The Room was clean, and we felt truly relaxed on the island. Since there was no return boat, you suggested a cruise on the first day instead, which got us excited from the start. The meals were delicious, and we were happy to enjoy plenty of drinks. We felt that one night wasn’t quite enough. The staff were also very kind.

It was a wonderful night. Dinner is served to just three parties at this inn with only three rooms. You might imagine a quiet, lonely atmosphere—but what filled the space was lively conversation. “It’s the Mid-Autumn Moon tonight, so we’ll dim the lights,” said the mother. When she opened the door, you could hear waves loud enough to rival any background music; beyond the terrace, moonlight shimmered on the sea, with fishing boats’ lights in the distance. On our table were various handmade dishes prepared by the whole family. Everyone moved cheerfully between kitchen and dining room, while happy conversations flowed among guests. The father’s Japanese cuisine—after training at a long-established sushi restaurant near Akebonobashi and running a sushi minshuku in Kamogawa with his wife for over 30 years—and French dishes from their son, who returned home after 11 years of training at Hotel New Otani. Even the porcini mushrooms were locally sourced. “Destination restaurant” may be today’s buzzword, but for me this place suits me better—and makes me want to come back more—than certain well-known spots deep in Toyama’s mountains or in Nirasaki. Reservations are easy to get, and it’s only a 90-minute drive from central Tokyo.

We stayed here for the first time during the autumn Silver Week for a Multiple Night Stay. Thanks to IKYU, we were able to discover this wonderful Hotel. The natural surroundings are beautiful, the architecture and interiors are excellent, the staff’s smiles are warm, and the dishes at the restaurant are beautifully presented—truly the best hidden retreat Hotel unique to Kumihama. Next time, I hope we can make a Reservation for spring Golden Week, so I plan to check IKYU’s site carefully. To everyone at Holiday Home, thank you very much for your kind hospitality.

We stayed with our child, and we truly appreciated the thoughtful attention to detail. They prepared futons for our child’s nap, and even provided a baby bouncer and a diaper trash bin, which made us feel comfortable and at ease throughout our stay. The meals were excellent, and we were very satisfied with both dinner and breakfast. We also loved that the soft drinks, beer, and other beverages stocked in the refrigerator were complimentary. Drinks were available after bathing as well, and we felt that every small service was well taken care of. All staff members were polite and attentive, making our stay pleasant from start to finish. This is a wonderful Ryokan where families with children can stay with peace of mind.

At first, the parking area felt a bit scary. There are wheel stops, but if you come in with too much speed, it feels like you could end up in the river. There were three private baths, all a good size. If they were available, we could use them as much as we wanted, and one of the private baths even had a sauna. Amenities are the type you take what you need to your Room, and there was a wide variety. After bathing, they also had ice cream and black soybean tea available. Since it’s all-inclusive, drinks were set out on both the 1st and 2nd floors, which was convenient. On the 2nd floor where the Rooms are, there were two massage chairs that we could use freely. Dinner was a white squid course; it wasn’t live squid so it wasn’t at its sweetest, but there was still sweetness—and for two people it was more than enough quantity (half might have been plenty). We came for nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), and we assumed one fish for two people, so we were surprised that each person got one. It was delicious. The Room was very clean, and the whole Ryokan smelled wonderful. Even though winter is crab season—and I expected everything to smell like crab—it felt very refined with a pleasant woody scent instead. There are no windows so don’t expect any views; however, the space with the sofa (with TV), bed, and washbasin area is very comfortable. The downside is that you can’t tell what the weather is like outside. But if you’re looking to enjoy an escape focused on eating and relaxing indoors, that may not be a bad thing. Breakfast was excellent across the board—the rice cooked in an earthenware pot was great, and so was the mirin-dried horse mackerel. On our way out we also tried grinding coffee with a stone mill for ourselves for once again enjoyed truly good coffee after a long time.

Unfortunately, it was pouring rain on the day of our stay, but we were happy that you welcomed us with umbrellas upon arrival. We thought the ocean view from the Room must be beautiful on a clear day. There were several types of Onsen, and we enjoyed them privately, which was great. The meals were also delicious, and we would love to visit again in a different season. We came with high expectations, and this Accommodation exceeded them even more than we imagined. We’ll be back!

I stayed with my elderly mother, my niece who had returned from abroad, and my daughter. They were very kind and attentive to foreign guests, and they accommodated our food requests exactly as asked. We are truly grateful. Unfortunately, it rained heavily both days so we couldn’t do much sightseeing, but Hakone Shrine was within walking distance for a stroll. The next day the roads were closed and it was quite difficult, but the staff informed us early in the morning, which helped a lot and became a good memory for my nieces as well. I would definitely like to visit again.

This was our first trip with my daughter and her husband, our grandchild, and two dogs. The Room was very spacious, and our 2-year-old grandchild was thrilled—running around until bedtime. Our Room was on the second floor, and the area below seemed to be around the front desk, so we didn’t have to worry too much about noise for guests downstairs. It was also our dogs’ first overnight stay, so we were a bit anxious, but most guests on the same floor were traveling with dogs as well. We could hear barking here and there, which made it feel relaxed and heartwarming. Having meals served in the Room was wonderful. If I could make one request: dessert and soup were served at the same time during dinner, so I would appreciate it if the soup could be served first. The Onsen was excellent—I went in three times. A typhoon was approaching so unfortunately the weather wasn’t great, but when the rain stopped we took a walk with our dogs and grandchild. The Onsen town at night had a lovely atmosphere and was really nice. All of the staff were friendly and spoke kindly to both our grandchild and our dogs—we truly felt their warmth. It was a very enjoyable Accommodation that left us with lasting memories. P.S.: The Room had everything prepared, including a crate, pet sheets/pads, a lint roller (sticky roller), deodorizer spray, and more.

I had such a wonderful impression when I stayed here before that this is my second visit. From the welcome sweets to the Japanese-Western fusion dinner and the hearty breakfast, everything was delicious. All meals were brought to our Room, so there was no need to change clothes, and we could relax completely. I also appreciated that when I informed them in advance about ingredients I can’t eat, they accommodated me properly. During our 3-day/2-night stay, all of the staff took great care of us. I had the chance to speak with five staff members, and every one of them provided excellent service! They were polite and warm, and I truly felt well looked after. The only thing I noticed was that the shower drainage was a little slow. Even so, overall it was a lovely Accommodation where we felt very comfortable. Taking an open-air bath early in the morning while listening to bush warblers singing was an unforgettable experience. I’d love to visit again in a different season.

It was a wonderful stay. Thank you for your thoughtful hospitality. Even though the weather wasn’t great, we could still enjoy the garden and a hint of autumn foliage, and relax at a leisurely pace surrounded by lush greenery. The meals were delicious, the Onsen was very comfortable, and it made us wish we could stay for two or three days. If we have the chance, we would love to visit again.

It was rare for our whole family to be together, so we decided to stay on short notice. After check-in, we headed to our Room with a complimentary drink from the lobby (non-alcoholic) in hand. The Room was more spacious than expected, well stocked with amenities, and the view was wonderful. The bedside light brightness can’t be adjusted, but it wasn’t an issue. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style with a wide variety of dishes. The freshly grilled Wagyu steak made to order was delicious, but the best was the made-to-order tempura where you can choose the ingredients to be fried. There were also many types of all-you-can-drink alcohol options, which we enjoyed. For breakfast, you can choose the fillings for your omelet, and there were plenty of both Japanese and Western options as well. Towels were provided at the large public bath, and the free ice cream after bathing was great too! All staff provided polite service—especially the restaurant staff, who spoke gently and kindly—and it felt like they paid close attention to guests. After checkout, my daughter was touched by a woman who greeted us cheerfully at the car drop-off area and waved both hands as she saw us off until we left; it made for a very pleasant departure from the Hotel and a wonderful stay overall.

A quiet, adults-only Accommodation. With only a few Rooms, the large public bath felt almost private, and I was able to relax at my own pace. As this Accommodation is known for its cuisine, every dish was carefully prepared, and I enjoyed everything from appetizers to dessert. The rice was also delicious—I couldn’t help having seconds. The proprietress and everyone else were so kind that even traveling alone felt soothing. I’d love to visit again.

The Room was a beautifully renovated guest room with an open-air bath, and I was happy to be able to relax and enjoy the Onsen in the Room as well. The staff were very courteous, and we had a comfortable stay. Dinner was delicious, featuring mainly seafood. We also really enjoyed watching the explanation and live demonstration of Oga Peninsula’s specialty stone-grilled dish. Breakfast was a buffet, and everything was tasty—we were completely full. It was a bit of a long trip, but we made wonderful memories. Thank you very much.

As our daughter reached the age for her Coming-of-Age celebration, we stayed here as a family of four to mark the occasion. From the very beginning, we were impressed by the warm welcome and being served matcha tea and sweets. Although it’s close to Dogo Onsen, the property offers a beautiful, spacious, and tranquil atmosphere—truly a luxurious annex just as described. There are famous paintings and exquisite Lladró ornaments throughout, making every moment feel blissful! The Onsen was wonderful as well! We would love to visit again on another special occasion.

We stayed at “Iroukan” during the Obon holidays. Since we were traveling with our dog, we chose Iroukan based on Reviews while searching for a pet-friendly Accommodation. The hospitality exceeded our expectations—the warmth and smiles from every staff member were truly wonderful. Of course, the food was just as highly rated: incredibly delicious and very generous in portion size. From the moment we arrived at the Accommodation’s parking lot, the staff’s kindness and attentiveness stood out—helping with our luggage, welcoming us at the entrance, and even greeting us with a charmingly retro Showa-era style that surprised us in the best way. Everyone clearly loves dogs, and our dog also seemed completely at ease throughout our three-day stay. The Onsen was also fantastic, with free-flowing natural hot spring water and both indoor and open-air baths to enjoy. It’s hard to sum up in just a few words how memorable the service was—and even the head chef’s unique personality gave us a good laugh. The building has an old-fashioned feel that reflects its history, but it’s exactly what you’d hope for in a classic Ryokan—an excellent place where you can truly relax. There is so much more I’d love to share, but if you’re going to Izu, please stay at Iroukan at least once. It’s absolutely worth experiencing. If we have another chance, this is definitely an Accommodation we would love to stay at again.

I stayed here for a concert trip this time. Because of the concert end time and traffic, I didn’t arrive until 9:00 PM, and I ended up getting to dinner very late, but you welcomed me with a smile and I had a wonderful time. Breakfast was also delicious, and since I had some time before checkout, I was able to take a walk in Kenrokuen Garden across the street. The location is excellent, and above all, every staff member was smiling and seemed genuinely happy—I would definitely like to stay here again the next time I visit Kanazawa. Last summer, after renting a nearby vacation home and visiting Morito Beach, we discovered SCAPES THE SUITE. We made a Reservation because we were drawn to the easy beach access and the property’s atmosphere, and we had been looking forward to our stay. Thanks to you, we were able to enjoy the sea with our family, including our two young daughters. We used the pick-up and drop-off service from Zushi Station, and being greeted by a classic Cedric taxi instantly set a resort mood. We arrived a little early and planned to wait in the lobby, but perhaps because of my IKYU Diamond membership, we were shown to our Room right away. It was the twin “Mandarin Orange.” It felt more spacious than expected, with the Shonan sea right in front of us and Enoshima clearly visible at all times. Due to the weather we only caught a faint glimpse of Mt. Fuji for a moment, but having the ocean always in view was truly soothing. After the concierge kindly showed us around the Room, they helped arrange our one-hour private jacuzzi time (per Room) as well as breakfast time. We were worried about an approaching typhoon, but fortunately it took a course that didn’t affect us much—so we even enjoyed occasional sunshine. Our daughters’ family was able to swim several times, while we grandparents stayed in the Room caring for our 7-month-old grandchild. It was wonderfully relaxing. With children aged three and zero with us, we ate out for dinner; however, the Hotel restaurant also looked very appealing. This time we only had breakfast and lunch here, but next time we would love to try dinner as well. No matter where you look from within this property—the balcony or even from the jacuzzi—the view of the sea never gets old. That scenery itself felt like your greatest hospitality. We also strongly felt how much everyone working there loves Hayama—and loves this Hotel. The pride and care of both the concierge team and those serving at breakfast/the restaurant really came through. We were also delighted by your gift: Genbei’s famous beach sandals. You coordinated sizes and colors for each family member perfectly—our daughters’ family was thrilled. Finally, after receiving an outstanding carrot dressing as well, we headed home feeling refreshed. Not only in summer but in any season, SCAPES is a place where you can truly relax—and we would love to return again. Thank you very much to everyone at the Hotel.

I caused you a great deal of trouble, but everyone spoke to me so kindly that it truly helped me. The price is almost too low! The in-room lotion was my favorite brand, there were two sinks, and both dinner and breakfast were outstanding. It was a shame there was no view from the open-air bath, but I found myself hoping—thinking from the owner’s perspective—that your service will continue just as it is so you won’t lose guests until the construction is finished. Even without a view from the window, this is a wonderful Ryokan. Thank you very much for everything.

We stayed here for the first time with our dog to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. The welcome drink and dessert were very delicious! The welcome treat for dogs also seemed tasty—our pup finished it in no time! There’s also a drink bar available at certain times, which was great. They even have alcohol, which was the best!! The dog run was air-conditioned, so it was comfortable even in midsummer. Our dog ran around until completely tired out. Dinner is buffet-style, so it’s hard to decide what to eat (lol). The roast beef and sashimi served as a one-plate set at the table were amazing! Alcohol is available for an additional fee, but the food is so good you can’t help wanting a drink (lol). You can dine together with your dog, and there’s also a buffet just for dogs, so we really enjoyed the meal. Since it was our daughter’s birthday, we ordered a cake for an additional fee, and it was delicious as well! The staff celebrated with us too, and our daughter was thrilled! You can also use a private bath. We used it this time; we had 90 minutes, so we could relax without rushing. Dogs are allowed in the private bath too, which is wonderful! There were post-bath drinks and ice cream in the fridge—also fantastic! It’s well worth paying the extra fee! By the way, I also used the large public bath in the morning. The view was great, and it felt wonderful bathing while looking out over Lake Hamana! The breakfast sandwiches were filling and very tasty! They come with pudding too—again, amazing! One of the reasons this Hotel felt so good is definitely how pleasant all of the staff are!! Everyone we met was smiling; they talked to our dog and played with him too. Our pup got lots of love! If I had to mention something negative: although parts have been renovated, there were some areas where you could feel that the building itself is old and showing its age. But personally, there were far more positives than anything else. How easy it is to stay with your dog here, how great the staff service is, how delicious the food is, how relaxing the baths are—we went home satisfied as a whole family! I’m glad we chose this Hotel for our first overnight trip with our dog. We’d love to stay again!!

I stayed for two nights when a typhoon approached Yakushima and brought record-breaking heavy rain. Unfortunately, due to the bad weather, I had to cancel most of my plans such as trekking, but thanks to how fulfilling my time at this Hotel was, it ended up being a memorable and wonderful trip overall. The Facility was very clean, and the staff were kind, attentive, and provided excellent service, so I was able to stay comfortably. The food was delicious—not only the buffet but also the dishes from the live kitchen—and there was a great variety that I really enjoyed. I hope to visit Yakushima again someday and make trekking happen next time, and when I do, I would love to stay here again.
