Hotel Montagne Matsumoto

Although it was just a 1-minute walk from the station, it was so quiet that we were not bothered by outside noise. The view of the Northern Alps from the window was beautiful, and our Room faced the side where we could enjoy watching the sunrise.We went to breakfast around 8:00, and it wasn’t crowded, so we could take our time and enjoy what we liked. My mother in her 70s was also pleased, saying the Japanese simmered dishes and Chinese rice porridge were delicious and not overly seasoned.I was happy that the bathtub was large, and the amenities were well stocked. If possible, I would appreciate it even more if facial lotion could be available at the front desk.I would love to stay here again when visiting Matsumoto.

After visiting Matsumoto for the past five years, arriving at this Hotel after sightseeing in the area always feels like coming home—a comforting relief. Still, it’s understandable that things have changed a bit since inbound tourism increased. Of course, group bookings are more valuable to the Hotel than individual guests who now visit only a few times a year, but it can feel a little lonely at times. Even so, compared with other Hotels where that shift is painfully obvious, the staff’s warm service—consistent since my first stay—continues to put me at ease.
