My long-held wish to visit Mount Koya finally came true for the first time, and thanks to being able to stay at Ekoin, it became an even more memorable experience. Starting with Ajikan meditation, I was able to do everything I had hoped for—sutra copying, morning prayers, the Goma fire ritual, and shojin ryori—making these two days truly precious. Thank you very much.

This was my first stay here. The Room was beautifully designed and very comfortable. The open-air bath, a rock bath kept at the perfect temperature, felt wonderful at any time, and there was also a reclining bath where I could truly relax. The Japanese garden was also stunning and helped me forget the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The meals used plenty of local ingredients and were delicious. All staff provided very courteous service, and I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

I stayed here while snow was gently falling. It was a huge help that they stored my luggage both before and after check-in. I stayed in Room 203. It’s a room with a balcony overlooking the garden. The room was very spacious, with a latest-model TV, a ReFa showerhead, a wide vanity, and a bathtub with a washing area. The toilet was fully automatic as well—everything was excellent. All amenities were MIKIMOTO. My hair usually feels rough when I use Hotel shampoo, but at this Accommodation it stayed smooth and silky. There is an guests-only lounge, and it was a lovely service that coffee, tea, and more were available freely until midnight. I also appreciated being able to take drinks back to my Room. I had coffee at check-in, and it matched my taste perfectly—really delicious. The breakfast I had been looking forward to was 100/100. I’ve eaten at luxury Hotels before, but this may have been the best I’ve ever had. Everything was wonderful, but what especially stood out were the yuzu-scented okara (unohana), fu dengaku, the white-dashi miso soup, and the dashimaki tamago (rolled omelet). When I mentioned it was my birthday this time, they decorated the guest room beautifully and even offered matcha—such thoughtful hospitality. All staff members were incredibly kind, with such a warm and homey atmosphere that made it easy to talk to them. Watching how warmly they treated other guests also made me feel happy. I think this is the best Accommodation—one that welcomes you warmly whether it’s for a special occasion or not. Next time I visit, I’ll come specifically to enjoy an unhurried Hotel stay. Our whole family stayed here, and it was an outstanding experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff’s warm welcome was wonderful, and our daughters were in great spirits the entire time. Because it’s a registered tangible cultural property, the building has a deep sense of character. Yet with its modern interior, it didn’t feel intimidating at all—we could relax as if we were at home. The beautifully maintained garden was also ours to enjoy since there were no other guests during our stay, and the kids had a great time. I found myself wishing there were more Accommodations like this—Japan’s travel culture would be even richer. While we did feel welcomed by the town as a whole, it was a bit quiet, which was a shame. It’s such a great location that I hope it becomes more lively. We will definitely return again—thank you for everything, and we look forward to staying with you in the future.

We stayed here as a family. It was our first time staying on a remote island, but the owner welcomed us warmly from the moment we arrived, so we were able to start our stay with peace of mind. The seafood shabu-shabu we had for dinner was truly outstanding, and we were impressed by how fresh everything was. It felt like an island-only luxury. They also kindly recommended places to buy groceries and some cafés, which made our stay even more fulfilling. Rather than simply staying overnight, we were able to truly enjoy our time on the island and in Ushimado. This trip meant a lot to our family, and we’re grateful to have made such wonderful memories. We’d love to visit again in a different season.

Upon check-in, we were warmly welcomed with matcha tea, which was a touching gesture. For dinner, we chose the "Lord's Hospitality Cuisine," a unique experience recreating historical dishes from times when ingredients like sugar and soy sauce were not used. Each dish was carefully explained, making it an enjoyable and memorable dining experience. The next morning, we received a detailed tour of the cultural property and garden on-site. The staff kindly took photos for us and provided exceptional hospitality throughout our stay. It became a truly wonderful travel memory. Thank you very much!

The Room’s greatest highlight is the ocean view from the bath inside the guest room. In many places, the bathroom and Room are separate, but being able to step straight into the bath within the Room felt truly special and gave a wonderful sense of escape. There is also an outdoor sauna, making this stay feel far more unique than most other Facility options. Honestly, I didn’t expect that much at first, but having “my own private sauna” was even better than I imagined and left me feeling deeply refreshed in both body and mind. One small thing to note: because the sauna is outdoors, you need to pass across the balcony briefly. At that moment, you may occasionally make eye contact with people walking along the seaside, so it’s worth being a little mindful. Another personal favorite was the selection of books in the Room. It seems to vary by Room, which adds a small pleasure—wondering what kind of books will be there this time. There are no meals provided, but the extra-paid curry in the refrigerator was much better than expected and very satisfying. You can also purchase coffee beans and enjoy taking time to grind them and brew coffee—something I don’t usually do. Staying here wasn’t just about spending a night; it was time to engage thoughtfully with everyday acts like sleeping and eating. Because of its simple space, it naturally made me reflect on life itself—and what happiness means. It truly felt like a special place.

Thanks to the Diamond member benefit allowing us to stay until 1:00 PM, we were able to relax and take our time. The amenities and drinks were well stocked, and everything was comfortable with no inconvenience. The bath had strong water pressure and filled up quickly, which was a nice plus since there was no stress from waiting. Breakfast was delivered to our Room, so we could enjoy it slowly without worrying about others. However, it tended to cool down a bit over time, so better heat retention would make it even nicer. Also, the table in the Room was a little low, making it slightly difficult to eat comfortably. Those were the only minor points—overall, it offered great value for money and we were very satisfied with our stay. We would definitely like to use it again.

When we ordered extra squid, the Yobuko squid was truly delicious.

It was a truly wonderful Hotel. Not only the Onsen, but also the Room interior and the restaurant atmosphere blended Japanese elements with a touch of elegance, and we thoroughly enjoyed the luxurious setting. During our stay, we needed to visit a hospital, and the staff kindly found one for us and promptly arranged a taxi, which was a great help. Thank you very much. We would love to stay again.

The stay was stress-free as always. There was no crowd at the reception during check-in or check-out, and we rarely encountered other guests in the elevator. As a family with children, choosing a Hotel with fewer points to worry about is important for us. Thank you for providing champagne and organic orange juice in the refrigerator. The access was excellent since there was an event at Tokyo Dome again. We look forward to staying here next time as well!

Simple yet comfortable rooms, many of which have separate bathrooms and washbasins. Although there are no windows, the lighting creates a relaxing atmosphere. There is also a space on the floor where you can enjoy tea and unwind. Breakfast is served in two shifts, starting at 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM, with each shift lasting 30 minutes, which was surprising. It would have been helpful if this detail was clearly explained during the Reservation process. However, since there seemed to be plenty of seating available, we were not rushed even after the designated time had passed. Still, it made for a slightly hurried morning. The location is excellent with many tourist attractions and restaurants within walking distance.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Miyama with our family of four! The meals were delicious, and the open-air bath was comfortable and relaxing. The hosts were very kind, and we were able to enjoy a comfortable stay. The space was lovely, and we especially loved the charming kitchen. Thank you very much!

During our mother-and-daughter trip to Kyoto to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday, we had the pleasure of staying here. Although I have visited Kyoto many times, I wasn’t very familiar with this area and felt a bit uneasy at first. However, walking along the Shirakawa River lined with graceful willow trees was wonderfully soothing and brought me a deep sense of calm. The Accommodation blends quietly into the neighborhood, and from the lobby to the Room, everything is unified in a simple modern Japanese style—clean, uncluttered, and extremely comfortable. Perhaps each Room is decorated to match its name; in our Room called “Hotarubi,” there were firefly motifs on the wall, which felt beautifully tasteful. We stayed in a Superior Twin Room, and it was very spacious. The toilet area, bath/vanity area, and living space were all separated by partitions, creating a relaxed and luxurious layout—one of my favorite points. What my mother loved most was the generously sized hinoki cypress bath. She found the scent so calming that she enjoyed it two or three times. We were also deeply touched by your thoughtful 80th birthday message and bouquet. To everyone at Accommodation Akekure who welcomed us with warm hospitality from check-in to check-out: thank you for such a wonderful stay. Hearing my usually reserved mother say “I want to stay here again” made me truly happy as well. We would love to visit again!

The Room was clean, spacious, and the sunken kotatsu table made it wonderful. The amenities were also well stocked. The bath had a soothing hinoki scent and was very relaxing. The pet rules were not overly strict, so we could spend time freely in the Room, and our pet felt at ease as if at home. The meals were also very delicious. It was a very satisfying trip, and we would like to stay again.

It was my first time back in Ginzan Onsen in a while, and once again we stayed at Fujiya. The building’s exterior is striking, and the nostalgic view of the Onsen town from the window was just as wonderful as before. The staff were excellent—polite and attentive—and we had a truly enjoyable stay. I would definitely like to stay at Fujiya again for a third visit.

The cozy size of the Accommodation felt very comfortable, and the staff were wonderful—it was a place where we could truly relax. Kurumi had no other guest Rooms on the same floor, and the library next door felt like an extension of our own Room, which made it feel like a great bonus (lol). The location was also convenient for visiting Kiyomizu-dera before breakfast and coming back easily. Breakfast was delicious as well. Thank you very much for a lovely stay.

This was my second visit, and the meals were still delicious. The Onsen was clean, and I could relax and enjoy it at my own pace.

This is my second visit. (In my previous Review, I mistakenly called it a Business Hotel, but it’s actually a lifestyle hotel. My apologies!) I think it’s a wonderful Hotel for close mother-and-daughter trips, girlfriends traveling together, or even solo stays. The location is also very convenient—right by Marutamachi Station near the Kyoto Imperial Palace. The bathroom area is clean and easy to use, and I really enjoyed soaking in the large bathtub with the lighting dimmed. In the spacious, quiet lounge, you can enjoy carefully selected books while sipping detox water or tea. I’d love to come back again just for this lounge. With reasonable prices, it’s easy to use for many purposes—Multiple Night Stay as a sightseeing base or a quiet reading getaway—so I especially recommend this Hotel for women travelers.

We had a wonderful two-day stay and were extremely satisfied with the impeccable hospitality of all the staff. The meals prepared by the Kyoto chef, both breakfast and dinner, were exceptionally delicious and left us deeply impressed. My wife, who is from Kansai, loved the morning white miso soup so much that she wanted seconds, so I shared mine with her. The unlimited rice and raw eggs were also greatly appreciated. The three of us are already talking about visiting again this summer!
