While the Hotel is undeniably old, the quality is very satisfying.

My spouse and I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay (2 nights) on the Standard Plan. The Room was spacious and very clean, and we were able to relax in great comfort. The guest room had an indoor bath, but the complimentary 45-minute private open-air bath was truly wonderful. Being able to soak side by side at our own pace was the highlight of our stay, so we hardly used the indoor bath. The open-air bath also had a lovely atmosphere and became a great travel memory. The meals exceeded our expectations. Every dish was delicious, with plenty of variety—we were completely satisfied. It was especially memorable to see my wife, who usually eats lightly, enjoying far more than usual, which shows just how good everything was. Since it was a Multiple Night Stay, we expected similar meals each day, but on the second night we were impressed by a completely different course featuring grilled oysters, fried oysters, and Matsusaka beef sukiyaki. What stayed with us most was the spiny lobster miso soup at breakfast on the second day. Although it was small in size, it used one whole spiny lobster—an indulgent dish that tasted amazing and remains unforgettable. The staff’s thoughtful attention and warm hospitality were also excellent, making our entire stay pleasant from start to finish. Overall, this Accommodation exceeded our expectations in every way. When we visit Toba Aquarium again next time, we would love to stay here again.

Conveniently located near train stations and department stores. The Room is clean, spacious enough, and quiet. This wording sounds natural and works well as a Review for a Hotel or Accommodation. Although I’m used to being told “That’s not possible,” every staff member handled anything I asked for or wanted to request with polite, attentive service and without the slightest sign of displeasure. Their phone support was also excellent. This Hotel truly made me feel that this is what real hotel professionals are like.

We stayed here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We had a detached guesthouse with an indoor bath and an open-air bath, and thanks to that we were able to fully enjoy the Onsen. I usually don’t spend much time bathing, but the open-air bath felt so wonderful that I soaked in it many times. The Room was a Japanese-Western style room, but since I have trouble with my legs, I thought it would have been nice to have a chair. The older Room had a slight musty smell, but we were able to stay comfortably without any issues. We had dinner at the dining area. There were many dishes, and the salt-grilled yamame trout and grilled wagyu beef were outstanding. The service was attentive as well, and each dish was brought out at just the right time. We also received sparkling wine for the birthday celebration, which made my husband very happy. When we left, we were given souvenirs (the croissants were incredibly delicious) and even seen off by the staff. It was a very fulfilling two days. We will visit again. Thank you very much.

I stayed here with my wife on a trip to Kagoshima. Because it was raining and our flight was delayed, we couldn’t really enjoy the view, but we thoroughly enjoyed the Onsen with excellent water quality. The water is strongly alkaline and leaves your skin silky-smooth—personally, I loved it. The staff were all pleasant, and the meals were delicious without being overly large. Overall, we were satisfied with the Room that has a bath, except that the bathroom is fully visible from the bed. A curtain or similar covering on the bathroom door would help even middle-aged couples feel more comfortable. A great Onsen in a convenient location near Sakurajima and Ogawa Falls. Please continue operating for many years to come. Thank you very much.

The full-course dinner in the evening was our child’s first experience, and it was a wonderful one. Everything at breakfast was delicious. The restaurant staff were warm and attentive, which really impressed us. We would definitely like to visit again.

A one-night trip with three friends. On the day of our stay, they picked us up at the station regardless of our arrival time, and after checkout they stored our luggage and later drove us back to the station after sightseeing. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, we were able to relax in the Onsen, and the Room was spacious—making it a truly wonderful trip. This is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again. First, the young woman who escorted us to our Room had beautiful skin, and her professional service was very soothing. The two types of Onsen were great—especially the brown one, which was pleasantly salty and exactly my kind of Onsen. Maybe it was just my imagination, but my skin felt incredibly smooth afterward. This is just my personal opinion, but if the spring source temperature is low, I might soak longer if that small bath were a warm (lukewarm) Onsen. The Room was stylish as well. There were plenty of yukata and towels, so I could use fresh towels whenever I wanted with no stress. The free drinks were also very convenient. We only had breakfast, but the rice was glossy and delicious—I’d like to visit next time with dinner included.

This was a wonderful Accommodation that made my first trip to Niigata truly special. While the building and furnishings showed their age, there were programs where we could enjoy local culture, such as shamisen performances and readings about the snow country, and thoughtful amenities like sake lees face packs, Japanese sake, and coffee, making it an Accommodation where we could fully enjoy Yuzawa. All of the staff, as well as the shamisen instructor, were outstanding. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

A Hotel located near Beppu Tower and along Beppu Bay. The interior is clean and well maintained. The live piano performance in the lobby was a nice touch. The Room we stayed in this time was a Japanese-Western style Room with a semi-open-air bath. It was spacious and very relaxing. From the Room, you can enjoy a panoramic view of Beppu Bay—the open, unobstructed feeling is amazing. The large public bath and the rooftop open-air bath are on different floors, but both are spacious enough and very soothing. Dinner was a Japanese kaiseki course and it was delicious, though the tempura was a bit cold. Breakfast was a Japanese set meal with plenty of dishes, but younger guests might find it slightly light in volume. We made a Reservation for breakfast at 7:00 (the earliest slot), but even at 7:00 the dining area wasn’t open. When we asked staff at 7:05, they let us in—disappointing. Please be punctual with opening times. In any case, it’s an exceptionally clean and beautiful Hotel. And the value for money is outstanding—honestly, it’s a hidden gem. A great find after quite some time.

On the second night of our Multiple Night Stay, only a Japanese-style Room was available, so we changed Rooms. Even our heavy suitcases and lots of souvenirs were moved by the staff, which really impressed me. It was my first time staying in this Japanese-style Room, and it had the charming atmosphere of a traditional Ryokan. The Room was spacious and clean, and the bathroom and toilet were new, so we had a very comfortable stay. I think it’s a perfect Room for families. The Room was so spacious that I could even do yoga. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast, and they kindly stored our luggage until the afternoon when we left Ogaki, which was very helpful. I would love to stay again next time. We arrived in the evening and chose the plan with two meals included. The only convenience store within walking distance is a Lawson about 10–15 minutes away. Since you have to cross a national highway at night, it feels far. We were glad we added meals. The carefully prepared dishes were unique both to look at and to taste, and we really enjoyed them. I definitely recommend adding meals. We went early in the morning to Ritsuunkyo, came back for breakfast, rested in our Room, and then hiked up Takeda Castle; being able to take breaks along the way was great. This is a recommended Accommodation. Since it is an old traditional house Hotel, I would not recommend it to those who cannot enjoy an older building or who expect perfect Facilities.

I had heard that securing parking during the Lantern Festival would be difficult, so I chose this property for its parking and convenient location close to the venue. Another plus was that the Cancellation Fee was free until shortly before arrival. I booked a Room with a separate bath and toilet, and after walking around sightseeing, it was great to relax in the large bathtub and ease my fatigue. To be honest, the Kapitan concept wasn’t really my style, but the Room was spacious and had everything I needed functionally, so my stay was very comfortable.

Even though it was the day of the Gion Festival Yamaboko Junko parade and there were many guests, I had a comfortable stay. I went to the Onsen early, so it wasn’t crowded and I could relax. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options and was delicious—I ended up eating too much. I would like to stay again.

Everything was perfect in every way. The setting, cleanliness, and the delicious dinner and breakfast were all wonderful. It was also fun that each Room we stayed in was different. Even though it was midsummer, the garden flowers were in full bloom like a picture—truly impressive. This time we traveled from Yuda to Hagi and then Matsue, but next time we would like to come to Hagi and stay longer at a relaxed pace.

All the staff were very kind, and it was a comfortable stay. I stayed to relax, and I truly was able to unwind. It was also nice that we could go to the hot bath Facility in yukata and slippers. Breakfast took a bit too long, which was slightly disappointing, but otherwise I was satisfied.

We drove from Chiba. As an older couple, we chose this Onsen Accommodation so we could leave at a relaxed pace and truly unwind. It was a wonderful place that exceeded our expectations. The detached Room, the bath, and the meals were all outstanding. The meal included an impressive number of dishes, but each portion was thoughtfully sized, so even we were able to finish everything. The next day, we enjoyed the gentle Onsen three times and headed home unhurriedly. This is now on our list of places we definitely want to visit again.

I stayed here while visiting home from Tokyo, also to celebrate my mother’s birthday. I consulted with the staff in advance about celebrating my 84-year-old mother, and on the day you kindly prepared a signboard at the dining area, special dishes, and even a cake—thank you very much. My mother was deeply moved and teared up, saying it would be “a keepsake for the afterlife,” and the surprise was a great success. I had already known how wonderful the Onsen water quality is, and since it’s easy to reach from my family home and has convenient access from the airport as well, I’d love to stay again. We were also lucky enough to see fireflies unexpectedly, making it a memorable stay for both of us. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

We stayed in a Japanese-style Room with a private open-air bath fed directly from the source. First, about the Onsen: the open-air bath in our Room was truly luxurious and easy to access from the Japanese-style Room. Even though it was still a bit chilly seasonally, we were able to use it comfortably. The large public bath is located in a secure area inside the building, and although we stayed just before a holiday weekend and had it almost to ourselves, we never felt uneasy about safety. Both the indoor bath and open-air bath were very comfortable. As a result, we enjoyed going back and forth between the private open-air bath in our Room and the large public bath many times! Next, about the meals: dinner was very filling, and we enjoyed a wide variety of local ingredients from appetizers through to the main course. The luxury items—especially grilled nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch) marinated in yuzu sauce and Noto beef—were beyond what we had imagined. Breakfast also offered various delicious “rice companions” that paired perfectly with great rice, so we thoroughly enjoyed it. Since this is not a new building, I was initially concerned about heating and other measures against the cold, but there were no issues with temperatures either in our Room or throughout the Facility. We were able to relax comfortably in a spacious, clean, calm Japanese-style Room. We had packed plans for the next day as well, so we left early on the first Shuttle Service bus; looking back, I think it would have been nice to take things slower at this Accommodation. There aren’t many places to visit right around this Accommodation, but we did enjoy short walks such as Rosanjin’s Iroha Soan and around an atmospheric public bath area nearby. Access is also reasonable: it’s about 10–15 minutes by Shuttle Service bus from Kagaonsen Station (and it takes only around 5 minutes from getting off the Shinkansen to boarding). There isn’t a lobby café or trendy services like breakfast buffets that you often see these days; however, for anyone who wants to unwind at a calm Ryokan with an old-fashioned sense of comfort and security above all else, I can highly recommend this Accommodation. It may also be because we splurged somewhat on a good Room option they prepared for us, but overall my spouse and I were completely satisfied—we couldn’t find anything to fault. Lastly, thank you very much to our attendant for your warm hospitality. We would love to stay again.
