From June 28 to 30, just after the typhoon and the end of the rainy season, we were able to arrive in Miyako safely and this was our second stay at Ferris. We were upgraded to a twin-bed Room for our family of three, and it also happened to be my wife’s birthday. The cake and bed decorations were wonderful surprises, making our first trip back to Miyakojima in two years truly memorable. Thank you very much to all the staff. Coming back from snorkeling and slipping straight into the private pool in our Room felt amazing—we could have stayed in forever while looking out at the mangroves. We enjoyed San’s shabu-shabu in our Room, and everything was delicious right down to the soba at the end. Next time, we’d love to try lunch as well! We look forward to staying with you again.

We visited again this summer vacation at everyone’s request. The Room was spacious, there was a dome, and even a pool—and the kids could get excited without being scolded (haha). There were massage chairs, and every Room had a TV where we could watch YouTube and more. They also prepared plenty of delicious coffee for us. We enjoyed an amazing feast until we were completely full, plus a surprise cake. The yokai quiz, late-night udon, running around on the lawn, and taking a bath while looking at countless stars and a beautiful moon—there’s nowhere else this close by where both adults and children can be so satisfied! We were also happy that everyone remembered our favorite staff member we see every year. We were told it was their day off and said how disappointing that was—then they surprised us by coming to greet us the next morning before we left. The kids were thrilled to hand over the letters they brought and to chat together! Thanks to your warm hospitality, we made wonderful summer vacation memories again this year. Thank you very much.

I stayed here for a concert trip this time. Because of the concert end time and traffic, I didn’t arrive until 9:00 PM, and I ended up getting to dinner very late, but you welcomed me with a smile and I had a wonderful time. Breakfast was also delicious, and since I had some time before checkout, I was able to take a walk in Kenrokuen Garden across the street. The location is excellent, and above all, every staff member was smiling and seemed genuinely happy—I would definitely like to stay here again the next time I visit Kanazawa. I love Yamagata’s Onsen and have visited many different places. I’ve been to almost all of Tendo, but the staff’s hospitality and the meals here were truly outstanding! The food was so delicious it ranks among the top one or two in Tendo!! We stayed in the annex, and it was perfect for us as a couple who prefer a quiet setting. Everything was very clean, and the gentle hot spring water in our Room felt just like Tendo—wonderful. This is an Accommodation I would definitely recommend. Thank you very much.

We traveled around Kumamoto by rental car with my spouse and our two sons, and stayed at Soan in two Rooms. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. The staff were kind and attentive, which made us feel truly welcome. The Onsen water quality was excellent, and we felt deeply relaxed after bathing. The Rooms were clean and comfortable, making this Accommodation a great choice for a family trip. I highly recommend it, and would love to stay again if we have the chance.

We visited with my son’s family. Traveling with our 8-month-old baby, we had some concerns, but even though we made Reservations for two Rooms on different dates, the staff kindly arranged for us to dine together and showed thoughtful care in many situations, which made our stay truly enjoyable. Thank you very much—it became a wonderful memory. My son’s family also said they would like to come again, and we hope to visit again as well.

We felt the thoughtful attention in our Room and at the restaurant, and my wife and I were able to enjoy a wonderful birthday. The Facility had the charm of a classic Hotel while offering the comfort of a Resort Hotel, and we thoroughly enjoyed the Onsen at Atagokan. If we have another chance to visit Karuizawa, we would love to stay again.

My first time at Zao Onsen. I love sulfur springs, and I thoroughly enjoyed both the indoor bath and the open-air bath. It was lightly raining, but they had a hat-like cover (like what Jizo statues wear) available so my head wouldn’t get wet. Thanks to that, I was able to relax in the open-air bath as well.\nThe meals were also excellent—Yamagata beef and all the other dishes were delicious. The rice was Tsuyahime, making for a high-quality dinner with local ingredients.\nThanks to the staff’s warm smiles and attentive service, I had a wonderful time.

Both the building and the interior have a wonderful charm, and the attentive service makes this Accommodation truly exceptional. The dishes made with local ingredients were beautifully presented and delicious. The watercress was fresh with just a hint of bitterness, completely changing my impression of it. If I have the chance, I would definitely like to visit again.

I still couldn’t forget the wonderful impression from our previous stay, so we chose to stay again on this special occasion—our family member’s birthday. During our stay, the Hotel surprised us with a birthday cake, and we were truly touched by their thoughtful gesture. Inside the property, we enjoyed strolling through the historic Kasuien and the beautifully maintained gardens, spending a relaxing time while feeling its long history and charm. Throughout the Hotel, you can sense the dignity and elegance that comes from being loved by many notable figures and historical personalities. For dinner, at my son’s request we had teppanyaki; not only was the food excellent, but the attentive hospitality made it a memorable experience. The spacious, comfortable Room and the soothing Onsen were also wonderful, allowing us to unwind and forget about everyday life. Thanks to the warm hospitality of all the staff, it became an irreplaceable birthday. We sincerely appreciate everything. We would love to stay again when we visit Kyoto.

I felt a little uneasy on the way up into the mountains, but once we arrived it was a truly wonderful space—like an adults-only hideaway—and the staff were very kind and made us feel comfortable. The complimentary drinks were exceptionally well provided, and the meals were beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We had a thoroughly satisfying stay.

Since guests remove their shoes at the entrance, the floors throughout the property are very clean. You can choose your preferred brands of shampoo, conditioner, face wash, etc., select from pillows of various heights and firmness levels, and there is a wide range of samue loungewear sizes. You can also take your favorite drinks—from alcohol to soft drinks—back to your Room. The Room layout is very practical, and no matter where I wiped with an alcohol wipe, there was absolutely no dirt. It was very comfortable. The bath had shower heads such as ReFa and Mirable. If there were more dinner menu options, it would be perfect.

The entire Accommodation is covered with tatami mats, making it exceptionally comfortable and relaxing. Some staff members speak English and Chinese, and they always greeted us with a smile while kindly explaining the Facility. The staff in charge of our meals were also very attentive and even helped us crack the crab. What impressed us most was that they remembered our faces and Room number right after check-in. At check-out, they promptly prepared our shoes and luggage. The meals were luxurious and delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed high-quality seafood (crab) as well as beef. This time we chose two options—sukiyaki and shabu-shabu. Shabu-shabu is a bit more expensive, but it is well worth the price. The Onsen facilities were excellent: in addition to the indoor bath, the open-air area had a hot bath, a cold bath, and even a sauna—perfect. We were also happy that the hair dryer was ReFa! The post-bath lounge (relaxation area) offered various drinks, light snacks, and massage chairs. Personally, I think this is an outstanding Accommodation that rivals Hoshino Resorts KAI. While the building itself feels slightly dated, I found the quality of the cuisine to be far superior to Hoshino Resorts. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

We stayed in Building D, which is pet-friendly. Everything was spotless and very comfortable. There’s honestly nothing to criticize, so here are a few tips to help you enjoy your stay even more. Jacuzzi / Open-air bath / Pool: 　Bringing a swimsuit is recommended. Stink bugs (currently a large outbreak): 　It’s helpful to bring sticky tape for removal. Bakery: 　There’s a great bakery nearby. Amenities: 　High-quality POLA amenities are provided, so you only need to bring the basics. To fully enjoy it: 　You’ll probably want to stay two nights. Appliances: 　Most appliances are available, but there doesn’t seem to be an air fryer (probably). Shirarahama Beach: 　It’s just under 2 km away—slightly far. Dogs aren’t allowed on Shirarahama Beach, which is disappointing, but the beauty of the beach is amazing.

The Accommodation, the staff, the meals, and the Onsen were all outstanding. The meat and eggs in particular were unforgettable. If I visit Yufuin again, I will definitely stay here!

We were very satisfied with both the Facility and the meals. In particular, we were truly impressed by the wonderful thoughtfulness of all the staff—those at the front desk, those who served our meals, those who saw us off at the entrance, and those who kept the property clean. I stayed here at the end of my trip to Hokkaido. The places I stayed before were wonderful as well, but this Tokachigawa Onsen Daiichi Hotel was outstanding. Every dish at the buffet was delicious. I wanted to try more, but I got full and couldn’t eat everything, which I still regret a little. The kamameshi rice was especially good, and the meat was excellent too—in fact, everything I tried tasted great. When I went to the Onsen early in the morning (just after 5 a.m.), I saw staff baking bread. I had some at breakfast, and it was also very tasty. The moor Onsen had a gentle natural scent and a wonderfully silky feel on the skin; one night wasn’t enough. This time I couldn’t take my time sightseeing around Tokachi, so I would love to come back again next year. More than anything, what left me with such a great impression of the Hotel was an employee at the souvenir shop “Tamatebako.” The trainee wearing a training name badge had an amazing smile and provided excellent service. When I told them how pleasant they were, they responded with another lovely smile. Of course it comes down to personal qualities as well, but it also made me feel that the Hotel’s management philosophy must be excellent for staff like this to grow here. All of the other staff were wonderful too, and it reminded me that not only the Onsen and food but also people’s hospitality is what truly shapes a trip. Thank you for helping me make such great memories—I would like to stay again next year as well.

My family and I stayed here the day before our Kamikochi sightseeing trip. The young proprietress was very friendly and easy to talk to, and her unpretentious, thoughtful hospitality was truly comfortable. The open-air bath in our Room felt amazing—I could have stayed in it forever. Dinner featuring Hida beef had so many dishes that we wondered if we could finish them all, but everything was delicious and we all ate every last bite. The beef tataki we received as a gift from the Accommodation was also outstanding! They also kindly helped us plan for the next day’s Kamikochi sightseeing, making our stay completely satisfying. We would definitely like to stay here again on our next trip to Kamikochi!

It was a wonderful Hotel where we could truly enjoy Lake Biwa. The Room offered a panoramic view of Lake Biwa and felt incredibly open and airy. The interior also had a luxurious touch, and we genuinely enjoyed simply spending time in the Room. All of the staff provided excellent service, proactively checking in with us, so we never had any trouble during our stay. The Onsen was especially memorable. The water quality was excellent, and the view of Lake Biwa from the open-air bath was exceptional. On the day we stayed, a crescent moon reflected on the lake’s surface, creating an enchanting scene. The amenities were also high quality. We were very satisfied with the all-inclusive lounge as well. With its high ceilings and spacious atmosphere, enjoying drinks freely while looking out over Lake Biwa was truly fantastic. Dinner featured an outstanding full-course Omi beef meal—so much so that it felt like great value for what you get. There was also a wide selection of drinks, and we were especially happy to see many local sake options available. They paired perfectly with the fresh ingredients. Breakfast was a buffet featuring locally sourced ingredients with plenty of variety. The restaurant had ample seating, so we could dine comfortably without waiting while enjoying views of Lake Biwa. If I had one request, it would be helpful to have a Plan without dinner as an option—this would make it easier for guests on a Multiple Night Stay to enjoy dining out for one evening. For that reason, we changed our stay from two nights to one night this time; however, after actually staying here, it was such an excellent Hotel that we regretted not booking a Multiple Night Stay. Next time, we would definitely like to stay for multiple nights.

At last, I made it to Hacienda Vison—somewhere I’d been wanting to visit for ages. As an interior lover, it had been on my list forever, but I never quite got around to it. This small Hotel has only six Rooms and is the first project designed under the direction of The Conran Shop in London, UK. I’ve always loved its mid-century feel and the way wood and natural materials are paired with black metal accents. “I want to see it.” With that feeling alone, one day I booked on impulse online. I took the first Shinkansen of the day to Taki Town in Mie Prefecture. The moment I stepped into the Room, “I want to live here.” That was all I could say. (Laughs) High ceilings, a kitchen included—everything from the furniture and lighting to the textures was exactly my taste. It felt like a space created by gathering every single thing I love into one Room. The minibar had two bottles of Acqua Panna, 100% Mie-grown satsuma mandarin juice (additive-free), Isekadoya Pale Ale, and more—all available complimentary. (Of course it’s probably included in the stay, but I can’t resist seeing “Help yourself.” (Laughs)) Even though it’s a new Hotel that opened in August 2024, they intentionally chose traditional keys instead of auto-locks. Carrying a key with a brass Room number while strolling around VISON felt like part of the Hotel’s world—such a lovely touch. Surrounded by mountains, you catch soft hints of earth and wood in the air. It reminded me of my grandmother’s house—and Hokuto City—and before I knew it, I took a deep breath. Apparently just seeing mountains and greenery instantly puts me in a better mood. (Laughs) After working up a sweat, it was time for a bath. Soaking while looking out at the garden greenery was incredibly relaxing, and the shampoo and body wash were from Bamford in England. I also loved their philosophy: “What you put on your skin is as important as what you eat.” Even down to the logo on the slippers—every detail was thoughtfully done. You can also step out into a small private garden from your Room; it felt like such an inviting space that I found myself thinking, “I want to have breakfast here tomorrow morning.” My work-filled mind during weekdays slowly quieted down just by gazing at the mountains, zoning out for a while, and taking baths. It reminded me that travel isn’t only about scenery or food—it’s about what kind of time you get to spend there. Next time, I’d love to stay in another Room too. It truly was a wonderful Hotel.
