This was our first stay as a family trip. The meals, the baths, and the hospitality were all extremely satisfying. Every dish was made with local ingredients, and the seasoning brought out the natural flavors—exactly to our taste. We also enjoyed relaxing in the log-cabin-style restaurant while looking out at the garden. We used only the open-air bath. Even though it was raining, the water temperature was just right and helped us unwind. *Since it’s completely outdoors, those who dislike insects may want to avoid it in summer—they do fly around. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much for everything.

We were satisfied with everything—the guest room, the private open-air bath, and the restaurant. The retro furnishings in the room were truly comforting, and we were impressed by the thoughtful care in the meals. We enjoyed a level of luxury that exceeded the price. This is a Hotel we would love to visit again. The Hotel staff were also wonderful. As I get older, I find peace in an Accommodation like this. I hadn’t had many chances to visit Chichibu before, but this was an excellent Hotel as a base for visiting Mitsumine Shrine, Chichibu Shrine, and Hodosan Shrine (the Chichibu Three Shrines pilgrimage), as well as sightseeing in Nagatoro. Thank you very much for your hospitality the other day. I’m sorry my review is late. At this Accommodation, we were worried about making check-in on time due to unexpected traffic, but they handled it with incredible kindness and flexibility. We told them—though we didn’t know exactly when we would arrive—that we really wanted to have dinner, and they warmly replied, “We’ll be waiting.” In the end, we made it in time and were able to enjoy the meal without delay. It wasn’t an overly luxurious kind of service, but rather thoughtful hospitality that anticipated what guests might need—whether in the Room, the bath, or the meals. There was also live entertainment: a staff member performed a singing-and-guitar set during dinner. We had no idea there would be live music, so it was a wonderful surprise. Both dinner and breakfast were outstanding, featuring seasonal ingredients and local specialties unique to the area. From presentation to flavor, everything was beyond words and truly enjoyable. I only wish we could have checked in earlier so we could have enjoyed more of the Accommodation. We would love to visit again.

We chose this Onsen Accommodation because it had the highest Review rating among Onsen Accommodations within a three-hour drive from our home in Yokohama. When I parked my car in the wooded parking area, the owner appeared out of nowhere and said, “You shouldn’t come in such a nice car—you might scratch it.” His playful comment made us laugh. As with any place, visiting an Accommodation for the first time can be nerve-racking, so we truly appreciated how you put my husband and me at ease the moment we arrived. After stepping inside, we were further comforted by the warm welcome from the proprietress—it was genuinely moving. The flowers placed throughout, the beautifully maintained garden, and even the sound of birdsong were all wonderful. Above all, the food was outstanding. Both dinner and breakfast featured many ingredients harvested at home—everything was fresh, and we could really enjoy the natural flavors. The dashi was also thoughtfully tailored to each dish, and we could feel how much care went into every detail. The bath was spacious as well, with excellent water. This is an Accommodation I sincerely want to return to. Thank you very much to everyone on staff.

My spouse and I stayed on June 19. The building was old, but it was well maintained, and the courtyard after the rain in the morning was lovely. All of the meals were delicious, and we both finished everything. The staff were also very pleasant. We were able to visit Amanohashidate, which we had wanted to see for a long time, and fully enjoy Kyoto by the Sea. Thank you very much.

I found this Ryokan while looking for a trip to give my boyfriend as a birthday present, also as a thank-you for his proposal. This was an important trip for me, and everything—from the hospitality to the Onsen, the food, and the Room—was wonderful. It was a truly heartwarming Ryokan. When I asked about bringing in wine as a surprise, they responded and accommodated my request promptly and with great care. I didn’t expect such thoughtful support, and I’m very grateful. In the end, he was delighted, and we were able to spend a lovely time together. While searching for a Ryokan, I saw many reviews praising the hospitality, and after staying here I completely understand why. The service from our attendant and all other staff was excellent, making this trip even more special. We also enjoyed seasonal flavors in the cuisine, and since it was served in our Room we could relax and enjoy it at our own pace. The words said to us at departure—“We look forward to welcoming you again in another season”—left a strong impression on me. We would love to visit again.

This was my first time visiting Sarugakyo Onsen, and to be honest, it didn’t feel like there was much sightseeing, but this Accommodation was so wonderful that I’d come back just to stay here again. The staff were all very hospitable, and the food was excellent. The pizza in particular was truly delicious—I ended up eating far too much. I’d love to visit again! Thank you very much.

There were several international staff members as well, and seeing them serve guests earnestly in Japanese and make an effort to embrace Japanese culture was truly heartwarming. My friend and I stayed for one night and two days. That morning, we joined a river kayaking tour, and since there were no changing facilities near the river, I asked if it would be okay to arrive still wearing our wet wetsuits. They kindly agreed, which I truly appreciated. We were dropped off by the tour staff, and the moment we arrived, the breathtaking view of a beautiful infinity pool under a clear blue sky spread out before us—I couldn’t help but shout, “Wow, amazing!” We were shown to seats by the poolside, and even before checking in my friend said, “Wow… I should’ve brought my laptop. Next time we have to bring our laptops and stay longer for a workcation.” We were then shown to our Room. When I tried to open my suitcase, it wouldn’t open—an unexpected mishap—but after speaking with the butler right away they prepared an adorable tracksuit that could be worn over swimwear and arranged a rental car for us. Thanks to that, we were able to get it opened at a local gas station we had found in advance. For dinner, they prepared a handmade welcome plate inspired by the kayaking experience and the sea turtle nesting observation tour we had done—it was moving from the moment we sat down. Every dish was something new to us and absolutely delicious; in particular, I loved the peach sorbet served by the pastry chef. We got so caught up in eating and chatting that we stayed late, yet the chef still came out with a smile to see us off all the way until we boarded the golf cart back to our Room. The next morning we joined a kokedama (moss ball) workshop and enjoyed making one while learning all kinds of things about plants. I’ve forgotten the plant’s name now, but when I mentioned that I like tea, they also wrapped large leaves that can be enjoyed as tea together with my kokedama. We were probably the noisiest guests during our stay as just two people, yet everyone treated us with kindness until the very end—I’m nothing but grateful. Next time, I plan to bring my laptop and come back for a longer workcation stay.

I stayed for the first time in a Room with an open-air bath with my elderly mother. After arriving, we enjoyed welcome sweets, and the experience began on an elegant note. The dinner menu was very cute, we could choose our chopsticks, and each time a dish was served, we were impressed by both the beautiful tableware and the cuisine. Every dish was delicious. We were able to dine quietly and at a relaxed pace. Dining while watching the sunset felt truly elegant. For breakfast, the croissants were especially delicious. Both the open-air bath in our Room and the large public bath were wonderfully soothing, and my mother was very happy as well. I also used the massage chair twice. Thank you for carrying our luggage to our car when we left. It’s an Accommodation I would love to stay at again! Thank you for such a blissful time.

We visited during Golden Week for a birthday trip. From the warm welcome to the lounge, Room, baths, and meals, everything throughout our stay was wonderful and made it a truly unforgettable trip. The view from the Room was beautiful, and we were able to spend a relaxing, luxurious time. Every dish was genuinely delicious; even though the portions were generous, it was so good that I finished everything for the first time. All of the staff were consistently kind and attentive, which made our entire stay very comfortable. We also went to an outside bath, but it was quite crowded—so much so that we felt completely satisfied with just the Ryokan’s baths. In particular, the in-Room bath had perfect temperature and excellent water quality, and it was incredibly soothing. I’ve been traveling about once every two months for many years, but this is the first Ryokan that truly made me think, “I definitely want to come back.” Next time, I’d love to visit during crab season. Thank you very much for such a wonderful time.

I stayed here with my daughter for a birthday trip. Just as the Reviews said, each dish was carefully prepared—everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and we were truly satisfied. The welcome sweets in our Room and the dessert pudding were also handmade by the chef and unbelievably good. The semi-open-air bath in our Room was wonderfully relaxing, with a proper washing area, so we could easily enjoy the Onsen again and again. The original shampoo and conditioner were so good I wanted to buy them to take home. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I slept soundly until morning. Above all, I was deeply impressed by the hospitality of the staff. Everyone was warm and attentive, and thanks to their heartfelt service we had such a pleasant stay. With their wonderful smiles and thoughtfulness, we were able to spend an unforgettable birthday—it was an incredibly satisfying trip. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much!

This was our first stay here, and among all the places we’ve visited, it was the best Accommodation for Western-style cuisine. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality from welcome to farewell. The Room (very relaxing) and the bath (the in-room bath was more than enough) were both excellent. Above all, the meals were outstanding—both dinner and breakfast. Each dish was beautifully presented (including the tableware) and delicious, and we were amazed by how many items there were in the Japanese breakfast (we finished everything). We will definitely visit again during the autumn foliage season. One request: it would be nice to have body wash towels available in the bath area.

We arrived a little early, kindly left our car, and took a stroll around the area. Right away, we visited Suwa Taisha Shimosha Akimiya Shrine next door. In the backstreets of this historic townscape, you can find Onsen springs here and there—perfect for wandering at leisure. Both inside and outside the property felt very clean, showing careful management throughout. The staff’s smiles, service, and conversation were all refined; we truly felt their hospitality and attentiveness, which made our stay very comfortable. From the Room we stayed in—named “Kirishima”—we enjoyed a view of the grove surrounding Suwa Taisha Shimosha Akimiya Shrine, full of charm and atmosphere. Both dinner and breakfast featured local ingredients, and everything was delicious. We could also sense how dedicated the staff were, which made dining even more enjoyable. Bathing in the panoramic large public bath while looking out over the townscape glowing at dusk was exceptional. The water was a gentle Onsen that seemed to softly cling to the skin. Although it wasn’t in our original plans, we stopped by Harmo Museum about 7–8 minutes away by car after receiving a recommendation as we checked out. Driving along the well-maintained lakeside of Lake Suwa and enjoying wonderful paintings became a great memory for us. It was a truly relaxing Accommodation for adults—wonderful in every way. My husband and I stayed here on the middle day of a three-day holiday weekend. The first-floor corner Room “Kanade” was wonderful, with views of both the sea and the mountains, and we were very satisfied. The view from the in-room bath was also amazing. In addition to a ReFa showerhead, there was even a hair dryer and hair iron provided—thoughtful touches that many women will appreciate. We enjoyed delicious breakfast and dinner at our own private dining room at a relaxed pace. The bedroom’s calm color scheme and comfortable bedding helped us fully recover from travel fatigue. It was a lovely Accommodation that made us want to return as a couple.

This was the Accommodation I had wanted to stay at on my first trip to Yamaguchi Prefecture. The Accommodation was very clean and quiet, and I was able to relax in a calm atmosphere. The Room was spacious, and the view of the reflecting pool from the terrace was beautiful. The open-air bath in the Room had free-flowing natural hot spring water, which felt wonderful. At the bar lounge, I enjoyed complimentary drinks while chatting with the staff and had a great time. I highly recommend this Accommodation for anyone looking to spend a relaxing stay for a special anniversary or simply to unwind and forget about everyday life.

It was my first time visiting Nara. I was very satisfied with my first stay at Kaze no Naramachi. The hospitality was wonderful in every aspect—from the service and the Room to the meals and thoughtful care.
