Gora Kadan Fuji

After something great happened at work, I wanted to celebrate by relaxing on my own at an Accommodation with a view of Mt. Fuji, so I decided to stay solo.The staff assigned to my Room took wonderful care of me throughout my stay, the food was delicious, and I was able to spend a truly relaxing time.Mt. Fuji can be unpredictable and I could only see it in the early morning, but it was so beautiful that waking up at 5 a.m. didn’t feel like a burden at all.When I consulted in advance about wanting to celebrate and have cake, they arranged one from a nearby cake shop, and I was able to enjoy it in my Room together with champagne as a welcome drink.The head chef was also very thoughtful, which made me very happy.Adjusting the temperature of the Onsen in the Room was a bit tricky, but other than that there were no issues and I was completely satisfied.You can clearly see Mt. Fuji even from the Room—this Accommodation’s location is truly incredible.

We stayed in the “Kei” Room. As in Hakone, the arrival lobby is on the top floor, and you take an elevator down to the guestroom floors. Kei was on the 7th floor. It’s a suite layout with the bath at the center, separating the bedroom and dining room. Both the bedroom and dining room have sofa areas where you can relax.The bath is not open-air, but you can fully open the windows and bathe while feeling the breeze and gazing at Mt. Fuji right in front of you. The tub is designed for reclining, which was very comfortable.The large public Onsen bath on the 6th floor was the most beautiful and comfortable we’ve experienced among all Onsen Ryokan we’ve stayed at. Even the indoor bath has a jacuzzi; outdoors there are both a garden view and a Mt. Fuji view across a pond (alternating by time). Dragonflies and turtle doves even came to visit around the pond. The sauna room is accessed from outdoors; it has windows so you can enjoy the view while using it. We enjoyed it twice—at night and again in the morning.The pool on the 5th floor includes an indoor pool, a jacuzzi, and a small outdoor pool. The deepest part of the indoor pool is 150 cm, and its temperature is slightly cool—better suited for serious swimming (as in Hakone). We enjoyed alternating between warming up in the jacuzzi or outdoor pool and swimming indoors.Both lighting in both areas—the large public bath and pools—is quite dim for an atmospheric feel; it was challenging for aging eyes.If you plan to use either frequently, staying in one of rooms in main building (rather than one of three detached buildings) is more convenient.From being welcomed at arrival by car to luggage handling, escorting us to our Room, serving matcha tea with sweets—everything flowed smoothly without interruption. We truly admire how well coordinated your staff are through daily effort.We had both dinner and breakfast served in our Room; timing, communication, explanations—everything was flawless yet warm and pleasant.We arrived very late due to heavy rain after a typhoon, but by next morning it was perfectly clear—and we were able to fully enjoy Mt. Fuji without clouds.This is an Accommodation we definitely want to revisit. We’re also looking forward to your opening in Kyoto as well.
