I stayed one night in a twin Room with my daughter on our trip to Kyoto. Despite being a twin, it was incredibly affordable and very clean. After that, we stayed at a decent Hotel in Osaka, but in terms of value for money this place was overwhelmingly better—if anything, the Room itself was better than some mediocre mid-range Hotels. On the morning of our stay, they kindly stored our luggage so we could explore Kyoto. Being able to leave our bags before check-in was extremely helpful. I’d love to stay again. If there were Hotels like this elsewhere, I would definitely use them too.

Honestly, I liked it so much that I almost don’t want to spread the word through Reviews (lol). This time, I prioritized access from the station and price, and since my stay was short, I made a Reservation with almost no expectations for the Hotel. But in the best way possible, it completely exceeded them. All of the staff are simply wonderful. Stylish but not pretentious, with a comfortable sense of distance—they naturally check in on you at just the right moments. The amenities in front of reception are well stocked, and you can select everything you need. They even have pajamas, and the amenities selection is so complete you’ll think, “Is there anything missing?”! The welcome tea set made me go, “Wait—why is this so stylish?” Everything was delicious. You can really feel how much care went into that welcome tea set. Absolutely amazing! The burgers at the first-floor café were also surprisingly good. Room service hours had already ended, so I had one for lunch instead! I didn’t use it this time, but apparently there’s all-you-can-drink beer from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM!! And above all, the handwritten guide introducing Yanesen around the Hotel was fantastic. It’s handmade by staff and covers everything from restaurants to cafés to sightseeing spots—you can truly feel their desire for guests to enjoy the neighborhood. Depending on your purpose, a Hotel often ends up being just a place to sleep—but here, for the first time in a while, I felt that “staying at the Hotel itself is fun.” …That said, I kind of don’t want it to become too famous and crowded (lol). Next time I’m in Tokyo, I definitely want to stay here again.

I found the self check-in convenient. However, although I originally planned to stay with my husband, I ended up staying alone. The screen still showed 2 guests, so I politely asked if it was okay to change it. A female front desk staff member in her 40s did not listen to what I was saying and said, “If you don’t understand, shall we do it here?” (the usual front desk service), assuming on her own that I didn’t know how to operate it. She spoke in a condescending way with an exasperated look, which made me feel uncomfortable. The other staff members were very kind.

This is my fifth stay. I keep coming back because check-in is easy and I’m not tied to strict time constraints. The Room also has a nice, camping-like feel in a good way, which I really like.

We stayed as a family of three. While the location is a bit inconvenient without a car due to its distance from the station, the beautiful scenery and peaceful atmosphere made up for it. From our room, we enjoyed stunning views of snow-capped mountains in the distance. The bath was pleasantly warm, allowing us to relax and relieve our fatigue. It was a wonderful trip where we could visit places like Moto-Zenkoji Temple, Iida's attractions, and Tenryu Gorge. Thank you very much for your hospitality. We missed visiting the Central Tectonic Line Museum in Oshika Village this time, but we look forward to staying here again when we plan to go there!

It was a one-night stay despite the bad weather. We rested comfortably in a clean Room and enjoyed a delicious breakfast. The owner’s hospitality was wonderful, making it a great memory. If we have the chance, we would love to stay again. Thank you for taking care of us.

The spacious and clean Room was very relaxing. I don't think I've ever been this satisfied with a Business Hotel before. It was perfect! I would definitely like to stay again.

We stayed from 7/18 to 7/21 as a family of four: a couple and two children (6th and 3rd grade). We’ve stayed at several whole-house Accommodations before, but this one is by far the best!! This time we stayed in the Plumeria Room with a private pool, and the kids were thrilled! Whenever they had free time during our stay, they were in the pool. The kitchen was fully equipped with cooking utensils and tableware, so we cooked dinner twice during our stay (one was a BBQ) and made breakfast every day without any inconvenience. Basic seasonings such as oil, soy sauce, and salt were also provided. The large refrigerator had complimentary water and canned tea that we could drink freely, which was incredibly helpful. The Room was very spacious and stylish. The bathrooms were kept very clean, which made our stay comfortable. There were two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two toilets, which was very convenient when we came back from the beach and everyone wanted to shower. We requested BBQ equipment rental on the morning of the day, and when we returned from going out it had been set up on the terrace. The kids loved their routine of eating meat until they got hot—and then jumping in for a swim. During our stay we even found stag beetles by the poolside about twice—our son was beyond excited! Stag beetles, shiny jewel bugs, geckos; tons of crabs and hermit crabs on the beach; plus unlimited swimming in the pool—this place is paradise for kids. If we can come back again, we definitely will!! It became an unforgettable summer memory.

Due to the typhoon approaching the Izu Islands, I thought the weather might not be favorable, but there was hardly any rain or wind, making for a pleasant stay. The warm hospitality of the owner couple was comforting, and I was able to enjoy a wonderful autumn day. The open-air bath, full of handmade charm, made me forget the hustle and bustle of city life—it was truly impressive. The meals had an original touch unique to this accommodation; the sashimi made from local fish was excellent. The Shirodai (possibly Emperor Snapper?) was delicious. The simmered Kinmedai (Golden Eye Snapper) had just the right amount of sweetness and tasted amazing. Thank you for providing such a wonderful day! The guest's crab was adorable!

The baths are simply excellent. The Rooms and building are somewhat old overall, but the baths are truly wonderful. The meals aren’t flashy, but they taste good and come in satisfying portions, so we were pleased overall. We were able to set off fireworks in the parking area a short distance away, and the kids seemed to really enjoy it.

We stayed here with a friend couple the night before visiting Kamikochi. The Accommodation has been beautifully renovated and was very comfortable. The bath water was on the lukewarm side, but since it was summer, that worked well. Dinner sukiyaki was a little sweet, but delicious. At 4:00 a.m., a sandwich boxed breakfast had been prepared in the refrigerated locker, which helped us so much. Everywhere in Kamikochi that serves food had long lines, but thanks to the packed meal we could go without worrying about finding something to eat. We really appreciated the sandwiches, yogurt, and bottled tea. It was also great that we could leave our car here and walk to Sawando Bus Terminal. Thank you for taking care of us.

We stayed as a family. The view of Nagasaki from the window was beautiful. There is a lounge available to all guests, and we could easily drop in when we arrived at the Accommodation or after taking a bath. The selection was plentiful, including alcoholic drinks. At night, the lighting is dimmed and it becomes a cozy, atmospheric space, so we enjoyed Nagasaki’s night view while relaxing there. For the dinner buffet, you can choose from three time slots; we picked the earliest one at 5:00 PM, and it was less crowded—highly recommended. Every dish was delicious. I know buffets can be hit or miss, but we were very satisfied. We enjoyed sashimi, sushi, steak, and more. We were also happy that the ice cream was Häagen-Dazs. The baths alternated between men’s and women’s hours, but we especially liked the 11th-floor panoramic bath with its great views. We’ve stayed at many Hotels, but overall everything here was satisfying and it became a wonderful memory. If I had to mention one thing: my preference is for towels to be provided in the bath area so you can borrow them there and return them afterward.

The view from the Room (overlooking the Kamo River) was wonderful. I also liked the calm atmosphere throughout the entire building. As for breakfast, the egg dishes were delicious. The Hotel staff were impressive as well, providing smooth service from check-in to check-out. I loved the overall ambiance and would like to stay at this Hotel again. Thank you very much.

The room was so clean that it seemed like it had just been made. I was satisfied with the bath amenities and the bed. Above all, the staff at the property. When I mentioned that I was going to the Toshiya at Sanjusangendo (Sanjusangendo), they made suggestions to accommodate that, and I was pleased with their thoughtfulness.

It was a truly wonderful Ryokan with a nostalgic, traditional atmosphere while still feeling very clean. I especially recommend the private open-air bath in the guest room—it was incredibly relaxing. We had both breakfast and dinner, and they were excellent in both taste and portion size. Also, even though it was last-minute, I asked on the day for a surprise plate for my wife, and they kindly arranged it for us. I don’t usually return to the same place when traveling, but this is somewhere I’d like to visit again next year. Highly recommended.

It was a very beautiful place, the food was delicious, and we had a very comfortable stay. If we had known earlier that the number of private baths differs between the lobby building and the Accommodation building, we could have enjoyed it even more.

We stayed for two nights with our dog. The treats, nearby walking routes, and a dog bed were all well provided. We had a very comfortable stay. The only thing we noticed was road noise. The Accommodation is in a quiet residential area, but because the bedroom faces the street, we could hear passing cars at night and woke up several times. The built-in hinoki bath was wonderful with soft water, but Gokoyu, a 5-minute walk away, was excellent. Thank you very much.

The staff's service when handling the keys was excellent, and I was completely satisfied with this accommodation. The location, just 5 seconds to the beach and with BBQ facilities, was also perfect. I have stayed at various villas, but this one allowed me to spend an amazing day. Thank you so much! I would love to stay here again in the summer. It’s a beautiful spot with stunning sunrises! Honestly, I want to lower my rating so it doesn’t get fully booked... but I was extremely satisfied! Thank you very much!! I will definitely visit again :)

We stayed at UKAN on the BBQ course Plan. Check-in was at 3:00 PM, but they let us park from around 2:00 PM, so we could play in the sea right in front. There is a swimming beach next to the Accommodation, and it felt like it continued all the way to the front of where we stayed. It seemed safe to swim; there were quite a few people at the main beach, but right in front was quiet and mostly just for guests. The slope from sand to water is a bit steep, so small children may need extra attention, but it’s still fine to enjoy. There’s a breakwater at the edge of the swimming area where you can fish. That was our main purpose this time, and we were happy we got to enjoy fishing. The Room was generally clean. There was a stain left by previous guests that seemed to be removed around check-in time. We appreciated their effort to keep things clean, though it would have been even better if it had been finished before check-in. For the BBQ, the portions looked small based on how they were plated, so we went out to buy extra food at a convenience store—but in the end it was enough. Breakfast might feel a little light. The BBQ Facility includes a grill and table and is basically sufficient, but better lighting, table settings, and an improved BBQ area layout would likely increase satisfaction. As for insects, since it’s between mountains and the sea, I think it can’t really be helped. If you keep everything closed they generally don’t come in. However, because you go back and forth between the Room during BBQ time, some inevitably got inside. If insect control could be improved further, it would feel more reassuring. (I’m not too bothered by bugs, but my wife felt a bit uneasy.) The air conditioning in the Room was comfortable, but there was an odor in the washroom—maybe humidity or drainage—that bothered me. Overall we were satisfied despite these points. We’d like to stay again soon.

APA Hotels offer the same level of quality wherever you stay, which is a big help. If you’re unsure, you can’t go wrong with an APA Hotel. Breakfast was served on the 1st floor and offered as a set-choice style rather than a Japanese/Western buffet, and it was very delicious!
