ASAI Kyoto Shijo (Dusit International)

The location is between Gojo Station and Shijo Station, with excellent access to Kyoto Station and central areas like Karasuma Oike. Since the hotel is newly opened, the facilities are clean. Being Thai-owned, the interior features Thai motifs, and there are playful touches like nostalgic Japanese posters. The room is compact, but the lounge is spacious, and with so many places to visit in Kyoto, it's not an issue. If you are uncomfortable undressing in the toilet, you might want to be cautious. The only disappointment was that the TV did not support mirroring. I was looking forward to watching videos on the hotel's large screen... It's a nice point that you can choose breakfast from Thai, Western, and Japanese cuisine. I chose pho, and it was a gentle taste, perfect for the morning. Perhaps not well-known among Japanese yet, most guests were foreigners. I was very satisfied with the stay at such a reasonable price!

When staying at a hotel in Kyoto, I choose a place where the breakfast looks delicious. This time, I found a hotel where I could choose Thai cuisine from the morning, so I made a reservation immediately. At check-in, I learned that my room floor had been changed to the top floor. Also, I received a hotel mug for their first anniversary and a commemorative drink ticket that could be used in the lounge. The room layout was different from other hotels, with a washbasin right at the entrance. Next to it were complimentary water, a mug, and a kettle. There was no bathtub, only a shower, but since I never soak in a bathtub, it was not a problem. The large bath towels were very pleasant. The bed was set on a high platform with a mattress. Therefore, when getting up, you have to walk a bit along the mattress to step down to the floor. At night, I wanted to watch TV, but the screen kept turning off. I gave up and went to bed early, but in the morning, I could watch it normally. I must have been using it incorrectly.For dinner, I had made a reservation at this hotel's restaurant in advance through IKYU Restaurant. Therefore, for breakfast, I had the American set, and my child had the porridge set. The porridge was delicious. Since the portion was large, I only had the soup, but I thought I should have chosen that. The drinks were self-service, but both the coffee and orange juice were delicious. I was also impressed that milk was provided.It seemed that there were many foreign guests, and I was able to enjoy a travel atmosphere even within the hotel. It seemed that events were planned depending on the time of day.After checking out of the hotel, I was helped by having my suitcase lifted to the street. Thank you very much.
