Designer's Japanese Room & Large Bath, Village Kyoto

My main purpose this time was to visit Arashiyama, so I stayed at this Hotel in Shijo-Omiya. The nearby bus stop is also conveniently located, with many bus routes to various areas of Kyoto. The Room had an unusual design—a Japanese-style Room with beds—but it was comfortable. If possible, I would have liked a floor chair. The large public bath was also nice, but the only drawback was that the shower pressure was so strong it hurt when sprayed on my face. Also, I heard the women’s public bath was extremely crowded on Saturday night, so it would be helpful if the TV in the Room could show how busy the public bath is, like some other hotels do.

All the staff, including those who handled phone inquiries, were pleasant and kind, which was great. The Japanese-Western style Room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. There was bottled water in the fridge for each guest, and I was happy the in-room hair dryer was a SALONIA.The large public bath also had a spacious tub and was very relaxing. I’ve stayed at several Hotels in Kyoto with a large public bath, and this one was the best. The only downside was that the changing area felt a bit small. There are U-shaped lockers with keys, but even with lockers available it felt like you might have to wait if there were two or three people. Still, I appreciated that cocoa and milk tea sticks were provided so you wouldn’t get cold—it felt very thoughtful.The samue loungewear was comfortable as well, and I found it to be a very relaxing Hotel overall. I’d like to stay again. Thank you very much.
