The architecture, service, and dining were all exceptional—an experience that went beyond anything I had imagined from a Hotel stay. Although the building is historic, it is clearly cared for with great attention, making for a very comfortable stay. This time we stayed in a suite in the annex, and the view of the main building from the window was beautifully framed; if you love architecture, I highly recommend viewing the main building from the annex. The food was also delicious, and it was a truly wonderful stay. Thank you very much.

This was my first stay. The front desk guidance was clear and very kind—my first impression was excellent. The dinner included in the Plan was plentiful and delicious. The only disappointment was that my Room was on the side without a view. I’ve already made another Reservation for the near future, and I hope to have a great view next time.

It was the best trip. This was a wonderful Ryokan in every respect—Japan’s oldest bath, the cuisine, the service, and the Onsen. I stayed at Kashotei with in-room dining, and every dish of the carefully prepared kaiseki meal was outstanding. The staff were perfect—always smiling and considerate—and the tour was also educational, helping me learn about the hot-spring cure area and the history of the Accommodation. After enjoying the open-air bath, family bath, and Japan’s oldest bath, my skin and hair felt silky smooth. The lounge is great too. Please do visit.

I chose this hotel because it is close to the Chikubu Island cruise boarding point, and both the Italian dinner and the Japanese-Western breakfast buffet were delicious. Above all, the hospitality of all the staff was very pleasant. I was able to relax and take it easy throughout my stay. Thank you very much.

At check-in, our Room wasn’t quite ready and it would have been another 15 minutes, but the staff immediately suggested the lounge and took care of us. We enjoyed drinks in the lounge and were shown to our Room without a long wait. The staff’s service was very refined. The Room had four proper beds, so we could relax comfortably. The bathroom was simple and clean. We booked a Plan with breakfast included. The wide variety of potato fries was delicious, and we enjoyed them with soup curry. The honey was also excellent. They kindly accommodated our family’s request for sushi without wasabi. This is a Hotel we’d love to visit again.

We stayed here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The entire property was spotless, and the Room was wonderful. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a special escape from everyday life. All of the staff were extremely courteous, and we could feel their thoughtful attention throughout our stay, which made our time there truly comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious, and we enjoyed every dish. Everything was excellent, and mealtimes were especially memorable during this stay. We were completely satisfied with everything—the Room, the food, and the service. Thank you for such a wonderful time. We would love to visit again.

We stayed again this year, following last year’s visit. This time, it was a 2-night, 3-day beach trip for three of us: an elderly couple and our granddaughter (first grade). Both on arrival and departure, the staff guided us in the parking lot, helped carry our luggage, and spoke to us kindly—this was extremely helpful. Working in this heat must be tough; thank you for all your hard work. The building was very clean, and the Room cleaning was thorough. The meals were delicious, and we enjoyed dinner both nights while watching beautiful sunsets. The dinner style differed between the first and second nights: on the first night we had a kaiseki course featuring Murakami beef shabu-shabu as the main dish, and on the second night we had a seafood kaiseki course. Both the Murakami beef on day one and the crab on day two were excellent—our granddaughter finished her crab within minutes of starting dinner. If I had to ask for one thing, I would have loved even a small portion of Murakami beef on the second night as well, since it’s something you can only eat when visiting this area (though we do make use of hometown tax donations). We were originally told that dinner would be at “Kaiou” on both nights, but about 15 minutes before dinner on the second night we suddenly received notice of a venue change. The staff member apologized repeatedly; however, in a Hotel that accommodates so many guests, it actually reassured me that careful checks are being done in advance. Buffet-style dining isn’t bad, but for an elderly couple like us, having kaiseki served at just the right timing is much easier. I sincerely hope you will continue offering it. It’s also wonderful that right behind the Hotel is a beach with excellent access: after leaving the beach we could rinse off sand at the outdoor showers and head straight to the Onsen. There was even a washing machine available to rinse swimsuits—truly convenient. After soaking in the Onsen, all three of us relaxed in the lobby while enjoying complimentary Momotaro ice pops. On day two, when we asked at reception for advice so we could enjoy swimming at Sasagawa Nagare Beachline area more fully—including which beach and where to park—they kindly helped us with great care. There was also plenty of information we couldn’t get from checking with AI beforehand; combining both made our trip even more enjoyable. Local knowledge really is invaluable. On our final day as well—at our granddaughter’s request—we enjoyed swimming until mid-afternoon before rinsing off sand in the shower and saltiness in the Onsen prior to heading home. Driving back to Tokyo after swimming was tiring, but it became a fulfilling trip full of wonderful memories. If my stamina holds up, I’d love to come again next year. Thank you very much.

From the warm hospitality to the excellent service from all the staff, we had a wonderful time. We also enjoyed unexpected activities such as the table tennis service, and the ocean view from our Room was beautiful—making it a truly memorable day. The meals offered a great variety, and we were able to fully enjoy many of Toyama’s local specialties. The evening course dinner was carefully prepared dish by dish, and we were extremely satisfied. One thing we hope will improve further is the overall cleanliness and odor inside the building. We stayed in a non-smoking Room, but noticed a slight smell of cigarette smoke on the floor. Since it is such a lovely Ryokan, improving this point would make the stay even more comfortable. Other than that, everything was truly wonderful—this is a Ryokan we would like to give five stars. It’s a place we would love to visit again with our family. We would be even happier if these points have been improved by our next visit.

This Hotel is just a short walk from Gojo Station, and even though it was pouring rain that day, I arrived quickly with a light jog. The drink corner on the first floor and the amenities were well stocked. I often use coin laundry during this season, and this Hotel has many machines, so I could use them smoothly without waiting in line—most Hotels seem to have only two or three. It was also very comfortable to be able to take a bath in the large public bath next door while doing laundry.

I stayed for one night during the Obon holiday period, and it was a truly wonderful stay. With only 10 Rooms, the Accommodation was very quiet and private, and I hardly ran into other guests during my stay. The Room was spacious and spotless, and the open-air bath in the Room was very relaxing, allowing me to unwind at a leisurely pace. The food was also excellent, and I was extremely satisfied.

This time, we visited Lake Kawaguchi and Hakone for the first time, looking forward to seeing Mt. Fuji as part of my wife’s birthday trip. Although it was too cloudy to see the Mt. Fuji we had hoped for, we stayed at Setsugetsuka Bettei Suiun in Hakone and were able to fully enjoy the area. Our Room was a Standard Fourth, and it was very practical and well maintained with thorough cleaning, so we had a comfortable stay. The Onsen was at just the right temperature for me and left me feeling refreshed from the core, and it was also great to be able to use L’OCCITANE shampoo. For dinner, being able to choose the main dish and rice during the meal felt like a thoughtful service that let us decide based on our appetite. Breakfast offered such an abundant variety that we were so full we couldn’t even eat lunch afterward. The after-bath lounge area, along with complimentary drinks and snacks on each floor, was also a welcome service whenever we felt a little hungry. The staff’s hospitality was polite and easy to understand, which left a strong impression on us as well. After checkout we went to Gora Park, and at that time a parking staff member kindly advised us that taking the mountain railway one stop would allow us to walk downhill from top to bottom more easily—very helpful advice for an older couple like us. We hope to come back soon for our “I want to see Mt. Fuji with my own eyes!” revenge trip, and when we do, we would love to stay with you again.

Everything was excellent. The Room even had a massage chair. The bathroom was separate from the toilet and very spacious. Bicycle rentals were also available. I can’t believe it at this price. I’d love to stay again!

This was my first stay. The Hotel lobby is small, but it features Takeo pottery and Arita ware created in collaboration with overseas designers. It’s a stylish, relaxing space, and we were welcomed with chilled Ureshino tea and a small sweet. The Room felt natural and calming. This Hotel is known for its sauna, and even though I’m not great with saunas, I was able to relax fully and felt completely refreshed (laughs). We stayed as a couple this time, but it’s also a soothing Accommodation where solo female travelers can feel safe staying alone. It has become one of the Hotels I’d love to stay at again.

The sashimi boat platter at dinner was stunning and tasted amazing. Our whole family loved it, and we really enjoyed our drinks. Of course, the other dishes were delicious as well. Breakfast was a buffet, and the sashimi was excellent too. The sauna was very clean and relaxing. It opens from 4:00 a.m., so we could refresh with an early-morning sauna. We’d definitely love to come again.

I stayed here after reading the Reviews. The Room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast had a wide variety of options and was delicious. It is directly connected to the station, so you can get around without being affected by the weather, and the front desk staff were quick to respond, making for a comfortable stay. I would like to stay here again.

We originally planned to stay for one night, but since the weather at our next destination didn’t look promising, we decided on a last-minute Multiple Night Stay here. Before staying here, we had been at the Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima, and compared with that, this Hotel felt more family-friendly and enjoyable even with children. It’s a little away from the center of Dogo Onsen, but a free retro-style Shuttle Service bus runs regularly, so the distance hardly bothered us. There is a footbath at the Hotel entrance that you can enjoy anytime. In the evening, there was also a festival-style kids’ fair held next to the souvenir shop area, which delighted our child. The baths are divided between an indoor bath on the 3rd floor and an open-air bath on the 4th floor. Each has its own atmosphere, and it was great being able to enjoy both. The food was delicious and our whole family was very satisfied. The staff were courteous as well, so we could relax and feel comfortable throughout our stay. This last-minute Multiple Night Stay turned out to be absolutely the right choice. When we visit Dogo Onsen as a family again, we would definitely like to stay here again—certainly a repeat for us. The Dogo Prince Hotel character “Yutama Prince” greeted us at check-in and saw us off at check-out at the entrance. We hope he keeps up the great work!

I stayed in a renovated Room with a sauna. The Room was spacious and comfortable. I’d like to visit again, so I’d like to point out a few things that concerned me. About the amenities in the Room: There were two single-use sets (osaji). At minimum, you use them twice for breakfast, right? It wasn’t enough for two people. When I called to request more, I was told it would be 500 yen per set, so I paid 1,000 yen. Since I wanted to enjoy the Onsen and sauna many times, I use lotion each time. In Rooms at a similar price range, it’s common to have proper branded products rather than single-use items, so this was disappointing. The “totonoi” chair for relaxing after the sauna smelled terrible and had sweat stains, so I couldn’t sit on it. The tiles around the shower also had mildew and smelled bad. There were lots of spider webs on the stone wall, and many dead insects fell down. If cleaning is done properly every day, I don’t think that many spider webs would build up. The decorative houseplant in the Room was covered in dust. Please install real plants instead. I was surprised by how much alcohol was stocked in the refrigerator. The labels were roughly handwritten as well, and if they are paid items, it would be better to offer just a few bottles as “recommended by the Accommodation.” Keeping it simple would be best. As this is a long-established Ryokan, many of the staff are older, and talking with them was soothing. The food was incredibly delicious—I was very satisfied. The large public bath felt so old that it honestly scared me (lol). On my way out, I suggested replacing the sauna chair to the proprietress, so when I visit again I hope it will have been replaced! I’ll come again. Thank you very much.

Since we reserved a detached Room, we were able to check in early and enjoy the open-air bath at the large public bath at our own pace. The Room was spacious and spotless, and above all, the charming open-air bath was outstanding. The meals were not only made with quality ingredients but also thoughtfully prepared with extra care, which we enjoyed to the very end. Every member of the guest room staff was pleasant, chatting with us in a friendly way while keeping a comfortable distance. This is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again.

I stayed here because I wanted to visit a well-known nearby izakaya, and I was impressed by the stylish, locally inspired interior displays—it was a real treat for the eyes. The homemade breakfast was warm and comforting, and I enjoyed it very much. Thank you.

I was able to enjoy my stay again this time with no complaints. Some people may have different opinions, but I was personally satisfied.
