I had long wanted to stay at Towada Hotel, and on this visit what impressed me most was the building itself—and how thoughtfully the Hotel shares its history so guests can truly appreciate it. The carefully preserved entrance is captivating from the moment you look up, with beautiful timber framing and intricate details. There are highlights everywhere, inside and out, making it a joy simply to walk around. Former features such as the old vault room have also been kept, and I found it fascinating to experience the unique character that only a building shaped by many years can offer. The Room I stayed in was “Kakitsubata.” I especially appreciated that each Room’s design and details are introduced within the Hotel. For “Kakitsubata,” I could learn in depth about the materials used for elements such as the ceiling, tokobashira (alcove post), and tokogamachi (alcove frame), as well as how they have been repaired over time. Rather than simply admiring a historic building from afar, being able to spend the night knowing the story of my own Room felt like a truly luxurious experience. In my Room, my favorite feature was the small round window. Beyond it, Lake Towada and the surrounding mountains were perfectly framed—like looking at a painting. It isn’t flashy, but having such a beautiful corner within the Room made me happy, and I found myself gazing at it again and again during my stay. The meals also featured Akita specialties such as Akita Nishiki beef, Hinai jidori chicken, junsai (water shield), and iburigakko (smoked pickles), allowing me to enjoy flavors unique to this destination. The dishes were not extravagant, but I loved being able to taste local ingredients—and everything was delicious. The bath is not an Onsen, but the panoramic view over Lake Towada is wonderful. The tub is spacious and very clean, making it comfortable to use. The sauna was also extremely pleasant. Overall, it was an exceptionally satisfying stay. Unlike new luxury hotels, this Accommodation lets you enjoy architecture with true heritage—its design details, scenery, and sense of time accumulated over generations. It wasn’t just staying one night; staying in this building itself became a lasting travel memory. If I have another chance to visit Lake Towada, this is definitely a Hotel I would love to stay at again.

We stayed over a three-day weekend and were very satisfied with both the Facility and the service. It turned into a last-minute trip and we made our Reservation on the day of our stay, but this Ryokan was more comfortable than the Accommodation Fee would suggest. Meals: Breakfast featured a wide variety of dishes made with local ingredients. Everything was delicious. Room: The Room was clean and spacious enough for two people. Being able to replace the hand towels was a small touch, but I really appreciated it. Baths: We bathed twice, morning and evening. We were grateful that we could Reserve a private bath by phone before check-in. Every bath was very clean; none were particularly large, but they felt calm and relaxing. Because the shower water was also Onsen water, the water pressure was weak, but it didn’t bother me much. Inside the Accommodation: Every staff member greeted us with a smile whenever we passed by. We also enjoyed how much there was to see—there’s a pond inside, as well as a beautifully maintained courtyard with an ashiyu (footbath). Since I don’t often buy souvenirs at a Ryokan, I’m glad I could purchase cider made at the on-site winery.

Choosing this Hotel for my first solo trip to Hakone was the right decision. There are relaxing spaces throughout the spacious grounds, and the all-inclusive plan is also very appealing. Getting around inside the Hotel involves stairs and covers a wide area—perfect for getting some exercise! I’ve made another Reservation, so I look forward to staying again.

Thank you very much for everything. Personally, I would have preferred an Onsen rather than just an in-room bath. Breakfast may not have had a wide variety, but it was free and delicious—I ate a lot! I wanted to try the smoothie, but unfortunately the timing didn’t work out. It was easy to walk from town to the Hotel, and we could also walk to the festival venue. Free parking was also a big plus. Even though the Hotel’s parking area has limited spaces, there is a large parking lot directly across the street, which was reassuring. I’d love to stay again if I have another chance!

The Hotel staff were very kind, and I was extremely satisfied with the lounge drinks! I stayed with a two-meal plan, and both meals were delicious; the buffet presentation was beautiful, and it was fun to try dishes from many different countries! I’d love to stay again!

This is my third stay this year. I really enjoy the dinner meat dishes and the wide variety of side dishes, and I can take my time and relax while dining. The baths are clean, the Hotel is quiet throughout, and it’s one of my favorites. However, this time the dinner meat platter was quite salty. The hamburger steak in particular could have been seasoned more mildly. After the meal, I refilled my tea several times in the lobby to quench my thirst. Breakfast was excellent with nothing to complain about. I will stay again.

Because we live a vegan lifestyle, we really appreciated that the shop sold vegan noodles. The bath and the service were excellent, and we would love to stay again if we have the opportunity. Thank you very much.

I stayed in a Room at Hakubaittei. The building is old, and the in-room toilet, sink, and bath felt dated, but everything was well cleaned and felt hygienic. The light switches were unresponsive and had a delay before turning on, which was inconvenient. The Onsen baths offer a wide variety and were very satisfying. There are also many open-air baths. The changing area was clean as well. There are several entrances to the baths, but when using the entrance near the front desk, the cold-water dispenser was only located between the changing area and the bathing area. It would have been nice to have a cold-water dispenser with cups near that entrance or in the changing area. There were dispensers near other entrances. The meals weren’t anything special, but everything tasted good. The service was also good. The breakfast buffet had plenty of variety and was delicious, with shabu-shabu, tuna sashimi, and kamameshi even in the morning. I chose this Accommodation for the baths and food, so it was absolutely the right choice! I’d like to stay again.

We stayed for one night on July 4–5. This time, six of us (three couples in our 70s) stayed in three Rooms, each with a private open-air bath. To be honest, two of my friends’ husbands have never wanted to use large public baths on our past trips. So this time we splurged on Rooms with open-air baths—and those husbands were thrilled and apparently bathed many times. Everyone agreed it was excellent. The front desk staff were polite and clear, and the foreign staff member who assisted with meals spoke Japanese very well. We even had a bit of personal conversation, and they answered earnestly, making mealtime very enjoyable. Of course, the food itself was also outstanding: many small dishes and a wide variety of carefully prepared items—again, everyone was completely satisfied. At checkout we passed several housekeeping staff members, and every one of them greeted us properly, so we left feeling great. It was quiet, with only the sound of the nearby river; I almost fell asleep in the open-air bath. The price didn’t feel expensive at all. This turned into a long Review, but there’s no doubt we’ll want to come again.

They stored our luggage before check-in and even delivered it to our Room, which was a huge help. I was interested because the breakfast Reviews were good, but I found out Fukuda Pan was within walking distance, so I took a morning stroll the next day to buy some and brought it back to the Hotel to eat. Even after check-out, they stored our luggage with QR code registration, so it was great that we could leave our bags and explore the area. I’d like to stay here again when I visit Morioka.

We stayed in August. The Hotel itself felt a bit old, but the necessary areas have been renovated. Good points - The Hotel has an outdoor pool. It’s a bit far to Ito Orange Beach, so the pool is more than enough for kids to play. It’s also heated, and the water temperature was comfortable. - There are karaoke rooms, table tennis, and a free manga corner. - The complimentary Onsen manju at welcome service is delicious. - As part of the Fujita Kanko Group, there are Plans that include free tickets to Hakone Kowakien Yunessun and Shimoda Aquarium. There is also a 24-hour MaxValu right next door, where you can buy any snacks or treats you need. Points for improvement - If it’s only seafood, it can get repetitive, so I’d like more variety in meat and vegetable dishes as well. - I would prefer card keys for the Room. Overall, I felt it offered excellent value for money.

We stayed in connecting rooms where 2 Rooms were connected internally. The Rooms were small but comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. After the bath, we enjoyed complimentary drinks, which were refreshing. The amenities were well-stocked and had a pleasant fragrance, making our stay very satisfying. Thank you to the staff for their wonderful smiles and excellent service!

The services were excellent, but what impressed us even more was the warm hospitality and thoughtful care throughout our stay! Every staff member we met was kind and welcoming, and we truly had a heartwarming time. There were plenty of complimentary drinks and snacks (the summer water service was especially appreciated). We stayed with three preschool-aged children, and even when they got excited, a bit noisy, or fussy, the staff never showed any displeasure—always smiling, speaking gently to them, and offering help whenever they noticed we might be struggling. The team at the front desk, dining area, Onsen area—everyone was wonderful. They were also very courteous when I called in advance with several questions. We chose this Accommodation to visit LEGOLAND Japan and Oyatsu Town, and we definitely want to stay again! Both dinner and breakfast were delicious! It’s located in a place where you can really feel nature, and the Onsen with scenic views made for a relaxing time. This trip reminded me that meeting kind people makes travel so much more fulfilling.

This was my first time having breakfast here, and I was extremely satisfied—easily one of the best breakfasts among the Hotels I’ve stayed at!! I’m happy to have found such a delicious breakfast again after a long time. The service is excellent, making it a comfortable and reassuring Hotel to stay at. It’s also conveniently close to the station, and easy to reach from the Shinkansen gates without getting lost. In Shin-Osaka, this is my go-to place from now on! At this price, being so close to Otemachi is truly appreciated. The Room was quiet, the other guests were pleasant, and my stay was very comfortable. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Whenever I need to be in Otemachi and stay the night before, I would gladly stay here again.

It was conveniently located close to Laguna Ten Bosch. We stayed in a Room with a private bath. The view was great, and the bath felt open and airy and was very clean—our children were delighted. The staff were very helpful, and the welcome services were also excellent. The meals were delicious, and the children’s menu was thoughtfully planned with good nutritional balance, which was wonderful. It was an Accommodation we would like to stay at again. I stayed for one night on 6/17. The Hotel is close to the station and easy to find, with izakayas, cafes, convenience stores, and drugstores nearby. The welcome drink right after arrival and the all-you-can-drink alcohol service were absolutely amazing! All the staff were very kind and polite, which made my stay truly pleasant. A passcode is required to enter the large public bath, and you receive a paper with it at check-in. I realized I had forgotten mine just before the entrance, and when I headed back toward the elevator, a staff member said, “Did you forget your paper? I’ll give it to you now.” I was so impressed by how attentive they were. Thank you so much! The Room was small due to the location, and the sink area was also compact, but that was about the only thing that stood out—overall it was a great Hotel. I’m glad my mother and I chose to stay here for our trip. If we have another chance, we’d love to stay again! *At check-in, we were assisted by someone on their first day who was giving their first explanation.
