A two-day stay that felt like stepping into another world The stylish furnishings in each Room and the thoughtful attention to every little detail were exceptional. The birds and insects singing in the garden, the soothing sound of water in the open-air bath, and above all, the chef’s warm personality and outstanding cuisine were truly superb. This is a wonderful auberge I would absolutely love to return to, and one I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone.

At last, I was able to stay here.I managed to book one night on a weekday.It was an Accommodation I’d admired even before making a Reservation.Whenever I thought I could go, it was already booked.I had been waiting impatiently for the right moment.That said, I’ve had disappointing experiences at other Accommodations in the past, so I arrived with mixed feelings of excitement and anxiety.In the end, it was even more wonderful than I expected.After walking through a long narrow passageway (is it called a “tori-doma”?), you finally reach the entrance.There’s also a small space to the side with a freezer—and incredibly, it was stocked with Häagen-Dazs.The furnishings—furniture and sofa—the living room and bedroom, the Japanese-style room, the square indoor bath and round open-air bath...The garden is also impressive, and it’s thoughtfully designed so you can’t see neighboring houses or surroundings at all. You can truly relax without worrying about anyone’s eyes.Because we have family members who wake up late, we requested dinner only. I would have loved to try breakfast as well.We enjoyed an artistic meal by the host in the attached kura storehouse. The dining experience that delights all five senses was outstanding.A quiet adult space where no one disturbs you.Now I understand why Reservations are so hard to get.It takes six hours each way, but next time I really want to return with both dinner and breakfast included.Thank you as well for your helpful advice on souvenirs.
