The private family bath was spacious and even had a waterfall feature, with the water at just the right temperature, so we could soak and relax. The atmosphere of the large public bath was also wonderful. The meals featured local ingredients, the portions were just right, and we were very satisfied! If you have mobility issues, going up and down to the first floor may be difficult, but it was a quiet place to spend time. We’d love to visit again after a hike in the mountains.

The meals were delicious, and having a private family bath allowed us to relax and enjoy our stay. I was happy that yukata-style loungewear was provided. I did feel the waistband elastic could have been a bit tighter, but it was still comfortable to wear. We could sense thoughtful attention in many little details, which made us feel warmly welcomed. Thank you very much.

Because my husband is from Nagaoka, we come from Tokyo to Niigata every year during the Obon season. Our usual routine is to go swimming at Kakudahama Beach first, then stay at Hotel Asuka. The made-to-order dinner buffet is delicious, and the food comes out quickly. The dishes you can pick up anytime are also great, so I always end up eating too much. Both the long-time staff and the newer team members are truly pleasant and welcoming—it makes me feel at home. This is my favorite hotel that I look forward to visiting every year. We’ll be back again next year, so thank you in advance.

It had switched to the early-summer menu. Even when I’m worn out from work and forget the sense of the season, staying at Sunset Susami always lets me head home feeling a little more refreshed. The creative dishes made with fresh, seasonal local ingredients are wonderful, and the Onsen—with different temperatures depending on where you bathe—is always excellent. The building is always kept spotless whenever I visit, and even when staff change over, they carefully clean tables after meals. One of this Accommodation’s charms is how strongly you can feel the staff’s sincerity. The special dessert introduced this time—the Inazumi Roll made by a front desk staff member—was truly delicious. The sponge was moist, and it paired perfectly with coffee. (As expected from a former Dojima Roll pastry chef—it really is on another level.) That’s given me yet another reason to stay at Sunset Susami. I love that I can always relax here (lol).

This is a perfect Accommodation no matter when you visit. It was Kyoto in extreme heat, but thanks to your thoughtful care in many ways, we had a wonderful time. The pike conger is a must in this season; it is an additional-order dish, but highly recommended. We are planning to visit again in autumn.

The floors throughout the Ryokan were comfortable to walk on barefoot, making it feel like home. I completely understood why rolling suitcases are not allowed. I could really appreciate the owner’s attention to detail, and I thought it was wonderful. The location was excellent, and the meals were delicious.

I visited during the Obon holidays, and the drive was not crowded at all. The Accommodation was in a great location, just a short walk to Irago Cape Lighthouse. Right in front is Koijigahama Beach, and I was able to relax at the Accommodation while enjoying the beautiful ocean view. The owner, the young proprietress, and all the staff were wonderfully pleasant and welcoming. I have stayed at many Ryokan and Hotels, but I think this place is the best. The food was also delicious, and I am completely satisfied with everything. I would like to take good care of the hibiscus I received on my way home—thank you very much. I would definitely like to visit again.

The relaxing Facility, the charming Room, the wonderful cuisine, and the silky Onsen I could stay in forever—everything was exceptional. The staff’s warm smiles and attentive hospitality made it even better. This is the first Accommodation where I truly didn’t want to leave because it felt so comfortable. I would love to visit again. I stayed here on a solo trip. Because it is small, everything is well cared for, making it a very pleasant Accommodation. From the aroma scents to the polished furnishings, attention to detail can be felt throughout, and the whole Accommodation has a warm wooden feel. The corner Room by the clear stream also had a raised terrace area where I could relax. Since there are only a few Rooms, I was able to enjoy the bath without overlapping with other guests and soak at ease. Thank you very much—I would love to stop by again.

All the meals were truly delicious! The splendid alfonsino was especially tasty, and I’m glad I added it. This is a traditional Accommodation, but it didn’t feel old at all—everything was spotless and wonderful. The bath was also great. I was able to relax at a leisurely pace and feel refreshed. I have stayed here several times. Every visit, I’m impressed by the warm service, the simple and spotless Room, and the soothing greenery—my satisfaction is always extremely high at this Hotel. While service standards at Hotels across Japan have been declining due to staff shortages, this Hotel continues to uphold the tradition of classic hospitality and could serve as a model for Hotel professionals nationwide. I would love to visit again next summer.

My parents and I had a very comfortable stay. They said they would like to come again, which made me happy as the one who gave them this trip as a gift. All the staff were very courteous and attentive to every detail. We relaxed with coffee in our Room, warmed up to the core in the free-flowing Onsen, and slept soundly. Every dish was delicious. The acqua pazza, in particular, was the best I have ever had.

This was our first stay here. Although we originally planned to come by car and had to switch to the train at short notice, you still picked us up at the scheduled time. The Room was just the right size for two people, and we also appreciated how clean it was. There were plenty of amenities and many complimentary drinks, so we were able to relax and take our time. Each dish was carefully prepared, and combined with dining in a private room, it felt truly luxurious. Everything tasted excellent. We enjoyed the chocolates served at the end of dinner during our morning coffee time. The late-night snack was also refined and delicious. The bath required adjusting the temperature, but that actually allowed us to set it exactly how we liked it, which was great. As it is a sulfur hot spring, there was a faint scent that lingered after bathing, but it wasn’t too strong—just enough to feel its benefits. Breakfast was also delicious: kamameshi cooked with dashi with slightly indulgent side dishes, all thoughtfully prepared. Overall, we were truly satisfied with our stay.

Everything was always clean, and I had a very comfortable stay! All of the staff provided wonderful hospitality. This time, I chose the “Tajima Beef Colorful Kaiseki” course! They carefully explained each dish, which made it even more enjoyable. I was able to fully enjoy Kinosaki at night.

My best friend and I stayed for one night in a suite. The staff’s service was outstanding, and we received such warm, heartfelt hospitality. The meals were just as delicious as we’d heard—no, even better than expected. When you travel, you want to enjoy local specialties, right? The dishes here use plenty of ingredients from Chiba, and enjoying them while looking out at the sea of Chiba is pure luxury… simply unforgettable! We were told the ingredients change with the seasons, so next time I’d love to visit in a season other than summer. Also, if anyone planning to stay is reading this Review, please be sure to check out the booklet on the bedside table: a hand-written guide by the proprietress introducing Chiba and providing information about the Accommodation. Each page is carefully made, and it really conveyed her love for the Accommodation and her warm hospitality—it left a lasting impression. She also left us a note with the sunrise time, so we woke up early and watched it from the Hotel deck. It was truly beautiful, so I’m attaching photos from that moment. It became an unforgettable trip to Kamogawa. Thank you very much!

A foot-wiping towel was provided at the entrance, and we had a wonderful 3-day, 2-night stay—thank you to all the staff for their hospitality. They kindly accommodated our personal requests, and the team’s service—like that of a luxury Hotel concierge—made us feel we’d love to come back again next year. If I had to mention just one suggestion, there is a microwave on the lobby counter, and I would have liked to see a free drink dispenser placed nearby. The service and value for money are outstanding, so even if the room rate were higher, it wouldn’t be an issue at all.

We were satisfied with everything—the guest room, the private open-air bath, and the restaurant. The retro furnishings in the room were truly comforting, and we were impressed by the thoughtful care in the meals. We enjoyed a level of luxury that exceeded the price. This is a Hotel we would love to visit again. The Hotel staff were also wonderful. As I get older, I find peace in an Accommodation like this. I hadn’t had many chances to visit Chichibu before, but this was an excellent Hotel as a base for visiting Mitsumine Shrine, Chichibu Shrine, and Hodosan Shrine (the Chichibu Three Shrines pilgrimage), as well as sightseeing in Nagatoro. The service was outstanding. It was the best hospitality I have ever experienced at any Accommodation. The sashimi of Seki horse mackerel, Bungo beef, and local chicken were all delicious. I was able to relax in the open-air bath while gazing at the beautiful starry sky. I would definitely like to stay here again.

It was my first time visiting Rebun Island. I arrived before check-in, but the staff stored my luggage at the port and even carried it to my Room. The view from the Room was amazing, and I was deeply moved by the beauty of Mt. Rishiri (Rishiri Fuji). The next day, I was able to rent a car, and they also kept my luggage until departure the following day. The meals were fresh and delicious, and the Onsen was wonderful. I also joined an early-morning guest tour and learned more about Rebun Island. Thank you for your thoughtful hospitality—it made my stay truly comfortable.

My spouse and I stayed on June 19. The building was old, but it was well maintained, and the courtyard after the rain in the morning was lovely. All of the meals were delicious, and we both finished everything. The staff were also very pleasant. We were able to visit Amanohashidate, which we had wanted to see for a long time, and fully enjoy Kyoto by the Sea. Thank you very much.
