The deep-fried mehikari served at the dinner buffet was absolutely delicious!The bath also had an ocean view and was spacious, which was great.I have errands in Tohoku every year around this time, so I’ll be staying again next year.

The room had an ocean view with a breathtaking scenery that made me want to keep looking. At night, I enjoyed the moonlit sea, which alone made the stay worthwhile. The ocean view can also be seen from the lobby, where many people were relaxing with drinks in hand. The room key was a classic acrylic bar type, which felt nostalgic. The room itself was spacious! The facilities were standard but sufficient, and despite its age, everything was clean and well-maintained—though this might vary depending on the room. We stayed as a family of three in a twin room; I used the sofa bed and found it very comfortable. It’s great that they provided enough beds for everyone since some hotels nowadays only offer two double beds or futons on raised platforms without extra beds. Meals were buffet-style with plenty of variety for everyone to enjoy. The dessert section had various self-serve options that were fun to try out. There were lively groups of men who seemed to be golfers at some tables, but there were also many families dining as well. Breakfast was delicious too; however, tables with ocean views filled up quickly.As others have mentioned, it’s quite far from the large public bath area to the open-air bath—you’ll need to walk a fair bit while undressed! Also, since it’s small in size, not many people can fit at once. When I visited the open-air bath in the morning during August, overgrown weeds blocked what could have been a beautiful view of the sea—a bit disappointing given its potential.The woven basket bags provided for trips to the baths were convenient.There isn’t a convenience store within walking distance nor much available for purchase inside the hotel (though there are vending machines), so I recommend buying anything you need beforehand. The complimentary bottled water in our fridge was helpful.You can get discounted tickets for Aquamarine Fukushima here as well—another great perk!
