The local cuisine menu was excellent—quite different from the typical tempura or branded beef often found at a Ryokan. There were many dishes, and the delicate Japanese seasoning was a hit even with my elderly mother. We were also impressed by the thickness of the matsutake mushrooms. After dinner, the traditional Japanese house across from the Accommodation was opened as a lounge, where we could enjoy complimentary self-serve wine, snacks, and coffee. We stayed in an annex. Although it looked old from the outside, the interior had been renovated in a modern style with low beds and Ryukyu tatami mats, making it very comfortable. The zelkova tree in the garden—said by staff to be 800 years old—was magnificent. The Onsen was free-flowing from the source. Perhaps because it was a weekday, there was no need for a Reservation for the private bath and there was no time limit, so my mother and I could relax at length. My brother used both the key bath and standing bath as well, and said he didn’t encounter any other guests—it felt completely private. The water quality was clear with no strong characteristics; without added water it was 42°C, which seemed ideal for longer soaks. However, we were disappointed that soap and shampoo were not allowed in the open-air bath attached to our Room (presumably for environmental reasons). That meant we could only use it briefly—for example after washing our face in the morning. As for service: there often seemed to be no one around reception or near the entrance area, and even the lounge across the way was unstaffed. With few employees—and perhaps because they were busy—there were no lengthy explanations of meal courses or stories about this Accommodation unless you asked. When we did ask questions they responded politely and kindly, so there were no issues with service overall; however, guests who enjoy conversation with staff or more intimate hospitality may find it lacking. Our family prefers unobtrusive service where you’re left alone when you want to be, so we liked this Accommodation very much. We would like to stay again.

I had a wonderfully relaxing stay. The Room was very spacious with a calm atmosphere, and the view of the Yoshii River from the large window was amazing. The Onsen left my skin feeling silky smooth, and with free-flowing natural spring water, the bath was very clean and truly refreshing. The meals were also delicious, and I was able to enjoy them slowly in a peaceful dining area. It was excellent. Thank you as well to all the staff for your kind and attentive service.

We stayed with 2 adults, 3 children, and 1 dog. Even though we arrived after 6:00 PM on the day of check-in, thank you for accommodating us by changing our meal time, moving us to a dining Room where we could eat next to our dog, and upgrading our Room free of charge (even though we didn’t ask). We only realized it after we got home (laughs). Despite the busy Obon season, the front desk staff remained calm and composed, and the attendants greeted us with smiles. Our children had a great time as well. We truly appreciate being able to spend such a meaningful time there. We would love to stay again if we have the opportunity.
