Staying at an inn with only three rooms really made me realize how that allows them to serve truly exceptional cuisine. The room we stayed in, “Korin,” had the bath and washbasin located outside the main room, which was a bit inconvenient. However, it comes with a dedicated dining room, so you can focus on the meal right away without leaving your room—and each dish is served at exactly the right moment. It’s been a long time since I so strongly appreciated the happiness of eating hot food while it’s still hot. From the appetizer through the lidded dish and assorted starters to the grilled course, every item brought out the full flavor of its ingredients. The grilled steak in particular surprised me: I honestly didn’t have high expectations for Tochigi Wagyu (sorry!), but it was incredibly tender, with a perfect balance of fat and lean meat. To be frank, we went to a famous steak restaurant in Nikko for dinner the next day, and this steak easily held its own against their Maezawa beef. The finishing soba was also excellent—I regret not ordering a larger portion. They serve two dipping sauces, one warm and one cold; personally, I recommend the cold one. I’m attaching a photo of breakfast as well—breakfast was wonderful too. If I have another chance to visit, I’d love to stay in a different room next time. Thank you very much.

With my wife’s birthday coming up again this year, we visited Karuizawa, a place filled with memories for the two of us. We were blessed with great weather and enjoyed a relaxing stay—taking walks and cycling around Karuizawa as the autumn leaves began to change, and spending time shopping. We were also very pleased with the thoughtful hospitality from the hotel staff, including a birthday message card, as well as the delicious food, our favorite wine, and the birthday cake. For us as a couple, this is truly a wonderful hotel.

I caused you a great deal of trouble, but everyone spoke to me so kindly that it truly helped me. The price is almost too low! The in-room lotion was my favorite brand, there were two sinks, and both dinner and breakfast were outstanding. It was a shame there was no view from the open-air bath, but I found myself hoping—thinking from the owner’s perspective—that your service will continue just as it is so you won’t lose guests until the construction is finished. Even without a view from the window, this is a wonderful Ryokan. Thank you very much for everything.

Both the Room and bath, as well as the cuisine and customer service, were of a very high standard at this Accommodation. In particular, the private dining room was a wonderful space with a refined sense of style. The reflection of the waterway’s surface on the navy-blue wall inside was truly magical. I also felt it would be nice to raise the blinds a little at breakfast to enjoy it. The locally made cookies provided in the Room were also delicious. This is an Accommodation where I’d like to stay again, even in a different Room.

We visited as two families, and the quiet atmosphere throughout the property and the deep presence of nature felt wonderfully soothing. Each of us was able to spend a calm, unhurried time at our own pace. The bagna càuda served at dinner was especially memorable—an exquisite dish that brought out the best of seasonal ingredients with great care, and one we would love to enjoy again. Yamanohito’s culinary philosophy—honoring the inherent strength of each ingredient—came through clearly, quietly yet unmistakably. The hospitality from all staff members was among the finest we have experienced at any accommodation. It never felt excessive; instead, they offered attentive support exactly when needed, allowing us to relax with complete peace of mind throughout our stay. This has become a truly special place for our family—one we hope to revisit in different seasons to enjoy changing mountain scenery and cuisine each time.

[All-Inclusive] An Elegant Evening with an Authentic Teppanyaki Dinner and Free-Flow Drinks (Dinner & Breakfast Included) – Premium Twin Room Everything was wonderful. - Room: It was spacious, had a sofa, and we were able to relax comfortably. Having two sinks was also very convenient. However, I tripped on the step at the entrance to the washroom, so I hope this can be improved. - Dining: Every dish in the dinner course looked and tasted amazing. Drinks were free-flow with a glass-exchange system, so we enjoyed beer and sparkling wine. For breakfast, we could choose from three types of galettes, and they were delicious. Curry was also included, which would be great for those with a big appetite—our group doesn’t eat much, so we ended up feeling very full. - The lounge was also a wonderful space where we could relax comfortably. - There was also a large public bath—this was one of the main reasons we chose this property—and everything about it was excellent. We would definitely like to stay again.

Choosing Richmond was the right decision. There’s a 24-hour supermarket next door, plenty of parking, and the event venue is also nearby—overall, we were very satisfied!

Choosing this Hotel for her slightly early birthday trip was truly the right decision. Not only was the staff’s hospitality wonderful, but the overall pace and atmosphere of the Hotel felt incredibly comfortable—we will definitely stay again.

We stayed here over Silver Week to celebrate a birthday.\n\nAs this inn is known for its cuisine, we were most looking forward to the meals—and everything from start to finish was absolutely delicious. We booked the simmered golden eye snapper (Kinmedai) course because we specifically wanted to try it, and I highly recommend it at least once. The chef’s special sweets were also wonderful.\n\nThere is also a great selection of local sake. I didn’t have much of an image of Shizuoka sake before, but we enjoyed trying different ones by the single serving. The food was so good that we ended up drinking a bit too much.\n\nOur room was in a separate annex, and meals were served in a private dining room, so we rarely ran into other guests and could truly relax.\n\nWe also used the private reservable bath, and together with the bath in our room, we ended up bathing four times in total. The water temperature was perfect.\n\nAll of the staff were polite and attentive. We’d love to come back again as a treat for ourselves. We came to celebrate, but I ended up enjoying it just as much.

From the entrance of the Accommodation, we felt warmly welcomed. Every staff member was very pleasant, yet never intrusive, and we had a truly wonderful time. A wild squirrel even appeared on the Room terrace, and the birdsong was so soothing. We were also able to enjoy our meals at a relaxed pace. At check-out, we received kind words that made us feel glad we came—this was an Accommodation that left us feeling that way. We also enjoyed both Mt. Omuro and Mt. Komuro. Thank you very much.

On August 7, with concerns about the impact of a strong typhoon, we headed to Kyotango—a trip we had been looking forward to for a long time. Due to my misunderstanding, I entered the entrance at 2:00 PM and found no one at the front desk. Of course—check-in starts at 3:00 PM. Even so, they assisted us right away and guided us to our Room in about 10 minutes. That was where I started causing trouble. I couldn’t wait for the dinner and breakfast that receive rave Reviews. Since we arrived early, I was also the first to use the large public bath. The view of the sea from the open-air bath was incredible. The right edge of the tub had a slope, so I assumed it was thoughtful design for children and elderly guests—but there was an identical slope on the left as well. Looking closer, I noticed the rim of the tub was curved: it was actually designed as a reclining bath. The slopes were made so you could lie back and still see the ocean. I enjoyed it alone, deeply impressed. Afterward, I had a canned beer and some complimentary sake (excellent) in the relaxation area and returned to our Room—then an accident happened: we received news of a death in our close family. After discussing with my wife, we decided to give up on breakfast we had been looking forward to. Since it took about 3 hours and 45 minutes on our way there, we asked at reception if we could leave early in the morning—and they kindly accommodated this as well. Dinner began while my mind was unsettled, but everything from the first appetizer onward was delicious, and my wife and I found ourselves exchanging smiles again and again. Partway through, we were guided outside to watch the sunset from the terrace—body, mind, and palate all completely satisfied. Despite our very early departure time, they even saw us off when we left. I was truly moved. We caused you so much inconvenience—thank you for giving us such an outstanding Accommodation experience.

I was completely satisfied with this Accommodation! This was my first stay here. After reading Reviews in advance, I saw comments saying it was like a “stink bug Accommodation,” so I braced myself. But it wasn’t like that at all—there were a few stink bugs, but for an Accommodation surrounded by nature, having some insects is only to be expected, and it didn’t bother me. I almost felt sorry that the staff kept apologizing for the stink bugs. The food was absolutely delicious, and I’m very grateful that they sincerely accommodated an unexpected situation where I had to step away in the middle of the meal. The Room had a calm atmosphere with plenty of traditional Uchiko washi paper used throughout, and I was able to relax deeply. Breakfast also had a fun concept where you can compare three different types of eggs—I loved it! This is an Accommodation I’d gladly go out of my way to stay at again!

We stayed here for a family trip to celebrate a 60th birthday. The Room called “En” had wonderful views and beautiful furnishings, allowing us to forget everyday life and fully enjoy the relaxed pace of Amami. Above all, every meal was delicious, and we could really feel the care put into using local ingredients and pesticide-free produce—it was outstanding.

The building was simply wonderful. We stayed in the detached Room “Gion” with an open-air bath, and it was very spacious with high ceilings; the dark brown beams and pillars gave it a charming atmosphere. There were two semi-double beds, and they were fluffy and very comfortable. The in-room open-air bath was spacious and amazing (the view would likely be especially beautiful in late autumn or when it’s snowy—though getting there might be a bit challenging). Dinner was also very delicious.

I was feeling down because it was a pretty tough business trip, but the beautifully clean Hotel room, delicious meals, and the warmth of the staff truly comforted me. Next time, I’d like to come for something other than work!

At IKYU, it was categorized as casual, but we enjoyed a luxurious Onsen experience that felt like staying at a private villa. The Room had a spacious washroom, and the toilet being separate was also convenient. The heater in the Room was turned on in advance, so we stayed warm without needing to use the air conditioner. Various thoughtful touches were noticeable throughout, and I heard that adjustments are made regularly. It had such a pleasant atmosphere that made us wish to stay longer. Here are some points of concern: It would be helpful if spare foot mats were provided for the private bath so they can be replaced after use. The abundance of wash towels was very convenient. A single fresh flower in the Room would add charm since there were flowers in the dining area. During meal service, providing more details about local ingredients or cooking methods would be appreciated by travelers—it may require extra effort from staff but makes for enjoyable conversations while savoring meals. Having a menu list would also enhance the dining experience further.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary. All of the staff were very pleasant, and their warm, gentle, home-like hospitality made our stay truly comfortable and relaxing. The food was also excellent, made with local ingredients, with delicate flavors that seemed to reflect the chef’s personality. They also kindly accommodated a last-minute change to our meal. The wine was delicious as well, and we were told that the tableware was made at a nearby workshop. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

I live in Kobe and have been hiking Mt. Rokko and the surrounding mountains frequently for many years. I often passed by “Ocean Terrace Ajisai” and had been curious about it for a long time. After reading the Reviews, the food looked absolutely delicious. So I made a Reservation for our wedding anniversary. The meals more than lived up to their reputation—beautifully presented, wonderfully flavorful, and truly outstanding. Both dinner and breakfast left us happily stuffed. Everything was delicious, but I was especially impressed by how surprising and exquisite the fig dengaku and peach potage were—and it was my first time in my life to be genuinely amazed at how incredibly good Narazuke could be. The dashimaki tamago that appeared with a burst of steam when they opened the bamboo mat was also exceptional. Everyone at the Accommodation was kind and attentive, sharing enjoyable stories that made us feel at ease. The view was slightly hazy when we arrived, but when I woke up around midnight and stepped out onto the terrace, there were the night lights from Kobe to Osaka—and a full moon! I was thrilled by both our good luck and its beauty. And in the morning, seeing trees wrapped in mist—Mt. Rokko like I’d never seen before—moved me again… I would love to stay again in a different season. When making the Reservation, I saw the Room size in square meters and assumed it would be compact, but I must have misread it—it felt very spacious and relaxing, which was wonderful too.

From arrival by car to departure, we had a very pleasant stay. All the staff were cheerful and very kind, and the meals were excellent. When we left by car, it was especially memorable that they kept waving until we were out of sight. We would definitely like to stay again.

Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality. We were thrilled to stay for the first time in a Japanese-style room with a jacuzzi, which is usually very hard to secure a Reservation, and my cousin and I were overjoyed. We could also admire the Mid-Autumn full moon through the large open picture window at the front—it was an unforgettable, moving moment. Throughout the property, we were impressed by the thoughtful touches everywhere: simple arrangements of wildflowers and fine pieces on display that we could enjoy as we walked to the restaurant and public bath. The moon-viewing décor in the lobby lounge, as well as the magnificent folding screen and large floral arrangement at the entrance, were all wonderful. Next time, I would love to visit with my husband and family, including my son and his wife. Thank you very much.
