This was our first time staying here as a couple. We arrived using the navigation system, and headed toward the lights of the building on a small hill. The sunset was incredibly beautiful, and we were truly impressed by what a wonderful place it is. The meals were also delicious—both dinner and breakfast. The Room had a large bed, and we were able to relax comfortably. Thanks to you, our time in Nara became a wonderful memory, with both the Accommodation and the shrines and temples being outstanding. Thank you very much to all the Accommodation staff.

It rained heavily all day. Still, from the Room we watched the large courtyard pond, the rush of water running from the roof into the gutters, and droplets falling one by one from the pine needles. Since the bath in the Room also opens onto the courtyard, we were able to enjoy that atmosphere there as well.

The Room was clean, the breakfast was delicious, and the large public bath was great. However, since there was only one elevator, it got very crowded during peak check-in and check-out times, and we sometimes had to wait quite a while, which was a bit inconvenient. Also, the hallway was hot—I wish there had been air conditioning in the corridors as well. Still, considering the value for money, it’s an excellent Hotel! I’d love to stay here again when I visit Imabari.

I was amazed by the relaxed atmosphere of the Ryokan and the many delicious dishes—especially the abundance of fish—along with superb sake. The sunset and evening glow were incredibly beautiful and truly moving.

Due to work, I needed to park a truck about the length of a microbus. They allowed me to park in the space behind the Hotel. Before arriving, I called near the Hotel and they kindly gave me directions and waited for me at the entrance. Since it was a completely unfamiliar town, their attentive support made me feel at ease. It was a long trip from Niigata Prefecture, so I was relieved. When I asked because I couldn’t figure out how to operate the Room air conditioner, they explained it carefully. The Room is clean. Breakfast was delicious. At an affordable price, it’s a good Hotel where you can feel safe and rest comfortably.

The Ryokan is small but satisfying as a Facility. The Room was kept very clean, and for a twin it was spacious enough—no complaints. The bath was a little hot, though that depends on the person; the simple spring water had a light, refreshing feel. There is a gender swap, but I was surprised that the bath sizes differed. At check-in we were served matcha and sweets, but since there isn’t really a shop, I would have been happy if they had offered that day’s tea sweets as a small souvenir to take home. We had both dinner and breakfast and were very satisfied with the food, and the service was good. The locally grown rice in particular was delicious. If I go to Matsue again, I’d like to stay here again and would recommend this Accommodation to others.

The moment I entered the Room, I was soothed by the aroma of tea incense—Kirishima tea truly lives up to its reputation. The hot springs, a local specialty, are in an open-air bath just outside the in-room bath. The sulfur spring left my skin silky smooth—I was very satisfied. They kindly adjusted the meals to accommodate ingredients I don’t like, and everything was delicious. I was also impressed by the staff’s thoughtful hospitality. It was a highly satisfying one-night, two-day trip. This is an Accommodation I would definitely like to visit again.

This was my first time visiting Zao Onsen. After considering several Onsen Accommodations, I chose a smaller Accommodation where I could truly relax. As I headed from Kaminoyama toward Zao, the temperature dropped, and after riding my motorcycle in the intense heat, the cool breeze felt wonderful. The Accommodation is an older building, but it was filled with many charming decorations that made me feel warm inside. The indoor Onsen was artificial, but it was pleasant and available 24 hours a day. Outside, in a separate building, there was a free-flowing hot spring bath fed directly from the source; it was strongly acidic and at a comfortable temperature, making it very enjoyable. Dinner dishes were all carefully prepared and included many local specialties from Yamagata Prefecture. It was great that each dish came with an explanation when served. The steamed dish in particular was outstanding. Breakfast also offered a wide variety of items, and I was very satisfied. All of the staff were kind and greeted us properly—I could really feel their hospitality. This is an Accommodation I would like to visit again.

Kirishima truly feels like Japan’s hometown. It was a warmly welcoming, deeply comfortable inn—something that resonates all the more because I’m Japanese. It was my first stay, yet I spent such a fulfilling time that I already didn’t want to leave. There were also guests who seemed like seasoned solo travelers, and the atmosphere is one where everyone quietly appreciates the moment without overstepping—maintaining a pleasantly respectful distance. The inn cherishes an authentic sense of Japanese calm, making it a relaxing, adult-oriented space where you can truly unwind. Every dish was delicious, and the carefully prepared specialties—including their signature apple gratin—never became tiring even over multiple nights. The house wine is high quality, and it’s also a treat to enjoy pairings with drinks such as “Nanshuo,” a sake associated with Saigo Takamori. The hot springs are private-bath style, with an excellent system that lets you see availability at a glance. This trip was also meant to help heal my knee injury, and the indoor bath in particular had wonderful temperature and water quality—it soaked gently into my body. (For families with small children, the outdoor bath with its milder temperature may be more comfortable.) In this spiritually charged townscape where steam rises from all around, instead of rushing through sightseeing I was able to spend peaceful time quietly visiting Kirishima Shrine. In addition to being about 40 minutes by bus from Kagoshima Airport, it’s conveniently located right by the bus stop. With an adjacent tourist market and a convenience store just a 1-minute walk away, practicality is excellent as well. Wi-Fi works smoothly throughout the property, making it suitable for a workation stay too. A highly recommended onsen ryokan for anyone who loves tranquility, exceptional hot springs, and great food.

We recently stayed at Third with two dogs (a small dog and a medium-sized dog) and four adults. The Room was spacious enough, the garden was large enough for the dogs to run around, and while the pool is a bit small, it was still plenty big for four adults. The meals were more than generous and very satisfying. There were plenty of tableware and cooking utensils, which we appreciated. We were also happy to find pet pads as well as bowls for food and water. Everything was clean and well maintained, so we were satisfied with almost everything. If I had to mention one thing, the furniture—such as the sofa in the living room and the chairs in the garden—felt a bit inexpensive, which made it harder to fully relax. I hope this area can be improved. Overall, we were very satisfied. There are many similar Facility options, but many still have restrictions such as requiring dogs to stay in crates; this is a truly dog-friendly Facility. The price is a little high, but it feels worth more than that value-wise. We would definitely like to stay again if we have the chance. Thank you very much.

This was our family’s first trip to Amakusa, Kumamoto, and we stayed here. We had been looking forward to it even before we arrived, and the Accommodation was even more stylish than we expected—everywhere we went, we could feel the great sense of design. The Room was very clean, and the view from the villa was amazing. There were activities to enjoy both indoors and outdoors, and our child had a wonderful time. We rented a BBQ set, and everything was provided—so it was incredibly convenient to just bring our own ingredients and enjoy. The older male staff member at reception was very friendly and kind, and we also enjoyed hearing various stories from him. Unfortunately he wasn’t there when we checked out, so we couldn’t thank him in person, which was a real shame—but we’d love to make another opportunity to visit Amakusa and stay again. There is nothing around the Accommodation, so it’s very quiet; we could also enjoy a sky full of stars, making for an extremely relaxing time. Since there isn’t anywhere within shopping distance from the Accommodation, it might be even more comfortable if reception offered some snacks or if light meals were available at a café or restaurant—but overall it truly was a completely satisfying stay and an unforgettable place. We usually stay at Anda Resort, but as our son has turned one and can do more activities, we discovered Anda no Ouchi. The Room was great, and the Facility services were excellent as well. We’re truly glad we stayed here. The meals also offered a wide variety of kid-friendly options, which we really appreciated. The private baths were easy to check for availability, so we felt comfortable even with a child. Staying at Anda has become an annual tradition for us, and we’re looking forward to staying again.

The moment I stepped into the inn, a wonderful fragrance greeted me and I felt excited right away. With large windows and plenty of greenery, it’s a lovely space. The room was very clean, and because there are no partitions, it felt even more spacious than expected. I have many dietary restrictions and there are items I can’t eat in kaiseki cuisine, but they were very accommodating, so I was able to enjoy everything deliciously until the end. I also enjoyed the hot springs many times, which helped melt away my daily fatigue. Thank you very much.

We stayed here last year and had such a wonderful time that we definitely wanted to come back. This year, we chose our travel destination mainly because we wanted to stay at this Accommodation again, and it did not disappoint. Our Room had an indoor bath, but the open-air bath was so relaxing that we never even found time to use the indoor one (laughs). This is truly an Accommodation we want to return to again. The room was clean, and it was a lovely property where I could relax and truly enjoy my stay. Dinner was very filling, and I was extremely satisfied. After dinner, there was an event where complimentary sake was served, so I enjoyed comparing different varieties. It was scary when three large centipedes appeared one after another at night, but when I called the front desk they responded immediately, which made me feel reassured. All of the staff were kind and had wonderful smiles, making this a truly enjoyable trip. I also enjoyed the large public bath, the in-room bath, and the courtyard garden—staying here was fantastic. As on my previous stay, I was delighted to find this place so comfortable and welcoming. I thoroughly enjoyed both dinner and breakfast, and my overall satisfaction increased even more. Despite the long spell of autumn rain, we were blessed with sunshine and were able to relax while taking in the view from our room—blue skies with white clouds, the sea and horizon—and being soothed by the sound of the waves. The hot springs left my skin smooth and moisturized and warmed me through to the core, and the rooftop open-air bath was amazing with beautiful stars overhead. The food was delicious as well. With a focus on local vegetables, fish, and carefully selected ingredients, every homemade dish was wonderful. It even made me ask if you serve lunch too… but you don’t (which is understandable), so that’s a shame. All the more reason to come back! While parts of the building do show their age, it has been renovated beautifully; using single-slab wood pieces and driftwood throughout gave it a retro, calming atmosphere with great attention to detail. In every way, this was an outstanding place to stay. I will definitely return. Thank you very much.

I had only known Hotel Okura Kobe, but since this was my first trip to Hakata, I chose Hotel Okura Fukuoka. The service and housekeeping were excellent, and access from the Shinkansen station was easy to understand and very convenient. As someone unfamiliar with the area, I truly appreciate the female staff member who kindly showed me on a map where to find delicious ramen and answered my questions with a smile. It immediately put me at ease, and I felt glad I made this Reservation. I couldn’t stop by the basement brewery due to time constraints, but a male staff member also kindly informed me that I could buy beer at the shop. Having stayed at inexpensive Business Hotels near stations before, I was reminded how valuable local tips and guidance gained through genuine conversation can be—and how they become part of your travel memories. To everyone at Hotel Okura Fukuoka, thank you for giving me such wonderful memories.

We had some unexpected free time and stayed here as a couple. This is our third visit, as it’s an Accommodation where you can relax in luxury. The Room, service, and Onsen were consistently satisfying as always, but the cuisine felt like it had reached a new level. Not only was everything delicious, each course brought surprise after surprise. Nothing—even the dessert—felt ordinary, and we were truly delighted. Perhaps due to the impact of the Kumamoto earthquakes, it seems a bit easier to make a Reservation right now. We’d love to return again.

On a business trip to Akita, I was driving from Tokyo and wanted to stay one night around the halfway point, so I chose Oyado Mori no Ne. What stood out first was how bright and spotless the property felt. The entrance was beautifully maintained and open, and there was a relaxing lounge area with a fireplace, so I felt at ease from the moment I arrived. Check-in wasn’t just a quick procedure at the front desk; I was guided while seated on a sofa, which left me with a strong impression of thoughtful hospitality. The room was more spacious than expected, with a great view from the window. After a long drive, having such a comfortable space to unwind in was truly appreciated. The hot spring bath was also excellent. By chance there were no other guests when I went in, so I could enjoy the large bath all to myself. The water felt relatively light, yet my skin felt smooth afterward—an extremely pleasant onsen experience. The highlight for me was the food. Although it’s a ryokan, dinner wasn’t the typical traditional kaiseki; it incorporated Western elements as well. The presentation was beautiful and enjoyable to look at, and every dish tasted wonderful too. You could really tell everything had been prepared with care, making it an exceptionally satisfying meal. I booked through Ikkyu.com and received one bottle of wine as a member benefit. Being able to enjoy it with dinner meant there was no need to order additional alcohol, which felt like an extra bonus. I originally chose this place simply as an overnight stop on my long drive from Tokyo to Akita, but it turned out to be much more than that—a stay worth enjoying in its own right. From the atmosphere and rooms to the hot spring baths, meals, and service, everything exceeded expectations. I would gladly stay again if given the chance.
