Onahama Ocean Hotel & Golf Club

Guest Room & Amenities: We had a twin room, and it was spacious. The view from the window was great. Amenities are picked up from in front of the front desk. There is a wide range of loungewear sizes, and I was happy that you can take different sizes for the top and bottom. There were only a few tissues in the room, so I used the ones I brought with me. The safe is small.Service: Very good.Onsen/Baths: The water was nice, but it’s puzzling that there are three bathing areas for women and only one Onsen bath. If heated water is necessary, wouldn’t just one be enough? The open-air bath had a lovely atmosphere and was great.Facility & Equipment: There is a sofa in front of where the air conditioner blows, so cold air hits you directly; it was too chilly to sit there for long.The parking lot is a bit narrow. The underground parking area would be tough for elderly guests to walk up from.Dining: Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, and everything was very delicious. It was disappointing that the spare ribs at dinner were overly dry and had become tough; otherwise, we were very satisfied.Overall Satisfaction: We stayed during Obon, but aside from the parking lot it didn’t feel overly crowded, and we were able to relax comfortably. We felt we’d found a great Hotel.

The deep-fried mehikari served at the dinner buffet was absolutely delicious!The bath also had an ocean view and was spacious, which was great.I have errands in Tohoku every year around this time, so I’ll be staying again next year.
