We stayed here with our daughters during summer vacation. Despite the reasonable price, the hospitality was outstanding. Dinner was served in a private room so we could relax, and the large public bath was clean and truly soothing. Breakfast was a buffet, and everything we tried was delicious—such a fun experience. This is an Accommodation that makes you want to come back regularly to unwind.

The facilities were kept very clean, and the staff were kind and attentive, so we had a wonderful stay. Just as we had heard, the hot spring water quality was excellent, and the open-air bath was fantastic. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

The riverside open-air bath was closed, but we used the outdoor Onsen reached by going down 300 steps. The staircase is so narrow that only one person can pass at a time. We were told it’s open until 11:00 p.m., but we were worried about our footing at night, so we went in the evening and again in the morning. While soaking, we enjoyed the river’s flow and the mountains, listening to the sound of the water. The stairs were tough, but I truly felt glad we came. The semi-open-air bath down about 20 steps was also wonderful, with a clear view of the mountains right in front of you. The temperature was perfect for me. I didn’t expect much from the indoor bath, but it had large windows and felt very pleasant; there was a jacuzzi, a reclining bath, and a hotter pool where we could relax comfortably. Everyone at the Accommodation was very kind and welcoming. Dinner came in many small dishes. The beef and the meatballs in the hot pot were delicious. Even simple items like the beef sauce, hot-pot broth, and pickles were all excellent. The portions were just right for us as a couple. I think you need to be fairly fit to visit an outdoor Onsen that requires going down 300 steps—but I’m really glad we did. This isn’t about the Accommodation itself, but both the bus driver from Nasushiobara Station and the person at Shiobara Onsen Terminal who explained a map of Shiobara Onsen were incredibly friendly, which made our memories of this trip even better. We stayed for one night and two days on the senior Plan with two meals included. We received a call in advance to confirm a few details, and the staff member was extremely courteous, which raised our expectations and made us look forward to our stay. Those expectations were fully met: throughout our visit, the service from all staff—at the front desk, restaurant, and elsewhere—was wonderful, natural, and never overbearing. Thanks to you, my spouse and I enjoyed a truly comfortable stay together for the first time in a while. The Facility was clean, the meals were very satisfying, and we felt it was excellent value. I found this Accommodation while looking for a nearby place to stay on our way to Kamikochi. It’s a wonderful Accommodation in a quiet mountain village, and everything—the atmosphere, the meals, and the Onsen—was extremely satisfying. We visited with children, and I really appreciate their thoughtfulness, such as preparing the largest Room for us. Although it was near the end of the season, we were able to join the free firefly viewing event and saw about 10 fireflies—it was truly moving!! The Hida beef in the meal was tender, sweet, and absolutely delicious! The Onsen includes both simple spring water and mildly alkaline water; neither has a strong scent or feel, so it’s very refreshing. Some people might find it just slightly hot. The Room was spacious and relaxing, and even in late July it was cool at night—we could turn off the air conditioner, open the windows, and sleep comfortably. We will definitely be back!! *The only thing I noticed: I’m not sure whether it’s due to prefectural policy or the Accommodation’s policy, but there were many foreign staff members (Southeast Asian) working in the dining area. They were friendly and very kind so it didn’t bother us at all, but some guests may feel differently. If you’re concerned, you may want to contact them in advance.*

Because it is located a little away from Yubatake, we were able to spend a very quiet and relaxing time. The interior has a refined, design-forward atmosphere, yet since the building was originally a cottage and has been renovated, it also feels wonderfully cozy with the warmth and scent of wood. The guest-room bath with free-flowing Onsen water direct from the source was a bit hot at first, but once we got used to it, it felt amazing and allowed us to fully enjoy Kusatsu’s Onsen. After bathing, we felt warmed through to the core and our skin felt pleasantly moisturized. Even the amenities such as lotion were high quality, and we could sense attention to detail throughout. Both dinner and breakfast were truly outstanding, and each dish reflected great care in ingredient selection. The vegetables, shiitake mushrooms, and Joshu beef grilled over a wood fire had an especially fragrant savoriness that left a strong impression. The octopus rice at dinner and the white rice cooked in an earthenware pot at breakfast were also exceptional—perfect with grated yam and bonito flakes. It was a meal where you could really appreciate how delicious the rice itself is. We are not very knowledgeable about wine or sake, but there was an impressive selection, and the well-informed master recommended options tailored to our preferences—making this Accommodation particularly appealing for those who love drinks. Some past Reviews included harsh comments, but after staying ourselves, we could clearly see sincere efforts to improve; it felt like this Accommodation continues to evolve into something even better. Even understatedly put, it was an exceptional stay. We were completely satisfied with everything—the Facility offerings, Onsen baths, cuisine, and hospitality. It was such a wonderful Accommodation that we would absolutely want to stay again when visiting Kusatsu.

We stayed here with our family to celebrate our wedding anniversary. When I mentioned at the time of booking that we were staying for our anniversary, they upgraded our room on the day, and we were truly impressed by how spacious and wonderful it was. At dinner, they took photos for us, and when we left, they even gave us the photos as a gift—it made us so happy. Thanks to the warm hospitality of all the staff, it became a memorable wedding anniversary. We would definitely love to stay again. Thank you very much.

It was a truly wonderful Onsen. Not only was the water quality excellent, but with one indoor bath and two open-air baths, I never got tired of soaking no matter how many times I went in. There was also a free beer event, and I was very pleased with this unexpected service. Because a typhoon made landfall on the day of my stay, I couldn’t go out to eat in the Onsen town at night, which was disappointing—but thanks to this service, I was able to enjoy drinks in the lobby instead. The Room was thoroughly cleaned and the entire building was kept spotless, so I rated my overall satisfaction as 5. I would definitely like to stay again (next time for winter skiing...).

This was my second stay. Just like last time, I was very satisfied. Each dish was well seasoned, and the freshly fried tempura was delicious. The sushi was slightly dry, but still acceptable. Since it was a buffet, empty plates were cleared quickly, so I could go back for seconds comfortably. I would like to come again.

I stay here almost every year, and I especially like the excellent, delicious buffet and the spacious baths where I can truly relax. The Facility is getting old, but it is well maintained and very clean. The courtyard in the accommodation building (?) looks dirty and is covered with a sheet, which doesn’t look very nice. I think it would be great if it could be improved—such as by planting trees—to make it look better.

We stayed as a two-generation family of four. Since my mother has difficulty walking and a barrier-free Room happened to be available, we chose this Room. It was very convenient, on the same floor as the lobby lounge. The Room was furnished as shown in the photos, but some pieces felt a bit in the way for moving around. The toilet door was heavy, and for an in-room toilet it felt oddly like a hospital-style door. There was also a large mirror directly in front of it; the placement wasn’t great because it was on the wall by the toilet and could be seen from the sofa while resting, which I didn’t like. The Room itself is very spacious, which is great. You can step out onto the balcony through the bay window and enjoy fresh forest air, which felt wonderful. The view wasn’t great since we were on the 3rd floor, but in return, the view from the 6th-floor bath area was unbelievably beautiful—something I’d never seen before—and I highly recommend using the baths. The food offered many dishes, and because the lobby area is spacious, getting around during meals was smooth—it really felt like being at a resort. Drink servers were set up so you could get beverages in various areas, and overall service was excellent. We could feel thoughtful service at every moment and truly enjoyed all-inclusive stay. For activities, there seem to be table tennis, karaoke, tennis, etc. Overall, it felt like most guests were Japanese.

After our trip to Furano, we found this Hotel while looking for a place to stay on the way home. Because it’s in the mountains, we were a bit worried about the drive, but it wasn’t far from downtown Ashibetsu, so we arrived without any trouble. We expected an older Facility, but once inside it felt completely modern. Everything was spotless, and there were lots of features younger guests would enjoy. Detox water stations from various brands, a space filled with books, areas to relax and chat, a guest-only lounge, wall art, and exhibits about Yutani Onsen and local coal mine history—there was always something interesting to see. The owl artwork on the wall was especially cute; if there had been any related goods for sale, I would have bought them. After getting out of the bath area, I was disappointed that one spot had that owl covered by a notice—I really wanted to see it. Our Room had a classic Japanese style but was very clean. The tatami mats were fresh and green-blue and felt great. It seemed that the open-air bath and the pot bath used Onsen water. Unfortunately it rained at night, but soaking in the Onsen under cover while listening to the rain was truly relaxing. I feel like I’ve made a connection with Ashibetsu as well—I genuinely want to visit again. I’d definitely recommend this Accommodation to friends and acquaintances. The meals, hot springs, and open-air bath were all outstanding—this was a truly memorable ryokan experience. One suggestion for consideration is offering complimentary drinks during the stay, such as coffee. It would be appreciated to have free coffee available when there is some time before dinner after arrival, or after breakfast.

I finally made it to Kinosaki Onsen, a place I had been wanting to visit for a long time. The public bath hopping, the crab kaiseki dinner, and the charming streets were all wonderful. Surrounded by mountains, this Hotel is quiet and offers a relaxing, unhurried stay. At the front desk, you can borrow items such as soccer balls and badminton equipment. In summer, the indoor pool is also available, making it a comfortable choice for families with children to enjoy with peace of mind. The buffet felt slightly limited in variety, but everything tasted great and I went back for seconds several times. Depending on the season, there are also dishes featuring crab or abalone, giving the impression that guests of all ages can enjoy it. One small point to note is the shop: while there is a wide selection of souvenirs, there are fewer options for snacks and alcohol. You may want to buy those in advance at a convenience store or supermarket on the way. Also, because the building uses centralized air conditioning, there are no individual air conditioners in each Room. If you are sensitive to temperature changes, bringing lighter or warmer clothing may help you stay more comfortable.

I’ve visited Okuhida several times, and among them this Accommodation stands out for its especially delicious cuisine. There are four private Onsen baths, which is wonderful because you can relax without worrying about others. Being able to choose a bath depending on your mood is a real treat for Onsen lovers. The meals always have thoughtful touches, and once again everything was delicious. The only thing to note is the charcoal-grilled Hida beef: depending on how you grill it, it can produce quite a bit of smoke, so a little care is needed. If you’re not careful, the Room can quickly fill with smoke—but that also makes it a memorable dish in its own way. Aside from that, every dish shows creativity in both presentation and flavor, and I enjoy my stay every time I visit. Before I know it, I end up coming back almost every summer. When I want to unwind while enjoying an Onsen and great food, this is the Accommodation I always choose.

Upon arrival, we were guided by a cart to our Room while still in the car, and the check-in process and explanations were handled smoothly and efficiently. We took a walk before dinner, and when we entered the main building, it was a wonderful place with great atmosphere, where we enjoyed a very delicious dinner. I felt it was great to be able to spend such a relaxing time with my wife.
