The service was excellent, and we had a very comfortable stay in a clean, well-cared-for Room (Japanese-style). The meals featured a great selection of local specialties and were both fun and delicious. However, I was surprised that someone on the same floor had a dog. I could also hear it barking in the Room, which was a bit unpleasant, and I wondered whether this is allowed. Other than that, everything was perfect.

We stayed for two nights, using this dog-first Accommodation as our base for exploring Shiga and Hyogo. The Room had a wonderful atmosphere, and even with five adults it didn’t feel cramped—we were able to relax comfortably. Having a convenience store right in front is very handy, but since the street out front has quite a bit of traffic, light sleepers may notice the noise. The bedroom was on the second floor, and the stairs were steeper than expected. With a small dog you can probably carry them up, but if you’re bringing a medium-sized or larger dog that sleeps with you upstairs, it might be a bit challenging. Our dog was happy relaxing downstairs, so it wasn’t an issue for us. We also wanted to visit “Juunintoiro” with our dog, but we ended up getting back late from watching the Inter-High games and couldn’t make it—such a shame. Next time we’d love to come in a cooler season, enjoy Omihachiman at a leisurely pace, and stop by Juunintoiro during our walk!

Simple yet comfortable rooms, many of which have separate bathrooms and washbasins. Although there are no windows, the lighting creates a relaxing atmosphere. There is also a space on the floor where you can enjoy tea and unwind. Breakfast is served in two shifts, starting at 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM, with each shift lasting 30 minutes, which was surprising. It would have been helpful if this detail was clearly explained during the Reservation process. However, since there seemed to be plenty of seating available, we were not rushed even after the designated time had passed. Still, it made for a slightly hurried morning. The location is excellent with many tourist attractions and restaurants within walking distance.

We had a wonderful two-day stay and were extremely satisfied with the impeccable hospitality of all the staff. The meals prepared by the Kyoto chef, both breakfast and dinner, were exceptionally delicious and left us deeply impressed. My wife, who is from Kansai, loved the morning white miso soup so much that she wanted seconds, so I shared mine with her. The unlimited rice and raw eggs were also greatly appreciated. The three of us are already talking about visiting again this summer!

The dinner was impressively elaborate. It was incredibly delicious, and I believe staying here was worth it just for the meal.

Atsugi Nanasawa Onsen was wonderful. We were able to use two indoor baths and one open-air bath almost privately.

We stayed for two nights with our dog. The treats, nearby walking routes, and a dog bed were all well provided. We had a very comfortable stay. The only thing we noticed was road noise. The Accommodation is in a quiet residential area, but because the bedroom faces the street, we could hear passing cars at night and woke up several times. The built-in hinoki bath was wonderful with soft water, but Gokoyu, a 5-minute walk away, was excellent. Thank you very much.

There is a guide to the Accommodation, and there was a small sign that said “ZEN,” but the building was hard to see from outside, so I wasn’t sure I was in the right place and got lost at first. After climbing the stairs surrounded by greenery, I finally reached a beautiful standalone Accommodation and felt relieved. In reality, it’s not possible to drive into the parking area; you can only park in the space in front of it. It gets very dark at night, so if it’s your first time, it may be hard to find—checking in while it’s still daylight is recommended. Inside, the space feels open and airy, and relaxing on the outdoor chairs was a real luxury. It was a bit disappointing that mornings and evenings were still chilly. There is a wood-burning stove, but I missed that it requires advance Reservation and an additional fee. Since it wasn’t really stove season anyway, I imagine it would be excellent in winter. There also seemed to be a beer server (advance Reservation?), as well as a kitchen and electric cooktop, so self-catering is possible—I probably just wasn’t prepared enough to make full use of everything. I think satisfaction would be even higher with a Multiple Night Stay, especially in winter.

We stayed here as a family of four, including my 26-year-old and 20-year-old sons and my wife, after attending the ONE OK ROCK concert. This Ryokan, with its traditional Japanese style, allowed us to relax and recover from our fatigue. The sandwiches were incredibly delicious. On our way back, we bought Jigoku Mushi Pudding as a souvenir from Kannawa Onsen. Although we checked in late, the electronic Onsen system and unmanned reception made it convenient to use without any hassle. The stone-paved streets of Kannawa Onsen also had a wonderful atmosphere.

I had the privilege of spending New Year's for the first time at Kinjohro, one of Kanazawa's most renowned ryokan. With my mother being from Kanazawa and having spent six years studying in this city myself, it had always been a dream to welcome the New Year at Kinjohro. However, I hesitated for a long time, feeling that such a prestigious and traditional ryokan might be beyond my reach. This year, I finally had the opportunity to visit Kanazawa with my son and fulfill this long-held dream. The elegant architecture, refined furnishings harmonizing sophistication and grace, exquisite Kutani ware and Kaga Yuzen kimonos—everything exuded timeless beauty. The traditional Kaga cuisine featuring local specialties like yellowtail fish, crab, duck dishes such as kamo-jibu stew prepared with care using authentic ingredients—and even the osechi New Year’s feast—were simply exceptional. The room and bath filled with the soothing scent of cypress wood added to an unforgettable experience. Above all else was the heartfelt hospitality provided by staff who embody over 130 years of tradition in this historic city of Kanazawa. It felt as though we were transported back in time to experience the grandeur of Kaga Hyakumangoku culture. On New Year's morning after enjoying osechi cuisine, we joined other guests along with the owner, proprietress (okami), head chef, staff members and their families for a mochi-pounding event at the entrance. The friendly atmosphere shared among everyone under glimpses of blue sky through clouds made it truly special—the taste of kinako-coated mochi will remain etched in our memories alongside our stay at Kinjohro. Thank you so much to everyone at Kinjohro! I look forward to experiencing more seasonal delights from Kanazawa’s rich culture through future visits here.

A stunning environment with remarkable architecture. Arriving early comes with a special privilege for the first guest of the day, as a charming male staff member guided us through an empty corridor, marking the beginning of a retreat that feels like floating in the forest. The meals were exceptional and truly moving. However, because this is such a perfect retreat accommodation, certain details stood out as unusual: The white chrysanthemums displayed at the restroom sink had turned brown and wilted, and despite being the first to use it that day, there was a mix of hair clumps and dust in one corner of the restroom stall. The flowers remained unchanged for two days, catching my eye multiple times—leaving me feeling disheartened on six occasions. While I didn’t notice any trash elsewhere during my stay, seeing those flowers untouched made me wonder about how cleaning by staff is managed here. Petals are generously used in your beautiful dishes; they were delightful to enjoy and deeply appreciated. However, it left an impression that perhaps no one among your staff noticed or cared for those small chrysanthemums at handwashing areas. I sincerely hope this can be improved upon—and I look forward to visiting again!

I stayed here while snow was gently falling. It was a huge help that they stored my luggage both before and after check-in. I stayed in Room 203. It’s a room with a balcony overlooking the garden. The room was very spacious, with a latest-model TV, a ReFa showerhead, a wide vanity, and a bathtub with a washing area. The toilet was fully automatic as well—everything was excellent. All amenities were MIKIMOTO. My hair usually feels rough when I use Hotel shampoo, but at this Accommodation it stayed smooth and silky. There is an guests-only lounge, and it was a lovely service that coffee, tea, and more were available freely until midnight. I also appreciated being able to take drinks back to my Room. I had coffee at check-in, and it matched my taste perfectly—really delicious. The breakfast I had been looking forward to was 100/100. I’ve eaten at luxury Hotels before, but this may have been the best I’ve ever had. Everything was wonderful, but what especially stood out were the yuzu-scented okara (unohana), fu dengaku, the white-dashi miso soup, and the dashimaki tamago (rolled omelet). When I mentioned it was my birthday this time, they decorated the guest room beautifully and even offered matcha—such thoughtful hospitality. All staff members were incredibly kind, with such a warm and homey atmosphere that made it easy to talk to them. Watching how warmly they treated other guests also made me feel happy. I think this is the best Accommodation—one that welcomes you warmly whether it’s for a special occasion or not. Next time I visit, I’ll come specifically to enjoy an unhurried Hotel stay. The open-air bath on the balcony felt absolutely wonderful. When I soaked in the hot water at dawn, I could hear Japanese bush warblers singing. Being able to look down over the dam lake was perfect for someone who loves high places. The meals were also very delicious, but it would have been even better if there had been a dry white wine option. Next time, I’d like to come again during cherry blossom season. Thank you very much.

This was my third visit to Itoshima, the first in two years. Last time, after heavy rain the day before, it suddenly turned into a midsummer day, and the breathtaking sunset—changing moment by moment against the vast ocean—was truly moving. I enjoyed delicious food and the relaxed pace that only an all-inclusive stay can offer. This time had a different atmosphere and some changes. Arriving in a downpour with luggage, I climbed the stone steps to check in. What surprised me right away was “10:00 checkout”! I never expected it to be an hour earlier—maybe a pitfall of being a repeat guest? I was told it was changed because lunch service starts at 11:00 with reservations… but 10:00 still feels far too early. Since we spend about four hours round trip for an overnight stay, we want to relax as much as possible. If possible, I hope you will consider setting check-in to 16:00 and returning checkout to 11:00—I would be glad if this request from repeat guests reaches you. This time we dined while watching the post-rain evening scenery, and the food was just as delicious as ever—I was very satisfied. The soup course in particular had wonderful Japanese dashi flavor and was deeply comforting, and the tempura made from fresh squid (prepared after sashimi) was especially appreciated; as someone who loves cooking at home, having a professional fry dishes is a real treat. It was also disappointing not to see any of the staff members from previous visits. The photo shows “Itoshima Bay—an evening view after the rain.”

Although it was a self-service stay in a traditional hot-spring therapy style, the host/manager provided very courteous service and clear explanations, so I felt at ease throughout my stay. In the Room, there was what seemed to be a protective mat for placing luggage (likely to prevent dirt from suitcase wheels), and an extension cord was thoughtfully placed by the bedside—small touches that really impressed me. The yukata selection included many sizes, so each of us could choose one that fit perfectly. I booked a no-meals Plan, but I had no dinner plans, and I was told nearby restaurants could deliver to the Room. Since it was hot outside and I didn’t feel like going out to eat, I really appreciated that (haha). The bath was nicely hot and felt great. I think it helped boost my immunity. Because of the timing, I didn’t run into other guests, so I could bathe comfortably without worrying about anything. Despite the reasonable rate, I truly felt their wholehearted hospitality and was very satisfied. I’d love to stay again next time.

As one of the most established Hotels in Tamatsukuri Onsen, it was sure to be a solid choice, and I was especially pleased with the excellent breakfast buffet. There was a great selection of seafood, and I also enjoyed the shijimi clam miso soup; if you prefer, you can also choose Western-style options, salads, and cornflakes. The view overlooks Lake Shinji, though the bridge structure of the San’in Expressway is hard to ignore.

Staying at a ryokan located within a temple's grounds was a first for me, and I was quite excited. The facility is old, but the bath was newly renovated and very comfortable to use. Above all, the meals were delicious. The variety of dishes, even though it was traditional vegetarian cuisine, never felt monotonous. It was truly wonderful. If it were closer, I would love to visit again just for the meals. Such a delightful accommodation.

It was my first time staying at this accommodation, and it was a wonderful experience. The vegetarian cuisine was very delicious, including the kenchin soup and sesame tofu, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The private bath system allowed me to relax without any concerns. The morning service the next day was explained in detail by the guide, allowing me to learn a lot. I also had a chance to try zazen meditation upon prior request, and as a beginner, the head priest kindly guided me through it. I would love to stay here again when visiting Zenkoji Temple.

Perhaps because it’s tucked away down a narrow alley, it was surprisingly quiet. The Room is very compact and truly relaxing. The bathroom and fixtures were spotless. All the light switches were conveniently grouped by the pillow, which made them easy to use. I write from time to time, and I felt I could really make progress here. Next time, I’d love to stay in and get some work done. For breakfast, I took a 20-minute walk and enjoyed a Japanese-style breakfast at their affiliated “THE MACHIYA LOUNGE.” I was able to go without a Reservation. (The photo shows the Japanese breakfast at “THE MACHIYA LOUNGE.”) The beautifully arranged small dishes were outstanding, and I really got to experience the charm of a machiya townhouse. All of the staff were very kind. I highly recommend this place as well. In the end, I left something behind at the Hotel and only noticed after checkout, but they handled it with great care and courtesy. Thank you very much. I would definitely like to stay again.

With its historic ambiance, carefully prepared meals, and relaxing moments spent gazing out at the garden, it was a truly soothing stay.
