Oyado Tsukiyo no Usagi (Kyoritsu Resort)

Perhaps because this is Izumo, cute rabbits welcomed us at key spots throughout the Hotel. Parking around Izumo Taisha was packed with long lines since it was the middle of Silver Week, but we were able to park in the Hotel’s large parking lot even before check-in, which was a big help. The welcome drink and yokan were a nice treat after being worn out by the heat. The sweets in the Room were also great. There was water provided in the Room, and although it was outside the Room, there was also an ice machine, which made it easy to prepare our child’s water bottle for the next day. The building seemed relatively new; the Room was clean and spacious enough, and the beds were low so we didn’t have to worry about our child falling off and getting hurt—very comfortable overall. Meals were buffet-style for both dinner and breakfast; dinner included crab and conger eel among a wide variety of ingredients. Breakfast was fun too, with salmon roe and more. We especially loved the private baths. The hinoki bath, rock bath, and bubble bath all felt wonderful... Since children can only enter the large public bath with an adult if they are 6 or under, having a private rental bath allowed our family to relax together at our own pace.

It’s about a 10-minute walk from Izumo Taisha, but the route is a gentle uphill slope. Inasa Beach is also technically within walking distance, but it felt a bit far on foot. I’m glad we went by car.The facilities were clean, and the staff were kind.There are five private baths, so at least one was available, and we were able to try all of them.My skin felt incredibly smooth afterward, and I appreciated the lactic acid drink after bathing.The dinner buffet included crab and tempura, but personally I loved the breakfast seafood bowl with salmon roe and minced tuna. The stick-shaped butter rolls were delicious—I ate several.I’d definitely like to stay here again when visiting Izumo.
