At last, I made it to Hacienda Vison—somewhere I’d been wanting to visit for ages. As an interior lover, it had been on my list forever, but I never quite got around to it. This small Hotel has only six Rooms and is the first project designed under the direction of The Conran Shop in London, UK. I’ve always loved its mid-century feel and the way wood and natural materials are paired with black metal accents. “I want to see it.” With that feeling alone, one day I booked on impulse online. I took the first Shinkansen of the day to Taki Town in Mie Prefecture. The moment I stepped into the Room, “I want to live here.” That was all I could say. (Laughs) High ceilings, a kitchen included—everything from the furniture and lighting to the textures was exactly my taste. It felt like a space created by gathering every single thing I love into one Room. The minibar had two bottles of Acqua Panna, 100% Mie-grown satsuma mandarin juice (additive-free), Isekadoya Pale Ale, and more—all available complimentary. (Of course it’s probably included in the stay, but I can’t resist seeing “Help yourself.” (Laughs)) Even though it’s a new Hotel that opened in August 2024, they intentionally chose traditional keys instead of auto-locks. Carrying a key with a brass Room number while strolling around VISON felt like part of the Hotel’s world—such a lovely touch. Surrounded by mountains, you catch soft hints of earth and wood in the air. It reminded me of my grandmother’s house—and Hokuto City—and before I knew it, I took a deep breath. Apparently just seeing mountains and greenery instantly puts me in a better mood. (Laughs) After working up a sweat, it was time for a bath. Soaking while looking out at the garden greenery was incredibly relaxing, and the shampoo and body wash were from Bamford in England. I also loved their philosophy: “What you put on your skin is as important as what you eat.” Even down to the logo on the slippers—every detail was thoughtfully done. You can also step out into a small private garden from your Room; it felt like such an inviting space that I found myself thinking, “I want to have breakfast here tomorrow morning.” My work-filled mind during weekdays slowly quieted down just by gazing at the mountains, zoning out for a while, and taking baths. It reminded me that travel isn’t only about scenery or food—it’s about what kind of time you get to spend there. Next time, I’d love to stay in another Room too. It truly was a wonderful Hotel.

The Room was clean, and there was a desk lamp that could charge my smartphone just by placing it on it, so I had a very comfortable stay. There is a Starbucks near the Hotel, and there is also a convenience store at Kameoka Station, which was very convenient. I would like to stay again.

Although the sky was unfortunately overcast, it was the perfect season to comfortably soak in the lukewarm natural spring water, and it felt wonderful! The meals are delicious and full of healthy options, and combined with the Onsen benefits, I feel better every time I stay. Perhaps because I kept coming back, my frozen shoulder has completely healed! The summer à la carte fried rock oysters were especially delicious—I’d love to have them again next year! This was my first Saturday stay, and I enjoyed listening to a jazz piano performance. It matched beautifully with the mysterious flicker of the bamboo lights in the garden and was incredibly soothing. There were familiar tunes and summer songs, and in the second half they even took requests, so there was a great variety of music and it was truly enjoyable. Ending with “Cradle Song” was also a stylish touch. I’m looking forward to visiting again in autumn.

I stayed the night before a live show at a nearby venue. Although it is not an affiliated parking lot, there are many parking options in the area, making it easy to access by car. The Room was spacious and clean, and I was able to use the large public bath comfortably. At the breakfast venue, even if you weren’t taking everything, you had to line up from the start, and since there was no staff guidance, it was crowded. With so many rooms, I guess some crowding can’t be helped. It also took quite a while for the elevator to arrive, but that may be unavoidable as well. Thank you for your hospitality.

It was a very stylish Hotel and felt clean, and as soon as I entered the lobby it felt open and spacious—somehow it was very comfortable. There is also a free Shuttle Service, and the location is excellent. A design Hotel where every detail feels different from others. The exposed concrete walls created a great atmosphere.

The Hotel itself is a typical Business Hotel, and there isn’t any special view, but the breakfast is excellent! In the morning, the buffet includes Ryukyu (tuna rice bowl) and chicken tempura. At night, free late-night soba is served. Everything was delicious!!

It’s close to Aomori Station, and we chose it because the bathroom and toilet are separate. The Room was clean, spacious enough, and easy to use. The selectable amenities offered a wide variety, with many items that women will appreciate. Having a convenience store on the first floor is very convenient. This is a Hotel I would like to stay at again.

We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay during our Obon trip to Yamaguchi. The detached Room was spacious, and we had a very comfortable stay. The Onsen in the Room was simply amazing, and we enjoyed it many times during our stay (we even ended with a footbath before checkout because we didn’t want to leave). The staff were also very courteous. The meals featuring local cuisine were absolutely delicious. Since it was a Multiple Night Stay, I imagine the chef had to work hard on the menu, but we were completely satisfied on both days. We’ll definitely come back to relax again when we visit Yamaguchi!

I stayed here shortly after the Hotel opened. It has aged quite a bit since then, but it was well cleaned and I had no concerns. I checked in late, but I was still able to use the large public bath, and every item at breakfast was very delicious. The Room was very spacious and comfortable to stay in.

The staff are exceptionally professional. Not a single mistake from anyone. I’d love to know how you maintain such a high standard among your team. The milky hot spring bath was also outstanding. The food quality was excellent as well. That said, as someone with a big appetite, I would have liked a bit more in terms of portion size. I understand the menu changes every two months, so I’d love to visit again.

This was my first stay in a year, and it was clean and comfortable. The temperature of the large public bath was just right for me. I fell asleep after coming back from drinks and missed the late-night soba, but it’s close to the shopping street with restaurants, and there’s a convenience store right in front, so it’s very convenient. In Abashiri, this would be my only choice personally.

The staff were very kind and helpful, both when I called with questions and when I arrived late. The Room was spacious and comfortable, and it was great that the bath and toilet were separate. I thought it would be nice to have a chair in the washing area of the bathroom. There was a roadside station nearby, and a 7-Eleven right next door, which was very convenient. The Room photos on the website showed a round table and two chairs, but the Room I was shown had only one chair and no table, which was inconvenient. However, when I spoke to the front desk the next day, they didn’t have a table but they lent me an additional chair, which really helped. Thanks to that, I was able to relax and enjoy my stay. Thank you very much.

The building and Rooms are certainly old, but the view from the lobby, the delicious meals made with care using local ingredients, the hot Onsen, and above all, the pleasant hospitality of the staff made our stay very comfortable. Thank you for taking such good care of us. I would like to visit again during the autumn foliage season.

We stayed at this Accommodation mainly for the teppanyaki. The cooking was performed right in front of us. The meal included oysters, shrimp, fish, and meat, and we ended up far too full. In the morning, we also enjoyed omelets and French toast made on the teppan, so both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The staff were kind and attentive. Thank you very much.

At check-in, the female front desk staff member provided excellent service. She was smiling throughout and was very considerate. The male staff member at check-out was also wonderful, with a great smile. The Room was very clean and spotless, and there was nothing to complain about. I would like to stay here again. Thank you very much.

In a wonderful location along the Amorigawa River, a thatched-roof building stands quietly, and from the moment you arrive, it feels like you’ve stepped into another world. Being greeted by two chickens was also an unexpectedly charming sight. What stayed with me most was the hospitality of the staff. We enjoyed many dishes that made the most of local ingredients. It wasn’t just about being lavish—each course conveyed a heartfelt desire to delight those who made the journey here, and I truly felt that warmth. In the evening, we were able to enjoy fireworks by the irori hearth while sipping shochu. The care taken to create even these simple moments really showed how exceptional this Accommodation’s hospitality is. By chance, we also had an opportunity to hear directly from the owner about the early days after opening. Listening to how they overcame times that were far from smooth and built what Masyouen is today helped me understand why this place has been loved for so long. The private Onsen in our detached room was full of character as well, and soaking slowly in nature was something special. This is not an Accommodation that moves people with luxurious Facility alone; it’s a place where nature, architecture, cuisine, Onsen—and above all, human warmth—linger in your heart. There are many places I’d like to stay again, but this one made me feel like I wanted to come back home.

Thanks to the warm and courteous service, I felt at ease throughout my stay. The location is very convenient if you are traveling by car. For guests arriving by train, a Shuttle Service was also available to Shimoda Station. Because I have many food allergies, I chose a Plan without meals. However, the Accommodation staff kindly recommended local restaurants, and we were fortunate to get a Reservation. I was able to enjoy an outstanding simmered kinmedai (splendid alfonsino), which was absolutely delicious. The young international staff were wonderful as well—their smiles were lovely, their Japanese was excellent, and they worked with great dedication. As someone who can only speak Japanese comfortably, I truly respect them. The bath was also fantastic: the Izu stone in the indoor bath glowed a beautiful blue, and its soft texture felt very pleasant on the skin. The night view of Shimoda Port and the sunset outside the window were stunning. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

This time I made a point of arriving in Morioka early. Even though it was before check-in, the staff kindly stored my luggage, so I could explore Morioka hands-free. I also got to fully enjoy my favorite Morioka reimen, and at night I relaxed and refreshed at the spa. After properly unwinding with the sauna and cold bath, I was able to head to work feeling great the next day. As a soft-serve lover, I was beyond happy that I could enjoy Noda Salt soft-serve right inside the Hotel! Another highlight is being able to spend time at ease in such a refined space. The parking lot is close by, and the location is very convenient with direct access to the bus center. Just one thing: it was a little hard to understand how guests can use the Hotel café. Could we have had dinner there too…? Was there morning coffee we could take back to our Room…? Next time, I’m definitely coming for a relaxing Multiple Night Stay on a private trip!

I chose this Accommodation because it seemed to have a great view from the Room, and with the good weather it was even more wonderful than I imagined. The meals were truly delicious! All of the staff were very pleasant, and one staff member was from overseas but explained everything carefully, which I really appreciated. Visiting Aso has become a very special memory for me.
