Otogi-tei Kofu

The weather wasn’t very good, so we couldn’t see the starry sky.However, the bamboo lantern lights were everywhere around town and were very beautiful.The Hotel meals were delicious, and the “Tamatebako” was amazing as well.Since it’s all-inclusive, we could enjoy whatever drinks we liked.The lounge was also wonderful.The Room was clean… but there was a half-finished coffee left in the refrigerator from the previous guest, which was a bit disappointing.Also, the footsteps from the guests upstairs were very loud.Still, the Hotel staff were extremely polite and pleasant.It’s a Hotel I’d like to stay at again.

Three of us (adults) stayed one night in the room listed in the title. Some other Accommodations also offer rooms with an Onsen, but considering insects during this season, we chose your property because the open-air bath in the room has a window and can be opened and closed, making it a semi-open-air style. We were also attracted by the fact that it is a newly renovated room.It is a very small Accommodation, but it felt calm and relaxing. Thinking an extra bed would make the room cramped, we declined it in advance and instead had two double beds pushed together—everyone slept very well. The room was more spacious and comfortable than expected, with well-stocked amenities and Facilities that made our stay stress-free and truly relaxing. If anything, having bathrobes would make it even better.Water temperature and ventilation can be adjusted via control panels. Not only the room but the entire building felt very clean. However, we didn’t particularly feel that our skin became smoother from the in-room Onsen.As for service, everyone—from welcome to farewell—was polite and smiling throughout. Many staff members were from Nepal; they must be well trained, as we felt genuine warmth and sincerity from all of them.The special room is close to reception, the lounge, dining area, and the large public bath (Onsen), so access is excellent. Since it’s on a different floor from other rooms, it was also very quiet.We didn’t have especially high expectations for meals, but breakfast was delicious. Rather than white fish fry—and since there’s such a beautiful river nearby—river fish skewers would be nicer. A small bowl of Shinshu soba to finish would have been satisfying as well. It would also be nice to have mini ice pops after bathing.This became quite long, but we wanted to recover from daily fatigue; this time we enjoyed a relaxed stay focused on soaking in the Onsen within the Ryokan. On departure, we were humbled by kind words directly from the proprietress (Okami). Thank you as well for the appropriate and courteous support from her successor (Waka-okami). We also appreciate your quick response to our requests.Thank you very much for taking care of us. We’d like to visit again during a colder season when enjoying an Onsen feels even better.
