Prince Hotel Shimonoseki

It’s a standard Room, but it felt spacious!Most amenities are provided, which was very helpful.The parking garage goes up to the 7th floor. There’s no elevator, but it’s roomy (the ocean view from the 7th floor is beautiful, so if you don’t have much luggage, I recommend parking on the 7th floor).It’s within walking distance from Shimonoseki Station and Sea Mall Shimonoseki—perfect for a casual stroll.If you follow Google Maps, the route to the Hotel might be a bit hard to understand. It’s behind a main road and on a one-way street.Right outside the back exit of the Hotel there are some adult-oriented shops lined up, but there were no touts, so I think it’s fine to walk (the parking area is closer from the back exit).The breakfast toast was really delicious!

I made a Reservation because it was the cheapest option and only a 5-minute walk from the station. I was traveling mainly for trains, so I usually don’t place much importance on Hotels, and based on the price and exterior I had no expectations before entering. However, even the single room was spacious, and the bathtub was comfortably large. The room also seemed very well cleaned. I stayed for two nights and was able to rest well. If I come to Shimonoseki again, I will stay here again. Two points to note: (1) There is no overflow drain in the bathtub, so if you leave the water running, the unit bath will flood (you’ll notice if you’re a bit careful). (2) The free breakfast is very simple—toast, jams/spreads, and instant coffee. I used it, but if you want more variety, I recommend having breakfast elsewhere.
