Kamisuwa Onsen Minshuku Suwako

This Accommodation is very popular and hard to book, but I was lucky to get a Reservation and this is my second stay.The building is old, so you can hear noise from outside the Room, but once you get used to it, it’s not an issue.The meals are generous and delicious—I almost worry it’s okay to stay at such a low price.I still haven’t seen all the nearby sights, so I’d love to come again.

This is a historic Ryokan full of charm and atmosphere. I was able to forget everyday life and enjoy an elegant, relaxing time. The huge lava sculpture in the courtyard is breathtaking! I heard that both the building and the sculpture are about 100 years old. Minshuku Suwako was clean, the air felt fresh, and the toilets have been renovated, making it very comfortable. The balance between renovated areas and original interiors from when it was built felt just right. The indoor bath was nicely hot, and the silky-smooth water left my skin glowing! If I could, I’d soak in it every day. Breakfast was delicious as well. Next time, I’d like to stay with a Plan that includes dinner. The staff were friendly and easy to talk to, which made me feel very welcome! I’m looking forward to visiting again. Thank you very much for everything!
