disappointed at all even though it rained. The American who traveled with me was impressed by everything and happily said they will definitely come again! I rarely write a Review no matter how much I travel, but Tsuruya was truly outstanding. If you’re considering a trip to Gunma, this is an Accommodation I would highly recommend—so I decided to write this Review. Next time, I’d love to enjoy the winter scenery along with the Onsen and meals. We will definitely visit again! Thank you very much.

We stayed one night in Okayama to spend some quality time together as a couple for the first time in a while. Our Room was a corner Room near the elevator with a great view. The Room felt a bit old, but it was well maintained and clean. We had planned to go out right away, but we ended up wanting to just keep enjoying the view. Breakfast was on the top floor, and the scenery there was different from what we saw from our Room, which was nice. The food selection included both Japanese and Western options, and they even had Kasaoka ramen—everything was excellent. We also appreciated having our photo taken. Since we chose a Plan with 12:00 checkout, we were able to visit a nearby exhibition while leaving our luggage at the hotel. We heard that the Rooms will be renovated next year, so we’re looking forward to seeing them after the renovation.

I stayed here on a business trip. I arrived a bit early, but the Room had already been cleaned, so I was able to check in slightly ahead of time, which made everything afterward go smoothly. The Room was spacious and clean. Thank you very much.

I had long wanted to stay at Towada Hotel, and on this visit what impressed me most was the building itself—and how thoughtfully the Hotel shares its history so guests can truly appreciate it. The carefully preserved entrance is captivating from the moment you look up, with beautiful timber framing and intricate details. There are highlights everywhere, inside and out, making it a joy simply to walk around. Former features such as the old vault room have also been kept, and I found it fascinating to experience the unique character that only a building shaped by many years can offer. The Room I stayed in was “Kakitsubata.” I especially appreciated that each Room’s design and details are introduced within the Hotel. For “Kakitsubata,” I could learn in depth about the materials used for elements such as the ceiling, tokobashira (alcove post), and tokogamachi (alcove frame), as well as how they have been repaired over time. Rather than simply admiring a historic building from afar, being able to spend the night knowing the story of my own Room felt like a truly luxurious experience. In my Room, my favorite feature was the small round window. Beyond it, Lake Towada and the surrounding mountains were perfectly framed—like looking at a painting. It isn’t flashy, but having such a beautiful corner within the Room made me happy, and I found myself gazing at it again and again during my stay. The meals also featured Akita specialties such as Akita Nishiki beef, Hinai jidori chicken, junsai (water shield), and iburigakko (smoked pickles), allowing me to enjoy flavors unique to this destination. The dishes were not extravagant, but I loved being able to taste local ingredients—and everything was delicious. The bath is not an Onsen, but the panoramic view over Lake Towada is wonderful. The tub is spacious and very clean, making it comfortable to use. The sauna was also extremely pleasant. Overall, it was an exceptionally satisfying stay. Unlike new luxury hotels, this Accommodation lets you enjoy architecture with true heritage—its design details, scenery, and sense of time accumulated over generations. It wasn’t just staying one night; staying in this building itself became a lasting travel memory. If I have another chance to visit Lake Towada, this is definitely a Hotel I would love to stay at again.

We stayed over a three-day weekend and were very satisfied with both the Facility and the service. It turned into a last-minute trip and we made our Reservation on the day of our stay, but this Ryokan was more comfortable than the Accommodation Fee would suggest. Meals: Breakfast featured a wide variety of dishes made with local ingredients. Everything was delicious. Room: The Room was clean and spacious enough for two people. Being able to replace the hand towels was a small touch, but I really appreciated it. Baths: We bathed twice, morning and evening. We were grateful that we could Reserve a private bath by phone before check-in. Every bath was very clean; none were particularly large, but they felt calm and relaxing. Because the shower water was also Onsen water, the water pressure was weak, but it didn’t bother me much. Inside the Accommodation: Every staff member greeted us with a smile whenever we passed by. We also enjoyed how much there was to see—there’s a pond inside, as well as a beautifully maintained courtyard with an ashiyu (footbath). Since I don’t often buy souvenirs at a Ryokan, I’m glad I could purchase cider made at the on-site winery.

Choosing this Hotel for my first solo trip to Hakone was the right decision. There are relaxing spaces throughout the spacious grounds, and the all-inclusive plan is also very appealing. Getting around inside the Hotel involves stairs and covers a wide area—perfect for getting some exercise! I’ve made another Reservation, so I look forward to staying again.

Thank you very much for everything. Personally, I would have preferred an Onsen rather than just an in-room bath. Breakfast may not have had a wide variety, but it was free and delicious—I ate a lot! I wanted to try the smoothie, but unfortunately the timing didn’t work out. It was easy to walk from town to the Hotel, and we could also walk to the festival venue. Free parking was also a big plus. Even though the Hotel’s parking area has limited spaces, there is a large parking lot directly across the street, which was reassuring. I’d love to stay again if I have another chance!

The front desk, the welcoming entrance, the views, the baths, and the staff were all wonderful. This was my first stay, but it’s a Ryokan I’d love to visit again. A few points I’d like to see improved: Regarding payment and the “Come Again Fukushima” Plan, I thought it would apply, but it turned out that only on-site payment was eligible and online payment was not. The application process is confusing, so it would be helpful if it were made clearer. There is no ramp at Fujita-no-Yu, so I would really appreciate it if one could be installed. I was truly comforted by the staff’s warm and natural greetings. I’m glad I could talk about local topics with the person who took care of our dinner. Thank you very much.

The Hotel staff were very kind, and I was extremely satisfied with the lounge drinks! I stayed with a two-meal plan, and both meals were delicious; the buffet presentation was beautiful, and it was fun to try dishes from many different countries! I’d love to stay again!

I had another truly comfortable stay. The Room was thoroughly cleaned, with fresh, spotless linens, and a wonderful view. I ordered Room service for dinner and tried the Japanese breakfast for the first time. The timing of the service and the taste were both excellent. Above all, the food was delicious. The hospitality was also outstanding, and I was able to relax until the 1:00 PM checkout time. Thank you very much. I will definitely visit again.

Because we live a vegan lifestyle, we really appreciated that the shop sold vegan noodles. The bath and the service were excellent, and we would love to stay again if we have the opportunity. Thank you very much.

I made a Reservation for a concert at Niterra Civic Hall (Nippon Tokushu Togyō). It was perfectly close—just a 30-second walk to the venue. Even though the Hotel is in a lively area, it was very quiet, and the staff were kind and attentive. The Room was spacious and relaxing, and I was very satisfied with the perfectly sized shelf in the changing area—just the right height and width. The lounge coffee was delicious, and although the manga corner is small, it had an appealing selection and I really enjoyed it! For breakfast, I had a Japanese set meal at “Tenya” on the first floor. The salmon, spinach ohitashi, and miso soup were all deeply comforting and delicious—I felt happily full from the morning for the first time in a while. I’d love to stay at this Hotel again—so much so that I’m thinking of checking upcoming concerts at Niterra Civic Hall just as an excuse to come back. Thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality.

We stayed for one night on July 4–5. This time, six of us (three couples in our 70s) stayed in three Rooms, each with a private open-air bath. To be honest, two of my friends’ husbands have never wanted to use large public baths on our past trips. So this time we splurged on Rooms with open-air baths—and those husbands were thrilled and apparently bathed many times. Everyone agreed it was excellent. The front desk staff were polite and clear, and the foreign staff member who assisted with meals spoke Japanese very well. We even had a bit of personal conversation, and they answered earnestly, making mealtime very enjoyable. Of course, the food itself was also outstanding: many small dishes and a wide variety of carefully prepared items—again, everyone was completely satisfied. At checkout we passed several housekeeping staff members, and every one of them greeted us properly, so we left feeling great. It was quiet, with only the sound of the nearby river; I almost fell asleep in the open-air bath. The price didn’t feel expensive at all. This turned into a long Review, but there’s no doubt we’ll want to come again.

They stored our luggage before check-in and even delivered it to our Room, which was a huge help. I was interested because the breakfast Reviews were good, but I found out Fukuda Pan was within walking distance, so I took a morning stroll the next day to buy some and brought it back to the Hotel to eat. Even after check-out, they stored our luggage with QR code registration, so it was great that we could leave our bags and explore the area. I’d like to stay here again when I visit Morioka.

When I visit my parents’ home, I stay here once or twice a year. I always book the Moderate Twin, and the Room is spacious and very quiet, so I can relax and rest well. Breakfast has a great variety and is very satisfying. This time (I don’t think it was available last time), there were options like shabu-shabu, steamed vegetables, and meat soup, all of which were delicious. Also, I love tea but watch my caffeine intake. They had decaf options I haven’t seen elsewhere, such as decaf Earl Grey, which was wonderful. They’ve also created a guest lounge using part of the breakfast restaurant area, where you can enjoy soft drinks anytime. It seems like a great place to unwind as well. The rooftop area is still open and remains a soothing space. However, they used to offer one complimentary drink including alcoholic options, and that service has ended, which was a bit disappointing (maybe it was replaced by the lounge?). In any case, I’d definitely like to stay again.
