I have stayed in Shuzenji at Yagyu-no-Sho and at Sora next door, but this was my first stay at Asaba. 　The moment I arrived and stepped into the entrance, a pond and a Noh stage opened up before me—an overwhelming view. I also noticed the pleasant scent of wood and the crisp, refined air. I assume everything is kept impeccably clean. Our Room was in the second-lowest price range, but it still had a view of the Noh stage, and with two adjoining rooms it felt very comfortable. 　Both the staff member who guided us to our Room and handled check-in, and the attendant who served dinner and breakfast, were courteous yet pleasantly friendly, which helped me relax. Some luxury top-tier Accommodations have staff who make guests feel tense, but that was not the case here. 　Dinner made it clear that each dish was prepared with great care. The soft-shelled turtle winter melon soup and the horse mackerel sashimi were outstanding. However, as others have mentioned, since the grilled dish was sweetfish and the rice was also sweetfish rice, I would have preferred a sea fish for the grilled course. 　I used the large public bath about twice without running into anyone, so I could unwind in peace. The in-room bath was also very comfortable. I spent time in the salon before dinner on day one and after breakfast on day two; it was wonderfully quiet there, so I could relax while looking out over the pond and Noh stage. 　I would like to stay again in a different season.

A beautiful garden that reflects the seasons—so captivating you could gaze at it forever. Elegant summer décor that lets you fully experience Kyoto’s traditional culture. Hanging scrolls, ikebana, and a beautifully arranged Room down to every detail. The head chef, attendants, the young proprietress, and the proprietress herself offer warm, attentive hospitality with genuine grace. Thinking that all of this beauty is an expression of love for each guest fills me with freshness and gratitude. At Kikkawa, you can feel the refined spirit of Kyoto—an appreciation for making everyday life beautiful and joyful. It began as an Accommodation I hoped to stay at at least once in my life; before I knew it, this was my 11th visit. A superb culinary Ryokan I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who truly loves Kyoto.

This auberge is well known as an Accommodation serving outstanding fish-focused cuisine. The owner couple are genuinely kind, and you may find it hard to leave. As an auberge, it’s not the place to expect luxurious Room amenities, but they provide a clean and comfortable space. I reduced the bath rating by one star because the private bath is no longer an Onsen, but considering how satisfying the meals are, it more than makes up for it. Dinner is excellent, making full use of high-quality ingredients, but breakfast is equally impressive—be sure to take your time and enjoy it.

At first, the parking area felt a bit scary. There are wheel stops, but if you come in with too much speed, it feels like you could end up in the river. There were three private baths, all a good size. If they were available, we could use them as much as we wanted, and one of the private baths even had a sauna. Amenities are the type you take what you need to your Room, and there was a wide variety. After bathing, they also had ice cream and black soybean tea available. Since it’s all-inclusive, drinks were set out on both the 1st and 2nd floors, which was convenient. On the 2nd floor where the Rooms are, there were two massage chairs that we could use freely. Dinner was a white squid course; it wasn’t live squid so it wasn’t at its sweetest, but there was still sweetness—and for two people it was more than enough quantity (half might have been plenty). We came for nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), and we assumed one fish for two people, so we were surprised that each person got one. It was delicious. The Room was very clean, and the whole Ryokan smelled wonderful. Even though winter is crab season—and I expected everything to smell like crab—it felt very refined with a pleasant woody scent instead. There are no windows so don’t expect any views; however, the space with the sofa (with TV), bed, and washbasin area is very comfortable. The downside is that you can’t tell what the weather is like outside. But if you’re looking to enjoy an escape focused on eating and relaxing indoors, that may not be a bad thing. Breakfast was excellent across the board—the rice cooked in an earthenware pot was great, and so was the mirin-dried horse mackerel. On our way out we also tried grinding coffee with a stone mill for ourselves for once again enjoyed truly good coffee after a long time.

We stayed for one night and two days. The interior was beautiful and spotless. The food was delicious, and the staff’s smiles and hospitality were truly wonderful.

It felt like an extraordinary Hotel experience, as if we were traveling abroad. Both the Japanese staff and the fun international staff provided wonderfully pleasant service, making our stay even more enjoyable. At dinner, they introduced the menu, and our middle- and high-school-aged children were able to enjoy the meal while chatting. At breakfast, we could also see beautiful Mt. Yotei. The fresh sashimi and Hokkaido vegetables in particular were truly delicious. The Room was spacious, with an island kitchen that felt like something overseas. There was a separate bath and shower Room, two toilets, and TVs in each Room. The private bath was a big hit with our teenage daughter as well. As a mother, I was especially grateful for the washing machine in the Room—it really helped to be able to wash clothes that got wet during river rafting in Niseko! Just a short walk away is Tokyu Grand Hirafu’s activity Facility, where our whole family enjoyed pickleball from the morning. There are also photo spots, so we could make good use of even the small amount of time before check-in or after check-out without wasting it—and capture great memories too! It was such a wonderful Hotel that made us think, “We want to come back!”

My mother, who stayed with me and uses a wheelchair, received thoughtful and warm support, which was a great help. I only get to see my mother, who lives far away, a few times a year. I’m truly glad we were able to spend our precious time together here in comfort and at ease. My mother was very happy as well, so we would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

This time, I stayed with my parents. In a word, it is a refined Accommodation—like a hidden retreat for adults. The lobby has high ceilings and an open, airy feel, with beautifully maintained gardens. Tasteful jazz plays from a glass vacuum-tube audio system. The staff are calm and friendly. When I mentioned at dinner that I am left-handed, the younger staff shared the information, and they had chopsticks set accordingly at breakfast the next morning—I was truly happy. Small touches like this mean a lot to guests. “Quality” includes the building and furnishings, of course, but what moves guests and makes them want to return is hospitality above all else. The meals were excellent, and the selection of alcoholic drinks was also outstanding. The tableware had great taste as well. My mother said the portion sizes were just right and she could fully enjoy them. That night all three of us said, “Let’s come again.” More than anything flashy, quietness, genuine hospitality from the staff, and delicious food are what make an Accommodation truly exceptional. I would love to visit again during pufferfish season.

I have stayed here several times, and it remains a wonderful Hotel. The staff are excellent, and the meals are outstanding and delicious. This time, I also enjoyed seasonal ingredients that felt like summer and was very satisfied. The Room is also lovely, with beautiful fittings and flooring. It is quiet and relaxing. Whenever I come here, I can spend my time slowly and peacefully, which I really appreciate. I would definitely like to stay again.

Last summer, after renting a nearby vacation home and visiting Morito Beach, we discovered SCAPES THE SUITE. We made a Reservation because we were drawn to the easy beach access and the property’s atmosphere, and we had been looking forward to our stay. Thanks to you, we were able to enjoy the sea with our family, including our two young daughters. We used the pick-up and drop-off service from Zushi Station, and being greeted by a classic Cedric taxi instantly set a resort mood. We arrived a little early and planned to wait in the lobby, but perhaps because of my IKYU Diamond membership, we were shown to our Room right away. It was the twin “Mandarin Orange.” It felt more spacious than expected, with the Shonan sea right in front of us and Enoshima clearly visible at all times. Due to the weather we only caught a faint glimpse of Mt. Fuji for a moment, but having the ocean always in view was truly soothing. After the concierge kindly showed us around the Room, they helped arrange our one-hour private jacuzzi time (per Room) as well as breakfast time. We were worried about an approaching typhoon, but fortunately it took a course that didn’t affect us much—so we even enjoyed occasional sunshine. Our daughters’ family was able to swim several times, while we grandparents stayed in the Room caring for our 7-month-old grandchild. It was wonderfully relaxing. With children aged three and zero with us, we ate out for dinner; however, the Hotel restaurant also looked very appealing. This time we only had breakfast and lunch here, but next time we would love to try dinner as well. No matter where you look from within this property—the balcony or even from the jacuzzi—the view of the sea never gets old. That scenery itself felt like your greatest hospitality. We also strongly felt how much everyone working there loves Hayama—and loves this Hotel. The pride and care of both the concierge team and those serving at breakfast/the restaurant really came through. We were also delighted by your gift: Genbei’s famous beach sandals. You coordinated sizes and colors for each family member perfectly—our daughters’ family was thrilled. Finally, after receiving an outstanding carrot dressing as well, we headed home feeling refreshed. Not only in summer but in any season, SCAPES is a place where you can truly relax—and we would love to return again. Thank you very much to everyone at the Hotel.

Thank you very much for your heartfelt hospitality during our three-day, two-night stay. Every dish made with local ingredients was deeply flavorful, and the free-flowing natural hot spring water was so soothing it felt as if both body and mind were gently unwinding—my spouse and I were truly refreshed. On the second day, we enjoyed a full round at a golf club near the Accommodation. Although it was extremely hot, the Onsen we had upon returning eased our fatigue, and once again we were reminded of how wonderful BeniyA’s hot spring water is. Also, whenever we encountered your warm smiles and greetings—especially from the attendant in charge of us—we felt at ease. Even a brief word when passing in the hallway showed such thoughtfulness, and we are sincerely grateful that we could spend our entire stay so comfortably. In addition, hearing from the proprietress about the kitchen knives left a strong impression on us—particularly as it came just after seeing news about a female figure skater receiving Japan’s People’s Honour Award. On our way to the large public bath, we caught a glimpse of the kitchen area and felt anew that these knives support your delicious cuisine every day. This trip became a cherished memory for us as a couple. We would love to visit again in another season—and next time, we hope to enjoy winter crab delicacies.

The meals were delicious, and having a private family bath allowed us to relax and enjoy our stay. I was happy that yukata-style loungewear was provided. I did feel the waistband elastic could have been a bit tighter, but it was still comfortable to wear. We could sense thoughtful attention in many little details, which made us feel warmly welcomed. I was looking for a Hotel around Lake Toya where I could stay with my dog, and chose this Hotel— it was truly an outstanding experience. Both breakfast and dinner were exceptionally delicious, and I was completely satisfied. The facilities were clean and modern, and all the staff were wonderful. The only thing I noticed was that although you should be able to enjoy the beautiful view of Lake Toya from the bath, the outside view was blocked for privacy reasons. That part was a little disappointing. Other than that, everything was perfect, and we had a very comfortable stay with our dog. I would love to visit again!

While looking for a Hotel near Churaumi Aquarium, I chose this Accommodation because it had excellent Reviews on every site I checked. We stayed in a family Room, and it was spacious and spotless—our kids were thrilled the moment they saw it! Since you take off your shoes before entering, it felt very clean, which we really appreciated. The bath area was also clean, and as a family that loves bathing, having a large public bath was a big plus. The morning bath felt wonderful too. We had both dinner and breakfast at the buffet. Every dish was carefully prepared and delicious. We had buffets at Resort Hotels on the two previous days as well, but the Okinawan dishes here—such as umi-budo (sea grapes), Okinawa soba, goya champuru, and tacos—were the best at Litt Hotel Nakijin. There was also sashimi, and the seafood rice bowl was excellent! The staff were kind, and we were completely satisfied with everything about this Hotel. When we visit Okinawa again, we would definitely like to stay here again. I’m glad we could spend our last night of our Okinawa trip at such a wonderful Hotel. Thank you very much!

I truly enjoyed Kanazawa’s cuisine from the bottom of my heart. I learned so much—about Kanazawa’s culture and local ingredients. This is purely my personal impression, but I felt that the guest rooms, dining, and hospitality were on par with the luxury Hotels I have stayed at in Japan and abroad, such as Aman, Bulgari, Okura, and Palace.

Our first time in Noto. Every year, we stay at various seaside places on family trips, and this time we were able to spend a truly memorable moment. You kindly checked in with us about the view affected by the earthquake, but we felt that was part of our connection as well, and we want to cherish it. Everyone on Notojima was so warm, and it was clear how deeply they care for Noto—it really came through to us. The hospitality here is the best we have experienced among all the Accommodations we have stayed at. The sushi dinner featured mostly local ingredients from Noto and the surrounding area. Everything was so fresh—full of items we don’t usually get to eat—and we were genuinely impressed. The staff’s every gesture was pleasant, making our stay very comfortable. For breakfast, we enjoyed a delicious meal while looking out at the sea and feeling time pass slowly. I believe their commitment to local ingredients and caring for what matters is what makes it taste so good. It’s not an easy place for us to revisit due to the distance, but this is a truly wonderful Accommodation that makes us want to return in another season.

We stayed for two nights with three generations, and everyone was thoroughly satisfied—not only with the magnificent views from the lobby and our Room, but also with the wonderful hospitality and delicious meals. The staff’s attentive, warm service and smiles were especially memorable, and we felt a gentle, clear, pleasant atmosphere throughout the Hotel. Shizuoka has many sightseeing spots, including a history museum that children can enjoy and Shizuoka Municipal Nihondaira Zoo (this zoo has many thoughtful touches and is truly recommended), so every generation can have a great time. After check-out, we also went to Shimizu Port to enjoy dining and shopping. We visited several attractions including Toshogu Shrine, but there was so much to see that next time we would like to stay at this Hotel again and take more time to fully enjoy both the places we visited this time as well. Thank you very much for accommodating my daughter’s allergies and picky eating. At her earnest request, this was our first mother-and-daughter trip to Hanamaki to experience the world of Kenji Miyazawa. I’m always concerned about her meals when we travel, but thanks to you we were able to relax and enjoy our stay with peace of mind. It is a wonderful Ryokan—so much so that 24 hours in a day didn’t feel like enough. Next time, we would love to visit again with my husband and our other daughter—the whole family.
